Seroquel side effects paranoia

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel side effects paranoia

seroquel

Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
1039200 tn?1314912008 This drug has been a complete godsend for mania, insomnia, agitation and hallucinations, but I'm left with depression, no sex drive, intrusive thoughts and the paranoia has now returned. I also struggle with a racing heartbeat after taking it. I have become a recluse, and wonder if the outcome actually outweighs the problem in the first place. I am torn between insisting on changing medication, trying an antidepressant (which last time sent me into mania), or ditching it altogether.
Avatar f tn looks like it will be long term as I have had forty hard years with it all and would like twenty easier ones right about now..am concerned for the side effects of atypicals..would rather minimise risk as much as possible as I am very sensitive to all drugs...looking at buspirone only cos I know what hell a long term Valium regular use withdrawal can be.. But would consider it again if buspirone is considered ineffectual by most and benzos where I will find my peace. Thanks .
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
596143 tn?1226648054 I was on it for about 6 months. The only side effect I had was I was always tired. It never went away. I eventually persuaded my pdoc to take me off it. That was the only side effect though. It did take away hallucinations and paranoia and so forth though. It does work really well.
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
Avatar f tn The short term side effects of concern are generally weight gain and sedation and short term movement disorders (which can be treated with a side effect pill). The long term side effects of concern are diabetes (which can be managed by regular blood tests and maintaining a proper diet) and long term movement disorders (which your psychiatrist can test for).
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar n tn If he has no history of mental illness why is he on those heavy psych drugs? I think he is experiencing side effects of these meds. Get him to a good doctor and get him off those meds.
Avatar f tn These type of side effects are often worse in the beginning but often improve over time. Make sure to inform your psychiatrist about this and they can tell you how to proceed. Part of it may be the interactions between the various medications. Are they in the process of transferring you from one medication to another? Lamictal requires a very slow titration rate but only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics and how they apply.
2010625 tn?1329372056 After I have been awake for a while they have slowly went away I am still a tiny bit dizzy, and drowsy still after 2 cups of coffee I just feel like I am not waking up still feel half asleep. Does anyone know if these side effects are serious or if it is something that will go away as I get use to the medication. I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but it is the weekend and my doctor is not in his office until Monday.
1469703 tn?1372041476 I'm wondering if anyone else here has had any issues with Copaxone concerning side effects other then the injection site reactions? I've been on Copaxone for 3 months now, I am agitated, frustrated, quick to anger. I've also been experiencing paranoia and mild visual hallucinations. I'm getting sick at least every 2 weeks, and have a general feeling of "un-well" or "ill".
605458 tn?1539228808 I used to take regular Seroquel with no sexual side effects. I was recently changed to Seroquel XR and the side effects are so different than regular Seroquel, and one of them is sexual side effects. Anyone else? The other new med I am on is Amitiza, which is for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and didn't have sexual side effects listed. I have been under a lot of new stress lately, but that has never caused this problem in the past.
1696867 tn?1312609591 I started on Abilify for my Bi Polar 2 weeks ago. After 2 days I had to halve the dose, as the side effects were so debilatating (?), but the side effects are still horrendous. I have no ability to concentrate, problems focussing, shake/tremors and no energy at all. The only good thing is that my moods seem better than they have in ages. My question is, how long do I need to put up with the side effects?
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
1039200 tn?1314912008 I lack motivation to do even the most basic things, and I have other side effects. My pdoc believes that this lack of motivation etc is depression, which I'm sure it is but he wants me to increase the seroquel substantially as he believes that it will help. I am worried that this will will make matters worse as I sometimes can't make it out of bed as it is, and am struggling to function.

Avatar m tn Prior to deciding to embark on a medication regimen with Seroquel, please read over the entire prescribing information, as well as speak with your physician regarding side-effects. While not as common as the other side-effects I listed above, involuntary jaw movements can occur causing chipped teeth. Best of luck in your decision.
