zyrtec and prednisone

he’s been on prednisone and Zyrtec the prednisone clears it up after seven days but then they come right back and then he goes right back on prednisone. He has had an blood allergy test and it came back negative on everything. he has a dermatology appointment on Thursday I don’t want to put him back on prednisone again he’s gaining weight the Zyrtec does nothing and he has not been on any antibiotics.

His internal organs have all come forward and are pushing on his lungs and heart. He is otherwise healthy, runs, jumps eats drinks and eliminates. I am just nervous about the prednisone. Thanks for any advice you might have.

The rash went away a lil more. Now it seems as if the rash may be coming back again. My question is will taking to small of a dose, or not taking the prednisone until the rash clears up. Will that cause the rash to come back?

Has anyone experienced severe itching problems when they stop taking Zyrtec?

(I have lots of sinus infections, have had surgery on my sinuses, etc.) Doc gave me a z-pack and prednisone. Suggested I try Claritin or zyrtec to see if allergies are triggering all of this. Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?

It seems like Akira has seasonal allergies and dust allergies in addition to her food allergies. Because I really don't want to give her long term steroids, I decided to only give her the 1/4 tablet of Zyrtec that the vet told me to give her before. I try to wait 'til I just have to give it to her, because I know that people can build up a tolerance to antihistamines, so I figure that animals can, too.

I have a friend that says she has the same thing and she takes Zyrtec and Pepcid at night, she says it is the combination of the 2 drugs, and then when her lip swells she has to take Prednisone. Is there anything I can give my 8 year old for the swelling?

i was on prednisone for about two and a half weeks and came off it last week. ive been taking benadryll 25mg and zyrtec 10mg regularly, and the rash had all disappeared except that my cheeks and palms still get flushed when im nervous, cold or take a hot shower. tonight, my legs were itchy and i noticed small, itchy red bumps on my legs and arms that look nothing like my previous rash and i am very worried about this new rash. it has been a month now and i just want it all to go away.

I went with the same symptoms to a ENT Doctor yesterday and he gave me antibiotik CIPRO- 750 mg twice a day and wanted to give me Prednisone- 40mg twice a day as well. but I am aware of major intercation betweeh antibiotiks and steroids and refused. Then he told me to takeonly the CIPRO and double the Zyrtec. I am not any better today and my ear is turning purple. Should I go to dermatologist or should I get tested for allergies? At that time, I was finally given a shot, and that really helped, and the hives went away-I took the Prednisone for the weekly pack, and some kind of acid reducer, and Zertec. This episode that I am now experiencing, I have not received a shot, I was told to take Chlorpheniramine Maleate (I use Sinus Allergy PE), and this seems to work much better than Zantec. went to another Doctor who looked, felt the pimples, and seen the hives and rash .. he prescribed APO-HYDROXYZINE 25MG and after 32 hours the rash and hives increased spreading all over and more ithcier than before .. he also precribed Noritate 1% cream plus pHisoHex wash for the private area .. no help nothing improved the rash increased and so is the itch .. Any one with an answer to this ..

I switched from loratadine to Zyrtec and that actually has been controlling it, if I take a pill in the morning, mid-day and sometimes evening as well. Finally, my doctor recommended me to an allergist. The allergist had me taper off the prednisone and put me on 100mg Allegra in the morning and 10mg Zyrtec at night. She tested me for every allergy. I came back to being allergic to nothing. We also did a blood tests for my thyroid, cancer, graves disease, and various other diseases. My thyroid levels came back normal but my auto antibodies came back high, over 400.

In the past I have taken Zyrtec, Claritin, and Xyzal....Zyrtec seems to work best for me. You can get both Zyrtec and Claritin over the counter, and both come in a generic form (I take the generic form of Zyrtec). This helped my allergies tremendously, I would recommend taking one daily while your symptoms are in full-force, and then backing off to just whenever it's needed when your symptoms settle down.

I went to prompt care, were I received a steroid injection and a three week Prednisone 10mg tapper. Without relief, I sought the help of a high recommended dermatologist. Upon being seen I was given another steroid injection, Periactin 4mg/ 3x daily, Atrax 25mg/ 2 tablets up to 4x daily and Triamcinolone (topical). I also had several blood test and a chest x-ray, which all came back fine. I continued to develop giant hives daily.

Good luck with this my daughter is 16 and we have been dealing with this for 2 years now and they call it chronic hives and she had been on prednisone,allegra,singular,zyrtec and benadryl all at the same time and is breaking through all of that. i take allergy meds, starting zyrtec D today and i take benedryl at night ONLY because it calms me down and helps me sleep. i know anxiety makes this condition worse. but there IS a condition here. and it's only getting worse with my tongue and back throat. i also thought TMJ but my bite doesn't feel off and i can chew fine. it's only left ear and in the morning it's not bad at all, i can barely feel congestion..

I woke up Thursday morning and my eyes were swollen shut. I started taking some Zyrtec and Benedryl, it helped a little and the swelling went down maybe by 50%. This morning I woke up and the swelling was worse than Thursday morning. I have only had this happen once before in my life. I was also advised to take Zyrtec and wondered if Zyrtec had any more benefit for skin reactions thank Claritin. Claritin didn't help at all. Two dermatologists suggested Zyrtec over Claritin . I hesitate to try the Zyrtec as I took it once a few years ago and promptly feel into a deep sleep. If it is better for the skin than Claritin can it be taken at night and do any good? I decided to start the prednisone the allergist prescribed and took my first dose of 3 pills at 3pm. Today was my second day of Avelox. I am also doing the nasal steroid spray and today was my second day of Zyrtec. Would a doctor even do anything for my ears if they are infected? Is there anything I can do for relief? Will I hopefully start feeling better with the combo of Avelox/prednisone?
