Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel nightmares

seroquel

Avatar f tn I was on Seroquel and Risperidone and it caused me nightmares to the point where I would wake up from my own screams (or crying) and I couldn't remember the dreams at all, just the feeling I had when I woke up... I was only on them for a short while (maybe a few days to a week, sorry I don't remember as I was in the hospital and this was 2008) and the nightmares just recently stopped.
Avatar f tn My doctor has recommended Seroquel for my insomnia. Since i am a parkinsons patient, I was wondering if this ,might make my parkinsons worse?
1873039 tn?1320331368 I started taking seroquel about a month ago. At first it worked perfect, because I was suffering from nightmares and insomnia. But, the past few weeks I have been in such deep sleeps I am totally unresponsive to my alarm clock or my girlfriend. Even after I wake up it takes me several minutes to find out if I'm really awake or not. I seem to dream that I am awake and going about my day like normal, but then I actually wake up and I haven't moved from my bed.
Avatar n tn when I was on Seroquel I developed nightmares so I stopped after a couple of weeks (and talking to the DR) but unfortunately I still have terrible nightmares every night... I'm now on Trazodone, 50mg, very low dose, and it knocks me out in about an hour and I sleep fine most nights. I know we can't suggest/recommend any meds, but you can mention it to your DR and see what they have to say about it.
Avatar f tn ive had nightmares since december, the docs put me on seroquel in march for 3 weeks but i couldnt wake up in the mornings when i had to, while on that i didnt dream.
Avatar m tn i have recently got off seroquel for anxiety and i have been off of it for 4 days now and i am itchy, i am having depressed phases, i am very nauseous when does this go away before the 50mgxr i was on 100mg that was 2 weeks ago should i take another pill or just stop like i have been doing?
Avatar m tn I have been out of work for 2 months with bad anxiety, nightmares, dizziness. My physiologist prescribed zofoft 200mg. My question is about seroquel he has me taken 50mg at night. Is this drug safe and does it work for anyone . Just don't know about all the side effects. Please help if any information.
Avatar n tn After my son died 2 years ago my doctor added Seroquel to add to my antidepressants sertraline and imipramine. . I never took Seraquel during the day because it put me to sleep while I was driving and I drove off the road. Another time I fell asleep sitting up while my son's doctor was talking to me. Mortifying. It did help me sleep with no nightmares and I got up feeling great. It is very expensive. First, Is Seraquel addicting? I started taking it only at night.
Avatar f tn will seroquel effect women sexually? i have searched the internet with no luck. i would be interested to hear other side effects as well. also, if anyone would like to tell me their experiences (both good and bad) with the drug i would really appreciate it. thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn t that hte same thing) 1 mg 1/2 to 1 pill twice a day, and the new medication, they took me off trazadone 100 mg 1 pill a night to Seroquel 25 mg 1 to 2 once a day. I've got a few friends that take seroquil and it's been a medication where they couldn't function with the medication (including my sister and have had to change because she couldn't funtion the next day), so my question is this. Is there anyone else taking seroquil right now, or have you taken it in the past?
Avatar f tn Seroquel is NOT an antidepressant, an atypical antipsychotic med and is NOT appropriate to be used as an insomnia aid, especially when it wasn't Rx'd to you. You need to see your doctor. Depending on the dose you were taking, you may be in some danger. This is why you NEVER take meds off other people. Especially with a history of addiction, you're looking to self medicate. Sometimes doing that will lead to very bad things.
Avatar m tn m afraid to sleep in the same room with my wife due to the nightmares and that I might hit her in my sleep. I also feel like I have mini shocks through my body, very anxious and down. I used to really like my doctor but now she is so busy our visits are 3 - 5 minutes. appointments with new drs are 6 months wait. I'm sick of all this and ready to get off all these meds since I've started off the zoloft. Can anyone advise me how?
Avatar f tn However, I did read an article published by the maker of Seroquel acknowledging withdrawal symptoms. If word comes out that Seroquel is physically addicting and causes horrible withdrawals, people probably wouldn't be eager to take it and sales of the drug could drop. Seroquel is huge right now, this website is covered in ads for Seroquel. As far as the insomnia, I took Seroquel before bed because of how sedating it was for me. After 2.
Avatar f tn Hi mamaruns are you by any chance on seroquel? i had nightmares on seroquel and if my husband so much as touch me during the night i would hit him or scratch him and yes i am bipolar.
1168718 tn?1464983535 hi everyone, was just wondering if you guys have had any trouble with Seroquel? I am being put on it for sleep, and I have read up on it, and the side effects are kinda scarey. Does anyone have any input? My Dr. is putting me on a very tiny dose to start, as I reacted to Nortriptyline and have been on nothing for sleep for 3 days now. Can anyone give me some help please??

4738473 tn?1360035798 Being off them for two weeks already is a brilliant achievement and you should be proud of getting to far. I was imagining only a couple of days! What are they for if you don't mind me asking?
644988 tn?1236364548 Does anyone have any good advice or ideas that have helped them to deal with bad dreams and nightmares. when I was really ill last year I went for several months without any dreams (p.doc said this is normal) however now I get runs of nights where am plagued by horrible dreams- always different but common theme of shame/guilt/inadequacy. I have worked out that this is sometimes worse if I've had a glass of wine but not always. Also, obviously worse when I'm less good than when well.
202665 tn?1248806733 so now they have uped my seroquel, i take 450mg of seroquel XR at 8pm the at 9.30pm take 300 normal seroquel. its such a high dose but it is helping. i get the worst depresive lows and it is helping abit. i also take lexapro 20mg in the morning. i can understand how you feel about taking meds to seem normal to other people.its not fair no one can understand what its like.
1114269 tn?1258680912 Thanks folks for your answers. I have tried Seroquel and had a bad cardiac (tachycardia) response to it, and that class of drugs in general is not good for me (have had same problems). I'm also having problems with Ativan at the moment, have been taking 1mg at night every night for about 8 months. If I don't take one, I have the most horrible violent nightmares ever. So I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn I was paranoid right before I became psychotic and manic. It lasted for months. I had nightmares for years though every night. Horrible ones where they effected me throughout the day. When I was paranoid, I thought everyone was out to get me including my boyfriend my friends and my own family (I am very close with them). I didn't realize how paranoid I was. Medication is the only thing that helped me. I hope you see your doc asap before it gets worse.
Avatar m tn well, i've tried psychiatrists before, but they did nothing for me. i found it a waste of money and time... i've tried xanax (illegally) and it helped ALOT with my anxiety. its just very expensive and illegal to use without a prescription... but i dont really know if that would exactly be my best option... im definatly going to speak with my doctor about the trazodone though.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Seroquel (quetiapine) for about four months and I haven't had but a few breakthroughs of mania or depression in a few months. Plus the added benefit of knocking me clean out when I go to bed. The only thing that I don't like about it and this is something to look at if you start experiencing this, is it gives me very vivid nightmare.
