started taking zyrtec, seemed to help a little but starts up again so i also started taking zantac along with the zyrtec. i am still getting some hives and itching but now for about the past 3-4 wks now i'm also getting nausea, please help!

Over time, I stopped taking the Zyrtec and Zantac. Now I am only taking the Doxepin. This seems to control everything pretty well. My doctor also told me about Plaquenil, which was a medication for lupus patients but also works well with my condition. However, the Plaquenil is known for some side effects that could lead to retinal spotting, so regular eye exams are required and he recommends not taking it for extensive periods of time. I'm a stay at home mom with a similar (but not exact) experience to your daughter, so take my suggestion for what it's worth. I had chronic hives since childhood. It was undiagnosed until my 20s. My new allergist said people with dermagraphism (my form of chronic hives) was frequently a side symptom of an auto-immune disease. He tested me for 6 different ones, and I came back positive for Hashimotos (my immune system attacks my thyroid).

I am now taking 2 mulitvitamins a day and 1000 IU of Vitamin D along with 6 Zyrtec and 2 Zantac and I am still breaking out every day! I have only been taking the vitamins for a week, so I am seeing if that will work eventually, but this is so frustrating! Help!!!!!

Welcome to the club if it gets any worse take oatmeal baths and take one Zyrtec and Zantac throughout the day. And yes I said Zantac, I have the PUPPS rash and that's how mine started and I got diagnosed just a few weeks ago! There is no cure except to deliver the baby. I am currently taking 1 Zantac 150 mg in the morning and night, 1 allegra in the morning, 2 zyrtec at night, and benedryl every 4 hours. I can not go outside in the day time, I can not workout, I can not eat hot/spicy foods, I can not get heated up or over heated, and I can't even have sex without getting hives. Ive been suffering with a red, blotchy neck and chest with anxiety for 10+ years. It typically comes on with anxiety, sex, and occasionally exercise. I have tried Prilosec reglan Zantac Zyrtec At one point was out back on Paxil then tried Lexapro. This began again 2 weeks ago and I have lost 16 lbs with no appetite and inability to eat a whole meal. I go to bed fearing that the cycle will return again every morning and sure enough it does. The last 2-3 weeks, I have had what we call cotton mouth, where everything is dry and my tongue feels as if it been burned. Its hurts no matter how soft or hard the food is and matter if its water or soda that I'm drinking. Could this be from the meds or is this side effects still coming from the RAI treatment.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

did not help. 15 days Zantac, did not help. I took somack and zyrtec for 50 days did not help. Over time my situation is getting worst. I have been tested for possible parasites.but did not find any (I don't know if it shoud be tested for specific). I had simple test of allergenic substance; food, dust, etc. shows noting. I don't have sing of allergi like runing nouse or sneezing but I get very very small rushes in my forehead.

I was on the Depo shot back in 2013, I stopped taking the shot because I started getting really sick a few days after getting it. Then about 3 months after my last shot, I got pregnant. This is when the hives started, they ranged in size from a penny to almost a half dollar, and only targeted my upper body, never my legs or lower half. I ran out of the 75 mg of zantac but I have equate 150 mg its the same thing as zantac but just the.generic brand. Is it ok to take that?

I am 13 years old and I was diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria, too, a few months ago. I have had it since about February though. I don't know if you have been treated yet since this post is old, but I'm on a combination of prednisone, Zantac, Zyrtec, zafirlukast, and Hydroxyzine. I don't think there is a cure, but there is help. I'm receiving shots of Xolair which has helped people, but so far it hasn't helped me so I might try Plaquenil. I hope you have gotten better.

I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good? My doctor was OK with me taking zyrtec. You just have to make sure to drink lots and lots of water.
