Sensitive teeth sinus infection

Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive teeth sinus infection

teeth

I am currently fighting a sinus infection and I've heard sinus infections can make your teeth hurt by do they make them sensitive to cold liquids- it doesn't happen with air either just really cold liquids. It seems it's 2 or 3 teeth on my upper left side. My next appointment to get the fillings taken care of isn't till September- I can't get in any sooner because it's a county health department and I can't afford to go to a private dentist. Any thoughts?
i had sinus problems and my teeth were aching a little. My teeth are no longer sensitive now but a hard lump is now on the outside on one of my bottom lower teeth. What could it be?
Seemed to think problem was other than tooth-- possible ear infection or sinus infection. He gave me two perscriptions. I then went to see my primary care Dr. who examined upper respiratory system. He seems to think I have a sinus infection but said it could also be start of shingles. He converted my dentist's perscriptions to vicodin, azithromycin, & MucinexD. Still much pain 12 hrs. later. Hope this stuff works. Your comments?
I got a sinus infection (Staph. & Pseudomonis) when I had my teeth cleaned in 1987....resulting in 15 surgeries, I.V. med. about ever 8 wks. 2003 had IV's (home)for six months; '04 one yr. solid. Would like information re:complete sinus obliteration & if it has to be done can plastic surgery repair the damage to my face. Also need info re:"Mushroom Catheter/w.Stent" for drainage which was the last surgery done on me Nov. 14,2004 followed with continued I.V. med.
I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned. Could allergies have led to a sinus infection? Can the sinus infection cause dizziness and fatigue? Due to the holiday weekend I haven't been able to call my doctor, but after 3 prior visits he's never suggested sinuses to be a cause.
I have taken all the antibiotics and still have the cut (a little infected) and the teeth sensitivity and still the sinus infection. But now I have cloudy urine and have been having night sweats and a pain in my right side just under my ribs. Not sure if any of these symptoms go together or if I have separate things going on. Do I need stronger antibiotics, wait and see or what? Any suggestions????
I know from research that maxillary sinus issues can be the result of either tooth infections or sinus cancer or some other sinus issue so I may be asking too vague a question. I appreciate your thoughts and time. Thanks!
I have been to the dentist and he said that I may need a root canal done on my upper front teeth because he could see an infection in x-rays of the area I've described. I never got this done because of money/lack of insurance. I work full time now and just now got health insurance. My employer will partially reimburse me for dental expenses but I have to pay for them up front. I'm wondering if I should go to a doctor and get a referral to an Ear, Nose & Throat doctor (is it a sinus issue?
I've had a sensitive tongue & tanslucent teeth since I was a small child & lived with them my whole life. Toothpaste, mouthwash, soda, & spicey foods all burn & I can't eat anything warmer/cooler than "just above/below room temperature.
I have been getting dizzy, I have pressure in my face which causes my upper teeth to be sensitive when brushing and also sometimes when I am eating, I taste soap. Are these symptoms of a sinus infection?
when i got home, a friend told me to get my nose checked in a lab for i might have a sinus cancer for he knows someone who got diagnosed with sinus cancer. And that freaked me out a bit. I might get anxiety because ofmit tho not sure) Again, they gave me same amoxiclav (500mg this time), and a decongestant but nothing for allery this time. I started taking the medicine on the same day. But on the 26th, I woke and noticed I already have tinnitus.
I, too have a lot of trouble with my teeth - and have several auto immune diseases. I NEVER had any trouble with my teeth when I was a kid - I was 20 or 21 before I even had my first cavity! Have you been checked for or does your doctor think you may also have Sjogren's? One o fth esymptoms of that is a very dry mouth (as well as eyes and other mucous membranes) and of course a dry mouth is more apt to breed germs that can cause tooth decay.
Fast forward to the last year. I've had a sensitive spot in my left sinus; facial pain, tooth ache, swelling, extremely watery eyes; I can actually feel something in there. And I get mild to intense sinus headaches. I generally don't feel well. Being on antibiotics helps some, enough for me to get going throughout my day. The doc won't send me for a CT scan because I had one in 2008 & 2009??? Too much radiation?
i hav been experiencing sharp pains which start in my jawbone and travels to my nasal cavity and my ear as well as the crown of my head and somtimes my back left shoulder which is also the side the root canal was done. the teeth top and bottom of my left have become extremely sensitive. my eating habits have become limited bcuz of the pain.
I am acutely sensitive to cold air conditioner. The effects are immediate and the colder the air the worse things are. This is followed by a thumping headache and painful soreness in the eyes and nostrils. Further exposure can result in heavy nasal congestion and pain spreading all around my eyes, jaws , teeth, And headache. The problem started after my open heart surgery for an aorotic valve replacement, and I am on coumadin therapy for life time. With my primary Dr.
-) I had always known that sometimes with sinus infections, my teeth would be sensitive, but never did I realize just how close they are related!
