Swollen eyelid pus

Common Questions and Answers about Swollen eyelid pus

swollen

I woke up one morning to find my left upper-eyelid to be itchy and watery, though not swollen. After a day or two, it became swollen, watery, and very itchy. Even my right upper-eyelid became itchy too (not swollen though). And now, after a month, although the itchiness on my right eye has greatly subsided, my left upper-eyelid still remains itchy, with a lump in the corner of the eyelid. The lump is not red, not noticeable unless when touched, not flaky, but still very itchy.
Swelling in the upper eyelid and / or lower eyelid of the left eye. No problem in vision. No pain, no pus, no redness in eye. The swelling increases especially during sleeping time, when the eyes are closed. During the daytime, when the eyes are generally open, the swelling generally decreases but when ever I sleep or close my eyes for about half an hour, the eyes again swells. This has been happening for almost a month and half.
My right Upper Eyelid has been swollen since 8-9 years. The swelling either increases or remains a little swollen but has never diminished completely. There is only pain when the swelling increases. I have no other problem other than this i.e. constant swelling and pain when swelling increases. Have shown to doctors, they say it is an infection, pus is collected in my right upper eyelid, tried with eye drops Toba DM but swelling did not go.
i got a pimple on the edge of me lower eyelid any suggestion how to get rid of with out getn something in my eye?
If I go to sleep it continues to swell until my whole eyelid is swollen shut!! It happens in either eye....I usually take a large amt of benadryl and try to stay awake until it goes a way...24-48 hours depending how swollen it got....After the swelling went down, my other eye began to swell the next night....Usually it only happens to one eye but sometimes both. I have just learned to live w/it miseably because no doctors seem to help...
I don't know what is on the bottom of my inner eye lid. It has my eye swollen and it does hurt. It look like a stye and did have pus come out of it .
My top lip is swollen from underneath and I have tiny pus like things when I pull my lip down tight on my teeth My Doctor has been wonderful trying to get to the bottom of this, He has sent me for numerous tests 1) a Indium scan which showed a infection in my face He put me on antibiodics but had no, relief 2) MRI Orbit/Face/neck It showed my Parotid glands are mainly fatty replaced ?? 3)Scan done with lemon drops showed my glands were not working the same on both sides.
Hello, I just took my daughter to our family doc for a swollen kinda red eyelid on 7/2/08. Doc said it is conjunctivitis or bacterial infection. My daughters eyeball is not red and there is no drainage. On 7/3 her kinda red eye lid is now a very red/reddish purple color with a little swelling. Is this truly conjunctivitis or is this more serious? Is this a staph infections of the eyelid? Thank you for your time.
So, I've already posted a few times, but here's an update: my internal hordeolum (stye) on the insdie of my upper right eyelid came to a head (was all white) today. Later, when i looked, I noticed it was "draining". Now, when I look, it's hardly white (if any at all) and is just back to being a bump, but red (again, doesn't appear to have any pus in it). does this mean Im "on track" to full recovery?

