I will sneeze every time, and if I need to egg the sneeze on, I will look right at the light until I sneeze. If I feel a sneeze coming on, I will either look at the sun or a bright light in a room. I rarely sneeze in a low light situation.
My doctor thinks I am nuts, as does my opthamologist. However, my Mom did this (but not my Dad) and both of my daughters do it too. My Mom says that her Mom did it as well. It's very strong reflex and completely uncontrollable.
Now I can’t sneeze at all and when I feel the urge to sneeze, I will think that “I’m gonna sneeze, I’m gonna sneeze” and then I couldn’t because I kept thinking about it. Now I have headache, ear and eye pain which I think might be due to lack of sneeze. I’m always constantly thinking of not being able to sneeze and I find it hard not to not think about it. If there’s anyone facing the same problem as me please get into contact with me. I want to talk to someone.

This will sound extremely bizarre, but I would be grateful if anyone is able to shed some light on this very annoying thing that I am experiencing. It all started when I rubbed my eyes in my mirror 2 years ago, and then my eyes started stinging really badly, and I found I couldn't sneeze for about 2 weeks.
For about 2 years now, I have been experiencing an inability to sneeze naturally. The sneeze builds up, but it never completes.
I had the same worries cux i actually had the flu. But u shoukd be ok just remeber to keep hydrated and try to get some rest. The saline sprays might help reduce some of the sneezing! Hope you feel better!
Rather like a spine sneeze, actually - the way the itching in your nose becomes a sneeze is very similar to the onset of this symptom.
When it was really bad, my arms would pull up into a preying mantis position. I thought spinal myoclonus because of the description - that it's a slow onset that builds up.

My husband had a couple occasions occur where he sneezed and lost control of his legs. He basically sneezed and then he collapsed to the floor. He was still conscious but he says that his legs went numb and that's why he fell back onto his butt..hard!!!! Today I heard him sneeze and when I came around the corner he was bent over and was walking like he was 105 years old with a cane. Not trying to be funny but he was struggling to walk for a couple of seconds after the sneeze.
I also notice this pattern sometimes when I cough or sneeze, but not always, thank you for the insight.
I was @ the neurosurgeons awhile back and although at that time he said I didn't warrant surgery at the time if I felt the same/or worse (continued) that I could come back. So I made an appointment recently. Well my appointment is for the 30th of June. My headaches have been increasingly worse as with my neck pain & face pain. I cannot sneeze or cough without it causing tears practically. Thursday I awoke with severe stabbing pains (in which I have never had this type of pain before).
I have had the test for the Babinski reflex done by two people. One GP and a Neuro. My feet seem to almost recoil from the feeling. Similar to how my feet spasm, my toes pull back and sort of spread out away from each other. I have been told by both that it was a negative test. My question is, this a normal response? I am not sure what is normal and what is abnormal.

I have an extremely hyperactive gag reflex to a point where it triggers especially when I am doing something physical such as running or what ever. It gets triggered off by the constant post nasal drip that I have because of allergies. I saw a doctor in philly about this earlier this month and she found I had a lot of adenoid tissue.

Most likely possibility in your case could be a sinusitis pain that originates after mucus block or infection of sinuses and appears as a bad headache when you sneeze. That can be resolved after draining mucus from blocked sinuses. Another possibility could be a persistent migraine and aggravation of the symptoms by this. Since you are suffering from this pain from a longer time, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away. Hope this helps. Take Care & Regards.
But got the sneezes at the min and every time I sneeze I nearly wee . Anyone else have this problem ?
There seems to be a lot of fear with regard to white pupil reflex on these forums. Not to say it is something to disregard but it is not a sure sign of retinoblastoma. In combination with other symptoms, it is an indication that the child should be seen as soon as possible by a qualified ophthalmologist or ophthalmic oncologist.
Occasionally when I sneeze I become very itchy all over my body (legs, arms, torso, but nothing from neck up). What is this? Quick Googling kind of hints toward allergies, but I am not very sensitive to them as is. This has been happening to me as long as I can remember, yet I've never seen or heard of anyone having this. It always goes away in a minute or so. Just weird. I get it maybe once every couple months, not sure if it's related to allergy season. Any ideas from you all?
