My cat has an infection in her left eye that is concering me. She has had it for about 2 weeks now. Her acual eye looks fine but, she has a green discharge coming from her eye. She can open her eye but, she mainly keeps it closed. I don't see any swollen tissue in or around her eye. I was going to put "Equate's" version on neosporen on her eye because I read online someones vet said it has the same ingrediants as a medication they use for their eyes.
My cat was attacked by a dog last evening.His face on one side was swollen and one eye lid was shut.
I kept him warm and applied warm compressors to the side that was swollen.Today the swelling has gone down considerably and the eye is open.He is eating soft food.I am concerned about him ,wondering if his jaw is fractured ?
I do plan on bringing him to a vet.But I was wondering what you think?
I get dizzy if i bend over too fast, reach down, and am developing pressure on my right eye. My hand-eye coordination never very good has gotten much worse. I will pick up an object and have it fall out of my hands. The lumps or lumps are getting much more painful. Most food tasts yucky. Can one get bumps just from stress? The tenderness extends from the back of my head, where I fell in the second concussion to my right temple. It is affecting my hearing as well.
I glanced in the mirror, and on that side, my eye was swollen and that eye was REAL dilated. In fact, my nose was kinda runny and my face in general was a little swollen. An hour or so later, when I looked in the mirror again, the eye was back to normal, matching the other one. So, I assume that the fluid, that had accumulated from solid sleep, had drained.
Last night I had some allergy issues. This is not unusual because I have a cat that I'm allergic to.
Anyway, my eyes got all itchy and watery like they do. I put a cold pack on it for a few minutes then took my allergy medicine and went to bed like I've done many times. When I woke up this morning the eye is still more red than normal, it's watery, and it still feels puffy. I know it's not night allergy since the cat doesn't come in the bedroom.
My cat came home with a hugely swollen left eye/face/jaw.No visible external wounds.He didn't eat,drink or move for 3 days.We couldn't afford a vet, so I've been giving him antibiotics at home, as well as eye droppering water into him.His demeanor has improved and he is eating again, but his eye is still huge and as it was swollen open for so long (still is,with the pink meat over half of it) it seems to be "dead" now.It looks plastic and he can't see from it at all.
I have just paid almost $1000.00 on the other cat and I am starting to run short on funds. Please help.
She said two of the tests there were some count of white cells.. The vet put my cat on two drops of liquid Clindamycin. Now it is two weeks now..I have been giving my cat the drops. The sneezing has not really gone a way yet...I called the vet and the vet lab worker told me to give it more time and to finish the medicine. The vet gave me two bottles to finish... I am really worried about this whole thing ...Hoping that Clindamycin will work...If the Clindamycin does not work...
It took 8 weeks of watching her and limiting her activities, it was like trying to keep a 2 year old child under control, but she is not limping or acting like it bothers her now at all. She is a totally indoor cat, there was no way I could have kept an eye on her if she was inside/outside.
It is never too late to take your kitty to the vet. Even my ortho vet said if the crating didn't work, they could still try to fix the bone a couple of weeks after the accident.
don't use burn ointment, kitty's lick this off and its not meant to be ingested.....if you have some UNSALTED BUTTER use that instead....
Alright, So my cat is 1 years old and really fat. But his right eye, always seems more closed then then other eye, and he does this weird thing, where he shuts his eyes really tight for 1 second, then does this again as well,
reputedly for a minute then just acts normal again.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Or if it's normal?

my boy cat got bit on his head his head is swollen. he doesn't know better he been scratching and cleaning the swolling side he scratch so hard he made a cute in front above his eye and also hairloss because of the scratching. we been cleaning with peroxide, and putting ointment such as neosporin an bactine and giving him sugar and water. know puss is coming out it like brown liquid.
Keep a super close eye on your finger. An infection can develop quick! Trust me, I've had one. I had to be put on 2 antibiotics.
If you start seeing more redness, get yourself to the ER. They can NOT turn you away. Cat bites are very very likely to become infected-more so than dog bites.
t bother him that is obvious but is it a form of melanoma? Also his eye has never been swollen or irritated, no excessive mucous discharge, no red no anything he just has one big black spot below his pupil and maybe like two very very small ones. The big one seems to be getting bigger from when it evolved, Hopefully someone can help i mean I'd rather look at the spots then have his eye removed they don't bother me I really just want to know what they are.Thanks for any help given!
September 2009, after washing my face and eye feeling irritated, I woke up to a swollen eye. I left it thinking it will settle down by itself. Shortly after I seemed to develop Palsy. The Palsy was intermittent. I had a CAT scan. I was put on Cortisone tablets. This did not help. Then I had to endure a long course of cortisone injections. The Palsy stopped. The upper eyelid became drooped. I was told this was due to nerve damage from the Palsy. However, my eyelid continues to be swollen.
When I found him he was lethargic, his third eyelid was covering part of his right eye and he was very swollen on the right side of his neck. I took him to the vet the next day, I was told her was very sick. We felt euthanizing was our best option. I have felt great guilt ever since. Did he have cancer or could it have been a treatable infection. I know we can't do anything about it now, but I'm curious. Frisky was about 9 years old.
My 8 month old male, neutered cat had swollen anus/bloody streaks on fur around anus 3 days ago. He now is having liquid brown poo. His poo up until the symptoms were noted was normal/formed. He does lick his anus more than normal. He goes outside maybe 4 hours a day. I see no worms. Is eating and drinking lots of water yet. When do I need to take him to vet? Is it safe to wait a couple more days to see if it clears on its own?
I went to another eye doctor who said I have an enflamed tendon on the left of my eye, she called it cellulosic, or something like that. I was prescribed 1700mg of amoxicillin per day. It seems to be helping but the pain meds might be doing it too ( Tylenol and Ibuprofin). My nose is clear but I wonder about a sinus infection. Also I wonder about my cat alergies. Could either affect just one eye? What about a tear duct infection, would that make my eye tendon hurt this much?
