I started having fever about 3 weeks back with swollen tonsils and ulcers. I was diagnosed strep throat and started taking medicines but after 4 days, my fever went up to 105-106 range. Test results showed no strep throat, flu, swine etc. I rushed to emergency and they diagnosed me for Pharynogontonsillitis. For a week before I went to emergency I barely could swallow anything. I grew weak and they gave me Glucose by drip and also Decadron.

I've had a swollen tonsil for almost 2 weeks now, and had 2 shots of rocephin , and am still taking azithromycin....typically when i get a sore throat , a shot starts working over night usually.....now both of my tonsils are inflamed....it's like the antibiotics aren't budging the tonsil...my throat isn't sore,...i've had a low grade fever once or twice....i'm lost.....

but the glands in my throat have been swollen (pea sized) for about 3 months now, the back of my throat very red and tonsils seem enlarged . 4 weeks after I had white spots on my tonsils, low grade fever 99.5- 100.4 it was off and on. alittle chills no much, sore throat and cough. negitve strep and mono test . this just sucks.

I had unprotected oral sex (both giving and receiving), with a transsexual partner (MTF) of unknown STD status 5 days ago and now I have a low grade fever, dry mouth, mildly tender throat, minor flu-like body aches, and white spots on my tonsils reminiscent of tonsillitis/pharyngitis. Symptoms included sore throat, swollen tonsils, neck muscle aches, swollen glands, low grade fever. (99.9) and discharge in the back of throat. Sore throat started to go away after about 3 days of treatment. On the west coast gonorrhea is treated with cephalosporins and Doxy for chlamydia at the same time. After the 10th day of treatment, I was noticing that the sore throat returned, and my low grade fever still persists. A white discharge is constantly seen at the back of the throat.

I've been suffering with chronic sinusitis for almost a year and a half - long story short, I ended up with sinus surgery and having tonsils removed. Bad, bad situation - couldn't swallow, couldn't eat, lost a ton of weight etc., etc. I've been doing better but I just can't get my appetite back and my stomach is contantly sick. Dr. says that all will heal in time but it is frustrating.

I'm scheduled to have my shunt revised / replaced on the 17th ... but for the past couple months or more I've had a low grade fever (I usually run about 97. it's been 99 - 100 ... not even worth a doctor visit) and really the only thing that bothers me about it is my eyelids always burn when I have fever so they haven't stopped burning. And I noticed yesterday that there is a blue/grayish spot on my left sclera (the white of your eyes) ... it is definitely new.

I few years ago I started running a low grade fever and had painful swollen lymph nodes. I went to the Doctor, who did a full workup. Lymph node biopsy, hemotology consult, infectious disease consult, cardiologist, echo (I've had endocarditis before). Nothing out of all of it. Finally, I got dental insurance and went to the dentist. Six months after my wisdom teeth were pulled, the fever went away. That was a year ago. All my dental work is done and my mouth should be in good shape.

Hi , I am 26 and have been suffering from repeating low grade fever. In a year itmigh repeat several times and persist for weeks too. Recently I have been suffering from it from 4 week and above . The fever is around 98.6 or 99 or 99.5 or sometimes 100 during evening and persist for one hour or so and then starts decreasing. In the morning too sometimes I feel feverish a bit. I never had a fever in my life that lingered like this.I have tried everything to break this nasty low grade fever of mine. Taking cool/cold baths, fever reducing meds (Ibuprofen)--still does not work. Calms the fever down for a while, then comes right back. And including using a cool compress on my forehead & eye area--that does not work either. Only for a few--which is a great relieve! Do you think the infection has spread else where? or I might have something else going on in my body?

I got a sinus infection shortly after and went through 2 rounds of antibiotics. No ARS symptoms. But for the last month I run a low grade fever from about 10-4 everyday. I tend to run on the colder side 96.7 - 97.4 so for me 98 would be a low grade fever. I know oral transmission if highly unlikely but I am concerned that I keep running warm everyday. It has never happen to me personally, but I have taken care of many patients it has happened to. The joint pain is pretty typical, but I would report the "chilly all the time and low grade fever" to your Oncologist as soon as possible. Have your counts been checked recently?

Do any of you with Hash's run a low grade fever. I hang around 99.1-99.3 consistently. Is this normal for Hash's. I can find no other explanation....

If you are still having a fever, I would consider calling your physician, as it appears that the antibiotic is not working. If you are congested, then you might want to try a product that helps me. It is called NeilMed Sinus Rinse. The product is inexpensive and available at most drug stores.

Is a low grade fever normal with diverticulitis flare-ups? After three months of doctor's offices, specialists, blood tests, scans, mri's...now I have a fever to add to the mix. I was diagnosed with gastritis (endoscopy), so far. Gallbladder emptying at 47%, no stones or sludge...checked out due to pain that was throbbing under right rib. This week the pain has moved to left side, rib to hip. Hurts to breathe deep, wear a belt, sit, or anything that jars my abdomen or touches it.
