My symptoms intermitently over past 4 years are peeling skin on fingertips that is painful. the skin first becomes thick and yellow then peels off a layer to fresh painful skin. My finger nails are also thicker than they used to be. My heels are also peeling and painful. Have used antifungal on feet. Doesn't seem to help. Take plenty of good fish oils and borageoil. I also found out I have Hashimoto's, but am not on meds yet because thyroid levels ok. Any ideas?
My son, now 32 years old, has a long term, undiagnosed illness and, in the early stages of it, he developed an odd, yellow layer on his skin. It almost looks scaly, although it doesn't feel like it, and it comes back quite quickly after being washed off. It doesn't look as simple as mere dirt (it's very yellow as opposed to black) and covers his legs and torso, but not his arms.
I have photos but, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to do so.
Went to stay with an old friend out of state and HE became abusive - I became scared, depressed, couldnt gain weight, started ;noticing my skin looking kind of yellow tinged on my stomach, and my skin becoming dry, thin on my hands, my hair started feeling very dry at my scalp and somewhat falling out. My face would get a lilttle puffy, my eyelids kept swelling up.
My daughter is autistic and had several red spots on her head last week and then on Friday woke up with a swollen eye that turned to a bruise as the day persisted. We have no idea how she got these red spots or bruise. Her scalp now looks yellow and behind her ears as well. She hasn't had blood drawn since 11/11/11. We took her to the doctor back then because she easily bruises for unknown reasons. Her blood work came back with TSH, 3rd generation of 3.28, T4 free of 1.
We even tried to see if it was Gluten related and that was ruled out. The skin on her fingers is turning a yellow-ish color, is extremely rough, and even peeling. She tells me that sometimes she loses feeling in said hands quite often, and sometimes her feet. Also, whenever she goes outside, and might sweat from yard work, she bleeds through the pores in her arms. If anyone knows anything about these symptoms and what might be causing it..please let me know asap. Thanks for your time.
I have been experiencing fatigue, very dry skin, yellow/pale face, weight gain (20 lbs in 1-1/2 yr), several colds since January, and the worst is severe depression. Some days I just don't want to get out of bed with no motivation to do anything. I received my blood work results back, with high cholesterol (220), triglycerides (198) and a TSH level of 10.1 with a note that states "Increased TSH suggestive of hypothyroidism".
I drink lots of water, my lips are rarely dry or chapped, and my skin has excellent capillary rebound, so I know that I am not dehydrated. I do have asthma, which I take meds daily for. I am also low-thyroid, so take Armor thyroid 120 mgs daily. I am 60 yrs old, female, have a estrodial ring, clear skin (other than a few skin tags), very dry, brittle hair, am 30 lbs overweight. I live in a rural area, sleep with my window open except in the coldest times, and am at 7150 ft. elevation.
Anyone else have very dry skin i cant stand how dry my hands are.
also have used vicks vapor rub trying to get rid of the skin folds, when they open back up they are very painful with yellow centers and red outside edges, the strange thing is these black particles or pebbles pop out of my skin when pulling and stretching outward trying to get rid of these skin folds so that my skin does not feel so tight. recently took terbinafine which seemed to help some in eliminating the some of the skin folds and white mark scars.
In the past month I have noticed some VERY weird conditions in my skin color. Primarily in the hands and sometimes extending to the forearm at a lessor degree ---- They get yellowish/bronze/orange (in order of predominance). This comes and goes --- one minute yellowish, 5 minutes later mostly gone. Then see it in one hand but much less in the other ---- and then it switches so the other hand is more yellow.
And I only found this out becuase I went to the ER and one reason I went the ER was because I was yellow. My eyes and skin were yellow. I was acute and cleared on my own. If you are acute they say those that go as far to show jaundice druing the acute phase have a better chance at clearing on their own.
libelluia, I'm not finding any places where yellow skin in pregnancy is nothing to be concerned about. Specifically, I'm finding sites where it says it IS something to be concerned about.
Are you reading actual medical sites, or sites like ask.com where participants just sort of guess an answer?