Well, the day after I tried 'popping' what I thought was the stye, my eyelid really hurt and was swollen, as the day continued I looked at my eye in the mirror and thought I had an awful lot of 'eye gunk' what was really pus coming from my eyelid. I went to the pharmacy and had the pharmacist recommend some over-the-counter eye drops for my eye, which she told me contained antibiotics.
Felt like something was irritated at the base of my eyelashes. Woke up yesterday morning with a swollen eye lid. Still swollen today and eye lid is red. I was thinking that it might be a stye but there is no little bump anywhere on my eyelid. I have been applying warm compresses throughout the day. Think this is a stye forming or something else? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
The doctor told me that I had a clogged hair follicle in my lower eyelid. Is that some medical term for a boil??? Its only swollen and hurting and there is no presence of any boil "head" or acne looking skin problem. I beleive they call it the carbuncle. She prescribed terramycin and I will fill it out tomorrow. but does any one know what I could use besides a hot compress (she prescribed that also) to help relieve the swelling. I tried that, but its like the pain worsens.
hello, i just had my chalazion drained today. I still feel the bump under my eyelid. My question is, will this bump eventually go away in a few days or did my doctor no drained everything? My eye lid is sill swollen and I was just under the the asumption that the bump will be gone right after the surgery.
of the left eye still is swollen and red from the stye, though it doesn't really hurt anymore. As for my right eye, when it was infected again 5 months ago, it looked as if it was hit by 3 styes in a row, with white heads all over the lower lid. When the infection resolved, it gave way to a pimple near my lower lashes that would produce pus from time to time. At 5 months, this pimple has ceased to do anything, except look red and swell a little (it makes the lower eyelid kind of puffy).
It turns out that both my eyes are actually getting smaller over time(not due to illusion by swollen eyelids). Ive tried numerous antibiotic drops and allergy drops to no avail. I feel as if this fracture is opening more over time accompanied by pain and burning because I can feel the gap getting bigger as months go by.
First I started getting it on my eyelids. The biols on my eyelids used to be very painful with blood and pus discharge. The boils came one at a time and I will get another one after the previous one has healed completely. Let me tell you here, that I wear contact lens. I observed that the day I wore the lens, within twenty four hours a boil would appear in either left or right eye. Now I have stopped wearing lenses and the boils are gone from eye.
My lips become extremely itchy and swollen. Sometimes the itchyness spreads to my eyelids and the skin around my mouth (chin, below the nose). It does seem to be triggered by stress, sunlight or rubbing (as in kissing). The episode usually last 4-5 days. I can feel a flare-up coming on because my skins starts to feel irritated. I do have the cold sore virus, which in the past was charecterized by a single, large blister. but I haven't had one of those in several years.
Hi, My clever and brilliant 8 year old nephew had an accident about 1 year ago in which he tripped and poked his left eye just above the eyelid. Since he’d missed the eye itself, we didn’t consider it serious and only later took him to the hospital. There was pus coming out of his eye so he underwent surgery to have his eye checked and for any foreign particles/obstacles etc to be removed.
Hi, I just went an eye doc. yesterday due to a swollen eyelid and was prescribed keflex, an oral antibiotic for an internal hordeolulm (stye). Anyway, I've taken 2 pills so far and was wondering. 1. I now have a "discharge" coming fromthat eye...it's clear, but it's definitely a new development since I got put on the antibiotic....is this the "pus" from the stye releasing, or could it besomething else?
(chancroid symptoms usually have only a few limited ulceration, with other few symptoms that i am not suffering from) 7 days or more has passed, i have also infected my right eye with these black-centered sores, i can see one sore is on the bottom of my eyelid, and seems like starting to grow a second one, my eyes are swollen and has clear pus coming out continuously and forms a yellow crust after time. and also finding out my right glands on my neck are swollen too..
Two days later I was back in his office, with my eye swollen almost shut, my eyeball redder than I've ever seen, and what looked like a blister on the outer corner of my eyeball. I also had developed a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in front of my ear, and under my jaw. The doctor sent me to an ophthalmologist, who gave me steroid drops to use in addition to the antibiotic drops, and had me come see their medical doctor the next day.
on the 19th of january i gave a guy unprotected oral sex (no ejaculation) and also recieved oral sex, after roughly 1week i developed a minor sore throat with slight pus near tonsils, pus in lower eyelid.
Well, everything went fine and the dryness with the inflammations resolved but the first or second night after using the Refresh PM my eyelids became swollen for most of the following day and this lasted for the duration of the treatment ( I think it was like 2 weeks or so). It seems that one of my eyelash gland sucked in the Refresh PM and it got stuck with it. It happened the first or second night. After a month I went back to the same location at work and this time the other eye got dry.
About 6 months ago, a chalazion developed on my top upper eyelid. Now, about 5 months after the swollen and redness has all ceased, I'm left with a hard but not VERY noticeable bump. I first noticed it was there because my eyes are now uneven due to the creases being messed up - the one with the bump seems "fatter" than the other one, thus making that eye look smaller.
He has been on antibiotics in form of drops, ointment and most recently oral antibiotics and the eyelid is still red and a bit swollen. What can we do? and is there a chance that this could be a form of eyelid cancer should we be concerned? Thank You for your time.
I was on so many tablets and antibiotics that I was feeling dizzy when I walked, headaches and my face and eyelids became swollen. I went to another doctor who told me to stop all medication and sent me to a gynecologist. The gynae said I had a bad case of thrush and I am now taking iodine pessaries. Three days later I have noticed like a sore in my pubic hair but not sure if it's an ingrown hair as there is hair in the centre of it and there isn't any tingling or great pain associated with it.
The pimple have not disappeared after three weeks and I’m still using the cream. The eyelid looks very slightly red and swollen. When I wake up in the morning there is a slight bit of watery clear discharge . I have no other symptoms; no burning when urinating, no flu , no cold sores , no rashes , no discharges and no std like symptoms apart from this eye issue Now four days later after my eye infection my wife developed symptoms like vaginal thrush.

I used to research exhaustively on the internet about other STD's, a month later i noticed a small boil on my eyelid near the eyelashes, i already have Folluclitis, but i was worried it could be herpes I minutely checked my penis to see if there were any bumps, i saw tiny bumps around my penis I took a herpes(1 & 2) test again after a month, both came back negative.
