Seroquel opiate

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel opiate

seroquel

Avatar n tn I could take unrealistic amounts of opiates any opiate but 100mg of seroquel would knock me out cause I took it during my detox to help me sleep.
Avatar f tn Did he titrate down on seroquel? My son took that medication at a low dose for about 2 months. Will say he had no issue when coming off of it. The question perhaps is if your husband is having a resurgence of mental health issues even including a brief bit of psychosis related to his ptsd? Did he begin any therapy for ptsd? My son had psychosis with his depression for a period of about 5 months.
541465 tn?1219427886 avisg is correct, tramadol is a sythetic opiate. While some doctors will deny it, tramadol is just a addictive and hydrocodone or any other opiate, the withdrawals from it are JUST AS BAD as withdrawals from methadone. I know this from personal experience. It may not be technially classified as an opiate, but it works the same way... tramadol blocks the same receptors in your brain as morphine does.
563541 tn?1257877567 My sub doc gave me Seroquel. He said it was for bi-polar, but he gave it to me at 50mgs. for sleep and it really helped me sleep, just a bite out of one at night. He also said that it would linger or last through the day to help with the anxiety/depression. I don't think that has worked as I'm still a basket case. jk...
Avatar n tn Yes, I often recommend clonidine during withdrawals. I also suggest gabapentin, Requip, Seroquel low dose, and Soma if you can get it. Varerian and magnesium are useful as well. It is hard to do it by yourself, so if you run into trouble, read my blogs or look on my clinic website for more info. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn Never EVER take meds from a friend. There is a very good reason that doctors need a license to prescribe meds. Seroquel was NOT appropriate for you to take as a sleeping pill. You need to see your doctor and explain what you've done,. Congrats on getting off the suboxone, as you probably already know...insomnia is one of those things after coming off an opiate that takes a while to normalize.
Avatar n tn I'm sure you're over the wd symptoms that everyone decided to not mention. And GUESS WHAT. There sure is a psycho drug that is out there now to make you feel like you're on percocet. It's similar to suboxone. I'll first start out and tell you why you feel like this. ONE , only 16 percent of people that have serotonin imbalances don't do well on ssir or any serotonin medicine.
980052 tn?1262967079 Seroquel is a legit treatment for opiate w/d's -- but don't stay on them for more than you need them, and if you're taking them for a while, it's advisable to taper off them ... Go to the Seroquel website, and gather as much scientific information as you can -- knowledge is power, blah, blah, blah -- but anecdotal information is a bit dodgy, although in many cases useful. Be thakful you get sleep with it, but when it's time to taper, it's time to taper.
Avatar f tn I was just thinking, my husband started seroquel last week and has pretty much slept since then. As I already told you, he is bipolar. He no longer has anxiety and when he is awake, he is way more calmer than before. Soooo, I started to search the web and found out that they give a lot of people going through w/d this drug. More herion users than anyone else....but they have found that it helps with opiod users as well. Hmmmm, this may have me excited.
Avatar n tn would taking percocet lessen the effects of lithium, seroquel, or lorazepam?
Avatar n tn So i am day 10 of being sober off of a 6 year vicodin habit of 40 tabs of 750mg a day and cant get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. I just got a script from my doc for Seroquel and he says it will help with my sleep and anxiety. But he says it will be about 3-4 days of feeling pretty poor. I am feeling better every day and the last thing i want to do is go through 4 days of feeling like c r a p. I have tried Lunesta, melatonin and benadryl with no luck.
Avatar m tn At home, the basic technique is to space out the pills you take on a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night, than every other night and then none.
1575129 tn?1296004646 he has sent me to another doctor,he has me on tramadol, and it does not work.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your comment. I know its heavy duty-I feel it. I think it's whats keeping the WD's at bay, too sedated to feel the full WD's. I've been taking 1 everynight before bed, helps me sleep and still has a tranquilizer effect in the morning when I awake (hence, no anxiety feelings) I do feel "a bit drunk", but I welcome that until the worst days of WD are over.
Avatar m tn See if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness (it is the very best treatment for RLS or RAS), Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. It will make your withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months.
Avatar m tn In case you are curious, it takes us about three to four days to get a patient off of any opiate including methadone and fentanyl, and feeling well. If you choose to try taper yourself, see if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep and Klonopin which will be helpful for sleeplessness and anxiety.
919276 tn?1268759311 I should have added that the Hospital doctor put me on a drug called Seroquel .. Which is an Anti Psychotic.. I have been on it for 3 days.. It has given me some clarity and allowed me to be reasonable and hold a thought.. but the sedative affects are brutal.. I have an appointment again tomorrow and am going to talk to the doctor about dumping this medication.. I really regret not working hard on myself while I was up .. don't know if that is normal, to have a huge up ..
Avatar n tn Just wondering.....when my husband was heavily addicted to percocets, oxys and valium, he had little or no sex drive....but it took about 2 years to get to that point. ( 60 percocets, 300mg oxy, 200mg valium daily...approx ) When he got onto the suboxone about 5 weeks ago, his libido came back with a vengeance. Now he's on 12 mg of sub, about 20 mg of klonopin, and 75 mg of seroquel. Can someone please tell me what this combination of drugs does to a person's sex drive?
Avatar f tn Has anyone else suffered mild depression when detoxing from opiate meds? It's not really bad, but is annoying enough to make the detox much harder to do. I also have ADHD so I get bored easily or just stuck in my head like sitting (catatonic like) and staring at TV waiting for "it" to be over. I know I should "keep busy" or exercise or something, but I have no motivation.
Avatar f tn seroquel saved me during detox, but i was very agressive and needed the sedation if you want/need detox comfort meds, please see a doctor, that was really dump to take an anti-psyc without consulting someone there are several madications approved for use during detox, seroquel is one of the drugs that is approved for opiate detox, NOT at that dose you are not going to sleep for a few days, suck it up and rent some movies after 4 days you can try trazadone to help you sleep (get a prescription fr
Avatar f tn I have beenbtaking 8 50mg for the past month. I also take seroquel, lamictal, lexapro, st johns wart, l tyrosine all for depression and bipolar. Will I have serious withdrawals if I quit now? Will all my depression meds help soften the blow mentally? Anyone been ok when xeroxing off tramadol??
541465 tn?1219427886 1 mg Clonodine, and 200-400mgs Seroquel everynight. Ive heard that it will make you somewhat tired. But do they mean tired by the time you go to bed, or tired all throughout the day and falling asleep wherever you go. Im just afraid of being sedated. If i feel messed up, does that mean the does of methadone is too high, and if that happens what should i do? This is my first time for treatment of opiates and im nervous...
919877 tn?1250462550 t see it given in alot of detoxes usually trazadone, seroquel, melatonin(which is otc). Sleep will probably be your biggest hurdle but you can do it!! best of luck p.s Obviously you know first hand the true nature of addiction and I would hate for you to battle 20 yrs only to lose in the end...so that said have you set up aftercare plans or therapist??? just a thought???
Avatar f tn I applaud your resolve to get clean, but want to caution that methadone is very difficult to get off of. It is used mostly as an opiate maintenance therapy (OMT) to "treat" your addiction, which simply means that they substitute one opiate for another. If you do decide to taper off, remember that methadone is a long acting narcotic and your withdrawal symptoms will stick around for quite a while. You will feel rotten for as long as four to six weeks.
Avatar f tn 5 today, those things are bad bad bad for opiate withdrawal. i cant imagine why else it would have been such a strong craving unless this is the way it goes??? maybe so, any other oxy users have major cravings still after 14 days? guess it wouldnt be that unusual. im just not sure, 1st time quitter here and hope its the last time.
