zoloft

Avatar f tn When my doctor changed me from Zoloft to another anti-depressant, they were stopped straight away, and I had no withdrawal symptoms at all. We all react differently, so give it a bit more time.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Zoloft (100mg once a day) a few days ago. I had no withdrawal at all. This morning I woke up with the most intense vertigo and nausea I've ever had. I have a fear of throwing up so I'm on the verge of tears because I do not want to throw up. I tried eating and I even took 50mg of Zoloft to see if that was the problem. But it's been 3 hours and I'm sitting here at work wondering if I should go home or if it's even safe for me to drive.
Avatar m tn m currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal? Could I have done any permanent brain damage from taking a Vicodin since my brain is in recovery mode? This is the first Vicodin I have taken since I stopped taking the Zoloft.
Avatar n tn I have been on paxil 20mg for about 6 years for intense anxiety. I have been trying to get pregnant recently so my ob/gyn changed my medicine to zoloft 25mg. He told me to stop taking the paxil and take the zoloft the very next day, and from then on. I have been on zoloft 25mg for the past 3 weeks, and now the horrible withdrawal symptoms have seemed to die down. I wasn't feeling quite up to par last week so i went back to the doctor and he switched me to 50mg of zoloft.
Avatar f tn Finally 3 months ago i decided to abandon this medication as it has lift its efficacy and had made me numb. The withdrawal symptoms have been disastrous. I thought all withdrawal symptoms were gone when suddenly i had drowsiness and later vomited and felt weak all day long. It seems to me that the withdrawal symptoms continue for a long time. Some have subsided while others are emerging.
Avatar f tn my daughter quit taking her zyprexia 5 mg and zoloft 150 mg. What withdrawal symptoms will she have? She has been on zyprexia and zoloft for approximately 10 months.
255163 tn?1376869746 Out of your system it is but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect your brain chemistry anymore. No withdrawal symptoms so far so good and don't expect to have any. I would not say the same to someone who had been taking Zoloft for 6 months and more since the withdrawal symptoms can start after 1 week. The therapeutic lag is also present when stopping. Your brain chemistry didn't adapt to the medication therefore suggesting there would be no withdrawal symptoms for you.
Avatar m tn //mentalhealthdaily.com/2014/04/15/zoloft-sertraline-withdrawal-symptoms-list-duration/ I was listening to a song I always use to think was very catchy before I took Zoloft, and now I can't figure out what was so appealing about the song. Do you think that's from lack of emotion combined with the other symptoms I've been having?
Avatar f tn No, your problem is withdrawal. This happens when you stop taking these drugs, and is worse if you stop taking them abruptly. All your symptoms are withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn I'm inquiring about Zoloft withdrawal symptoms that you are aware of. Is it possible to become aggressive, violent and anger when stopping Zoloft abruptly?
Avatar m tn m very glad to hear that you are weaning with the supervision of your doctor. Your symptoms are really common and while scary and bothersome will not do you any permanent damage. That you called your doc with your concerns is great, that was exactly the correct thing to do. That he suggested you may not be quite ready to totally stop the meds I think is also very astute on his part.
Avatar m tn Talk to your prescribing doctor regarding this, he can guide so you so you don't suffer a lot of withdrawal symptoms.
1612112 tn?1298347577 What you describe sounds to me like withdrawal symptoms initially (the brain zaps, etc), but the later symptoms (chest pain, etc) sound like classic rebound anxiety, which is very common after d/c-ing these meds. I understand that you're in a rough spot b/c of the inability to afford the care and meds you may need, but I would strongly recommend looking into what options may be out there for you...financial assistance, etc.
1070971 tn?1299614110 Not sure what your dosage and daily intake was but it does indeed sound like withdrawal symptoms. They shouldn't last over a month, but tell your doctor and let her make a professional diagnosis. Best wishes!
Avatar f tn How then is a person suppose to know whether they have a chemical imbalance or they are psychologically dependent on Zoloft? When my doctor started me on Zoloft he said I had a chemical imbalance. I guess I would like to know more about a chemical imbalance and if you have that condition, does it ever change with time as a person takes the medication, or are we always imbalanced? So, as you see, this can be confusing to me. I feel that this is a very important question.
Avatar f tn Ask him about increasing the Zoloft and tapering off the Ativan. The Ativan can give you withdrawal and strange symptoms. Missing one dose does cause changes that you can feel. Good Luck. Please try not to be scared! Really there is nothing to fear here. You can try to get answers and you will find support on this site. You can taper off the Ativan, many people here have done it. So keep posting and let us know what is happening.
Avatar m tn Well, if you don't want to go back on it, then don't, however, you really should discuss these kinds of things with your doctor first. I'm not sure how long you were on the Zoloft, but it shouldn't be abruptly stopped, it should be tapered under the supervision of a doctor. Why did you miss a whole week? Why do you not want to stay on it? Was it not working? How long were you on it at what dose? Are you addressing your depression any other way? Therapy?
Avatar f tn Hi I was originally given Zoloft for Anxiety when I was a teenager. Fastforward almost 10 years later.. I am trying to wean off of it. I have tried before with bad withdrawal and fearfulness of what would happen. I now feel even more depressed, which is strange I was never originally given medication for depression. After trying to wean off, I feel worse. I haven't had anxiety in years but my doctors told me "just stay on the meds for the rest of your life".
