If not, can it be lessened any way?

I have Graves' eye disease, not bulging eyes. Mine is swollen eyelids. My vision is blurry and it has worsened over the course of three years. My thyroid eye specialist said that there is a thickening of my muscles behind the eyes. I get double vision and extreme sensitivity to light. If I'm in the sun too long, even with sunglasses, I see bright white spots. I'm wondering if anyone has the same Graves' eye disease I did, swollen eyelids and what the prognosis was?

My left eyelid and extending up to the bottom of my eyebrow is always swollen. I had an eye exam, normal, cat scan, normal. Yet it is noticible enough where people at work ask me why it is like that. If you palpitate the area lightly you can feel I guess what you would call extra tissue. I am tired of looking like this. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? My GP and ENT both said the CT Scan ruled out a tumor. Thank you for any advice you may be able to give me.
I had cosmetic surgery a year ago. the right eye was excessively bruised, swollen and painful. the surgeon injected cortisone on two ocassions. Now the eye looks like I have a "shiner. the top of the cheek is lower than the left so facial symmetry is lost. the tissue under the eye is atrophied. the skin is very thin and painful like a burn. there were numerous blood vessels which he has cauterized. the eye remains painful which causes me to fear muscle damage.

It is painful to the touch, and when I wipe it with a tissue, it feels like there is alot of pressure around the inside corner of my eye. the bone and soft tissue surrounding the globe (eye) are sensitive to minute injury. the short answer is yes, you could have injured this, but I believe it should improve. My recommendation is to first confirm that your vision is not drastically reduced, then use conservative therapy such as cool or cold compresses. Also, you may use preservative free artificial tears (OTC). Should you experience a sudden or significant loss of vision then seek care with an ED or ophthalmologist.

I'm 58 years old, and for the past nine months have been trying to find a diagnosis for my condition, without success. It's related only to my left eye. Essentially, the conjunctiva is swollen considerably, and there is also swelling in the area beneath the left eye. I have had every medical test possible, including: blood tests for kidney, thyroid and liver problems; MRI, CAT scan.
My question is this, why am I still having trouble seeing clearly from this eye? I know that my retina is swollen, everything I've tried to do to correct this has not helped. I am scheduled to have a steriod injection in 3 days. Do you think this will fix it for good or is it just a short term fix?
the pain got progressivaly worse. It felt like piece of glass rubbing in my eye when I blinked or moved my eye. My eye became very red and irratted. I went to my GP the same day ago was found to have a large scratch on the white of my eye. I have been taking Voltaren Ophthalmic for the pain and another eye drop to prevent infection. the pain and reddness of the eye has decreased significantly. However, today my vision is blurry in that eye.