Sinus infections often take more than one round of strong antibiotics to completely get rid of. I get at least one horrid sinus infection every year and I ususally have to take 3 courses of antibiotics. My EENT does not recommend sinus sprays as they tend to have a rebound effect. In other words, the more you use them, the WORSE they make the problem! I have proven it to myself a number of times. He now recommends using a Neti Pot and it's been a Godsend as far as I'm concerned.
One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well. You may also get a splitting headache, felt most intensely in the forehead. • Sphenoid sinuses.
hi 28yr old female, i have been dealing with a severe sinus infection for about 2 mos, severe pressure in face and ears, swollen, painful lympnodes on skull, i have been put on augmentin, predensone, vicodin for pain and now another anitbiotic levquin, nothing seems to be helping, had a ct scan of sinuses, doc says it is definatley sinusitus. i am scared. has anyone had the lymph node problem before. any advice on what to do next? i feel like i am losing my mind. thanks.
Right after I thought I had a sinus infection so went to the doctor and was put on antibiotics. I felt a little better but still stuffy, and my ears seemed plugged as well. Since that time I have been to the doctor several times. They have told me it's allergies (I have never suffered with them before). I am also aware that allergie can arise at any time in your life and I do live in one of the worst places for seasonal allergies (GA) but this is ridiculous.
I have had frequent sinus infections for the past 10 years. I often experience some pain & pressure in my upper teeth, but never enough to prevent me from chewing, etc... Three weeks ago I developed yet another sinus infection & the most INTENSE tooth pain I have ever felt. It seemed to be especially bad in a tooth that actually has had a root canal. I take three Vicodin a day for my fibromyalgia, but they did not even begin to touch the pain.
Aching, pains, and Weird like burning sensation around my eyebrows (more dominant on the left side) left temple which feels sensitive (i can actually feel something in my teeth when i touch it) Nose Runs on occasion and i'm coughing up a fair amount of pleghm (no traces of blood or any discolourment, although can be clear and very liquidy sometimes) Can be very irritable, sensitive to some high pitched sound and lights that seem to bring on the symptoms worse!
One morning when my allergies were very bad, I felt pins shooting through my arms... I had the flu and a sinus infection a month ago- I took antibiotics as well... I also have the behind the eye twitching feeling... I get allergy shots...and I drink a protein shake made by AMP every other day. I've used the oven for a heater this winter... and I am under more stress than usual...
ordered CT scan for next week to see if there is still some type of sinus infection. I still continue to have sinus pain on right side, especially around jaw and can feel pain in my top teeth. I also discharge a LOT of rubbery, thick mucous from the right side of my nose since the surgery...I never had anything close to this consistency before the surgery. Is is possible that I have had some kind of complication from this surgery that would be causing all of these frequent infections?
In a way, you could say it was a combination tooth abscess/sinus infection since it affected both areas. Along with warm warm salt water rinses, try placing a very warm, wet wash clothe over the cheek and nostril several times a day.
I wasted 5 years of sinus infection treatments prescribed by a primary care physician, when I should have seen an ENT even to diagnose me with a sinus infection. I would rather for my ENT to tell me that I have a sinus infection, than my primary care physician. The sinus problems we are experiencing is CRITICAL to our overall health. DO NOT ignore the signs. See a specialist immediately, so you can be on your road to recovery.
The right tonsil had actually got a little bigger after a serious infection I had about a year ago, before my teeth started to ache. It did cause some pain for some time but then it simply stopped (but remained a bit swollen - still, neither the GP nor the otolaryngologist suggested removal). Now, what did I already do about it: I consulted two dentists, who filled two (rather small and inocuous, as they said) cavities. I thought it would help, but it didn't.
My famirly doctor says I have a sinus infection and I am on my third course of antibiotics. I have had many sinus infections in the past but the pain has never been like this! It hurts to chew, suck on a straw, swallow, move my neck to the right, and talk. Lortab 5 pills only subdue the pain to a bearable pain. Most of the pain seems to be in my cheek area and near my ear. The pain started to subside about four days ago, but it has returned with a vengeance.
Hi I have been suffering sinus headaches for many years and have had at least 10 surgeries to clear congental abnormalities. Over the past five year I began suffering facial pain severely which they thought was the trigeminal nerve. My pain managment doc would not accept just a neuralgia diagnosis b/c all the lido and marcaine block he did only aggravated the nerve so he figured infection or a something physically impinging the nerve..
I had my impacted wisdom tooth removed on 10/01/2011 (UK) and the surgeon said it had 4 roots instead of 3. 3RD molar was on the lower right hand side of my jaw.I was awake throughout with just injections & happy gas (nitrous oxide) to make the process more comfortable. Had incredible pain a few hours after & extremely sensitive teeth around the front of my lower teeth (incisors) still have the sensitive pain ,especially when it's been cold outside .
