Seroquel side effects sleep

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel side effects sleep

seroquel

Avatar n tn Doing so can cause major withdrawals and horrible side effects. I have a link that tells you all about seroquel. I do not reccomend you read it, as it will only scare you off it. I did not even look closely at the page. But I will leave it up to you. Blessings - Blu http://www.rxlist.com/seroquel-side-effects-drug-center.
1246883 tn?1285547973 I immediately started to gain weight. And stopped the Seroquel immediately (mid Dec). I know this is one of the side effects. I gained about 5lbs. Being 5'9" and weighing 135, I felt the 5 extra pounds would come off with eating better and a few more yoga classes . But the weight kept coming. I got down to a dietary intake of about 1000 cals. But that mad no difference.
Avatar m tn But it is the only thing that has worked for me with my sleep problems thus i have stayed on it. Also the side effects of weight gain and some other negative side effects are the reason I would love to get off of it. If anyone knows of any medications instead of seroquel that might work.....
Avatar f tn My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.
Avatar f tn Everyone reacts to medication differently. A medication that might work for me might be disastrous for you. You might have started at too high of a dose or increased your dose too fast, you might be on too high of a dose for your body or it might just simply be the wrong medication for you. I would inform your doctor of these side effects right away if you haven't done so already.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with bipolar a month ago. The pdoc has been working with the dosage of Lamictal. I went up to 150 mg but had severe swelling. He put me on 50 mg on Tuesday. I have not slept well in weeks. I have had an especially hard time since I dropped down, getting only about three hours a night. I can't function on that little sleep. The doc gave me 25 mg of seroquel. I used it last night and slept much better. Is sleep always going to be a problem with bipolar meds?
4592241 tn?1359813138 t go lay straight down and go to sleep and sleep at least two or three hours, my eyes will get blood shot and I can not cognitively function at all. I think I told you but i am not on Abilify. My mom is and she has to take it at night because she feels the same way you do if she takes it in the daytime.
915369 tn?1355314810 Ok so I told my psychiatrist everything that came to my mind yesterday, so most of what's been troubling and how my episodes have been and how long they've been lasting and how severe they are or aren't. She said it sounded like I had rapid cycling, asked me how my low and high I was getting and just kept repeating that they get "severe". I thought I was getting better so surprise surprise for me!
2010625 tn?1329372056 After I have been awake for a while they have slowly went away I am still a tiny bit dizzy, and drowsy still after 2 cups of coffee I just feel like I am not waking up still feel half asleep. Does anyone know if these side effects are serious or if it is something that will go away as I get use to the medication. I know I should be asking my doctor these questions but it is the weekend and my doctor is not in his office until Monday.
Avatar f tn Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?
Avatar f tn Seroquel is one of the 'atypical antipsychotics' that came out about ten years ago. They were first used for serious mental illness like schizophrenia, and then for bipolar disorder, and then for the thing we 'call' bipolar in children, that really isn't bipolar disorder.
Avatar f tn The other side effects you mentioned are most probably temporary and should go away in time. However you should definitely discuss all this with your psychiatrist.
Avatar n tn I've been taking zyprexa for almost 6 months and am still suffering side effects. I get blurred vision and fogginess which makes it hard to concentrate. I'm sleepy all of the time and could fall asleep at my desk if I could. I've had bipolar disorder for 10 years and have never been sleepy all of the time. In the past, prior to this medicine, I've always had troubles sleeping. Does anyone else have the same problems as me?
Avatar m tn It is severe anxiety and this is the only reason I take this drug. The anxiety currently outweighs the concerns of the side effects of the Seroquel (and there are many side effects). This drug is a strong atypical anti-psychotic. It is usually used for BP1&2, and Schizophrenia symptoms. I am not a doc but I do not understand why a doc is prescribing this for a sleep aid. Also I have been on this for 1.5 weeks...the sedative effect is already wearing off in the evening...
Avatar f tn Before that I tried risperdone, haldol, and lithium and had horrible side effects from each. Currently I am at 150mg seroquel and 2mg Abilify (started about 2-3 weeks ago) and I just stopped dalmane 15mg yesterday.. So I had an experience while I was on 200mg seroquel around 3 months ago that I started to feel detached from my self, confused and disoriented. This happened and I my anxiety took over. I wasn't able to sleep more than an hour or two and I was wandering around the neighborhood.
Avatar m tn I also found i would have to sleep at least 10 hours at a time on seroquel other wise you still feel like your a zombie.
Avatar m tn I have been out of work for 2 months with bad anxiety, nightmares, dizziness. My physiologist prescribed zofoft 200mg. My question is about seroquel he has me taken 50mg at night. Is this drug safe and does it work for anyone . Just don't know about all the side effects. Please help if any information.
980052 tn?1262967079 t wake up and get with it for a good hour! I have heard this drug has some bad side effects does anyone have any experience with seroquel ar advice on how long I should continue it, side effects I should be looking for or any precautions? I hear good and bad about it I just want to know what peoples experiences with it have been. I am constantly waking up hungry through the night, it doesn't knock me out completely..which is good I guess it does help me sleep!
802234 tn?1237830136 My 34 year old son is taking 150 mg imipramine, 6 (1mg) Clonozapam, and 400mg Seroquel, (down from 600 mg) per day. His side effects are weakness, irregular heartbeat and eye problems. One of his eyes has gotten so bad that he may have to get a cornea transplant. I cannot say for sure if the meds caused his eye problems, but he had perfect vision all during school and according to my research seroquel has been know to cause lens problems in the eyes.
Avatar f tn this happens to me also tremors left side of body but my tongue moves its crazy to have permanent side effects TD keep trying your not alone ok
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
1168718 tn?1464983535 I am being put on it for sleep, and I have read up on it, and the side effects are kinda scarey. Does anyone have any input? My Dr. is putting me on a very tiny dose to start, as I reacted to Nortriptyline and have been on nothing for sleep for 3 days now. Can anyone give me some help please??
