8120829 tn?1408722859 I even had a buzzing in one leg for a while then the intense heat from inside my leg. When I search for skin problems and thyroid meds I find many people with dry skin, burning, etc. from levo or tirosint. (That's how I found my way here.) I'm on 75mcg of Tirosint now. The endo is happy with the numbers and is not having me back until January. He said he has never seen anyone with my reaction and believes it is a reaction to the supplements.
Avatar f tn I have hair loss, weight gain, dry skin, problems with my digestive tract like constipation and diahrea and acid reflux, constantly feeling tiredneed at least 10 hours of sleep. Is this all related to the thyroid or something else. Usually my blood tests come back normal but I take .1 mg of generic synthroid.
Avatar f tn I went thru this painful bleeding rash on my arms and legs for years..ugh its just awful. Went to every skin Dr and they were stumped..well I just had thyroid surgery to remmove toxic nodule and half my thyroid...guess what? The rash is finally clearing up all by it self now! Yaaaaay! Tell you Dr about it and insist you get your thyroid treated..myself I recomend the surgery over the radiation. A litter more painful but much safer esp for those of us with thyroid rash!
Avatar f tn I recently started having issues with dizziness, hair loss, weight gain, and extreme fatigue. I went to a chiropractor and he was doing an MRI for my neck and an abnormality showed up on my thyroid. It said Incidental note is made of a 1.4 cm left thyroid nodule. IMPRESSION: Unremarkable MRI of the cervical spine. Incidental note is made of a 1.4 cm left thyroid nodule, and correlation with thyroid sonography if not already performed.

Avatar n tn When I very first started with thyroid problems last year, swinging up and down from borderline high to borderline low everything changed including my reaction to alcohol. Also just recently I have been diagnosed with Sjogren's syndrome also, which they think has been running alongside the thyroid the whole time. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you how it works, I can only hope to help you by telling you that you are not alone.
Avatar f tn Alternatively the skin issues could be separate from the thyroid. Please read up on PCOS and see if it fits. Ask your doctor about it. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is more commonly seen in people with thyroid issues.
Avatar f tn The problem is I am still having all the same symptoms, my doctor says I should be skin and bones, fidgety, hyper, and hotter than normal. But I am not, I am still cold, gaining weight if I don’t watch what I eat and exercise, moody as heck and tired during the day. The only thing that is changes is that I am finally sleeping through the night?????? My doctor is confused, he said I should be hyperthyroidism and not hypo…..and thoughts?
Avatar n tn itchy skin, course hair, no energy, weight gain ,hypertension I have problems sleeping.. My cholorestrol is 177. A few years ago I lost 10-15 pounds without trying. I have gained weight constantly for the last 3 months. What special can I have done and what type of doctor do I need to see. Do you know about a supplement ADK? Avatar m tn My symptoms include the low TSH and testosterone, increasing sweatiness and heat intolerance, mood swings, aggression, concentration issues, dry skin and acne, loss of lean muscle, and loss of energy and endurance. my question is that i lack much of the symptoms of low testosterone. my sexual function has not been affected, and neither has my sex drive. what could be doing this?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am new. I have been having symptoms that seem to me to be a thyroid or adrenal issue. I do not know what is up. I had my thyroid checked two years ago, it came back normal, but I am still having weird issues. At 42 I have a normal menstrual cycle, like clockwork. My eyelashes fall out in perfect patches, I am always chilled to the bone, or my face and neck are hot. Hair in front of head, at crown, it so thin. My skin has taken a strange turn.
Avatar m tn I was taking 50mcg of Synthroid for a couple of months and saw improvement in skin tone (lack of dry flaky skin) and concentration. Over the past few weeks I have experimented with Armour, trying different dosages. I can not seem to tolerate more than a quarter grain without experiencing some angina and the dry flaky skin has returned. Have thought about adding back in the 50 mcg of Synthroid with the quarter grain of Armour. Has anyone tried this?
Avatar f tn Now I was diagnosed with heaves and sm really hyped right now and I have the itchy skin and hives. I really feel this was my thyroid all along.
8170270 tn?1413845335 m still not feeling well (fatigue, sleepless, brain fog, itchy irritated skin, joint pain etc) while my thyroid function came back within normal range I had "concerning" elevated liver enzymes and am getting an ultrasound. My question is are liver issues and Hashimoto's related? Is this typical? Just wondering if it could be contributing to me feeling so bad all the time as I had very high hopes of Synthroid improving some symptoms.
Avatar f tn It comes and goes, and happens daily. After the blood test I looked up the symptoms of hypothyroidism and I've had a lot of them at some point or another (some I currently have), all varying in severity: severe cold intolerance, fatigue, dry skin and hair, having touble remembering things, etc. But I also looked under hyperthyroidism and I've had some of those symptoms at different times as well: insomnia, heart palpitations, trembling hands, muscle weakness, etc.
Avatar m tn Last month the ultrasound showed that the two nodules had grown from 7 and 9 mm to 8 and 10 mm, and the doctor called and said that we need to repeat in three months. My thyroid profile showed TSH 1.39 0.34-5.60 uIU/mL and FT4 was 0.65 0.61 - 1.12 ng/dL. I do not know why they did not do a FT3 test. I have no idea what all this means. I did not get a copy of the ultrasound report. Do I need to be concerned about the growth in the nodules. What OK to wait 3 months to repeat test.
Avatar m tn I know dry skin can be due to poor nutrition but I think I have a very good nutrition because I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, fish with fatty acids, and take daily supplements like fish oil and Vitamin C, so I dont understand why my skin is still dry, even after using Physiogel lotion. Is there any medical condition that can explain this? I'm thinking that I might have thyroid problems. I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.
634590 tn?1293774093 At the start of my treatment my TSH went up to 5.7 and at the end of Tx it was 2.1. After that i did not check it again. My be it is causing this. I have consulted so many skin specialist who recommended some anti biotic.
Avatar f tn Prior to that I had had problems with thyroid eye disease requring orbital radiotherapy and had unsuccessful radioiodine treatment. My operation was very stressful with complications and I have spent that year getting well. I gave up my job this July as was very stressed. I had noticed that I had been having diarrhoea motions at stressful times then but it settled once I stopped working.
Avatar f tn In this a small amount of allergen is injected in the skin of the forearm and response of the skin is seen. If there is redness and erythema then the skin is allergic to that allergen. Also get your T3, T4 and TSH levels evaluated. In addition to zyrtec and Claritin, you should carry an Epi pen. You can also go in for immunotherapy (allergy shots) if the symptoms persist. Pls consult an allergy specialist/immunologist for the various options. Regards and take care.
Avatar m tn I suggest you see your your doctor about the sudden need to increase your meds and the hair and skin problems. You might want to check out our Thyroid Forum. The good folks over there may be able to tell you what's going on. But I do recommend you see your doc. I, too, have just been dx'd as prediabetic and I know exactly what you mean about being shocked! There is no history of diabetes in my family and my blood sugar has always been at a good level.
