Common Questions and Answers about Sensitive teeth sinus infection

teeth

Avatar n tn I had what seems to be a bad sinus infection for a few days. Headaches, my teeth hurt, etc. I felt what I thought was a hard pimple on the roof of my mouth. It seemed to go down a bit, assessed by my tongue. Today I went to feel it with my finger and it's like a hard and boney spot. Could this be a result from the sinus infection? From what I've read it sounds like what's called a TORUS?
Avatar m tn Big yet shallow. Very sensitive. The slightest scrape or rub (eating or brushing teeth) causes it to bleed. Now a chunk of the raised skin surrounding his has peeled off and is bleeding. No recent oral trauma. The second sore is inside my top lip above my two front teeth and looks like a traditional canker sore.
Avatar f tn I work in dental and have been doing the studies between teeth and sinus as I myself have no infection lesion on my root tips but do have pain in a tooth. with a retention cyst sitting above the tooth. if when they take the X-ray there is an infection I would go ahead with root canal. if the root tip is sitting in the floor of the sinus I would then ask to see a ent before commencing with a rct. asking the dentist to first get an opg will be a good indercation on if you may have.
Avatar f tn It seems like my allergies are pretty severe this summer, post nasal drip everyday sneezing, would it be advised to go to an allergist I am have bouts of pain under the right cheek pain where the sensitive teeth are. I have all my xrays, not sure if the ones I posted are correct side. Thank you for your reply, I am ready to pull the 3 teeth and call it quits, then I really wouldnt be eating.
Avatar f tn Its been months and I have felt no pain But now I have a sinus infection. Even though there’s no pain could it be the tooth?
15266454 tn?1439488014 A root canal I have the post in poking into my right sinus and causes me to have a sinus infection that I have had for years now. Also to get rid of a lot of sliver fillings. Has anyone pulled teeth and had great results on the MS side of things?
Avatar f tn Your body has more blood in it and your mouth get sensitive my teeth/gums always Bugs me when I'm pregnant and so for sore throat is your nose plugged I all ways wake up with dry sore throat bc my nose is all way pluged
Avatar m tn The amoxicillin is used to clear up a sinus infection and if the problem is solved, then it basically means the sinus was causing your pain. The teeth can feel pain or sensitive due to the closeness of the roots to the sinus. If there's no decay, then its possible there may be a fracture or some trauma has cause the pulp inside the tooth to die, resulting in pain/inflammation/irritation.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a sinus infection while pregnant? If so, were you able to take anything? Im 11 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel miserable.
Avatar n tn There was a small amount of blood on my floss one time. I do have sensitive teeth and sinus problems with some congestion and a sinus headache but that is subsiding. I plan on contacting the dentist but should I have cause for alarm??
Avatar m tn Hi there, The back teeth are in close proximation with the sinus. There is a thin bone separating the sinus from the roots of the teeth. It can happen during tooth extraction that a piece of bone comes along with the sinus in cases when the tooth is close to the bone because of infection. There can be perforation also. There can be fistulas also sometimes.
Avatar m tn However if it is tooth infection then even an extraction may sometimes be necessary. If the infection is in the upper teeth then it can aggravate the sinus problem. Discuss with your dentist. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Could this indeed be a sinus infection caused by the abcess? Could I have ruptured a sinus during that coughing spell? Could the sinus infection b taking this long to clear up? The headaches are all on my left side. There's sensitivity on the inside of my nose (on that side) and up into my left temple. The pain intensifies upon movement, coughing, sneezing, and bending over. I feel like I have fluid on my ear still as well.
Avatar n tn Help...years ago I had a large sinus cyst in my left max. sinus. I had it removed and felt great for 2.5 years. Then out of nowhere fatigue hit; for some reason I got antibiotics (its been years now so can't remember exactly what the original symptoms were.) After a zpak, I'd feel great for 2 mos. Then I'd get hit with aches, pains fatigue, AND swelling in my sinuses. Fast forward to the last year.
1492418 tn?1289149263 Ever since I have had this taste in my mouth and that tooth is still sensitive as well as that sinus but no longer hurts. Is there any home remedy for this??
3183999 tn?1344645418 I have had frequent sinus infections for the past 10 years. I often experience some pain & pressure in my upper teeth, but never enough to prevent me from chewing, etc... Three weeks ago I developed yet another sinus infection & the most INTENSE tooth pain I have ever felt. It seemed to be especially bad in a tooth that actually has had a root canal. I take three Vicodin a day for my fibromyalgia, but they did not even begin to touch the pain.
Avatar n tn It aches on and off during the day and night (i live on ibuprofen to help dull the pain). The crowned tooth and now even the surrounding teeth are sensitive to hot/cold and bitter/sweet. Teeth around the crown have shifted and are our of alignment. If I rinse with salt water, it hurts. It is soooo sensitive. What could be wrong?
Avatar m tn Seemed to think problem was other than tooth-- possible ear infection or sinus infection. He gave me two perscriptions. I then went to see my primary care Dr. who examined upper respiratory system. He seems to think I have a sinus infection but said it could also be start of shingles. He converted my dentist's perscriptions to vicodin, azithromycin, & MucinexD. Still much pain 12 hrs. later. Hope this stuff works. Your comments?
Avatar f tn Sinus infections can cause pain or pressure on the teeth. One of the possible side effect from a sinus infection is that the person may start breathing through the mouth. Mouth breathing promotes a dry mouth, and a dry mouth can increase the risk of dental health problems. Saliva in the mouth helps digest food and wash away the bacteria that can cause tooth decay and gingivitis. The best way to get to the bottom of your sinus issues is to see an ENT.
Avatar f tn Did you ever figure this out. I've had this twice. Starts with a sinus infection, a bad one. Can feel it in my upper teeth & face. Fever, chills, headache, nauseous, then itching and pretty severe hives on my arms. My doctor who is a clinic doc didn't think they were connected, but when it happened again the exact same way, I now think ALL the symptoms are connected. Just a note, the hives start before I sought medical attention.
Avatar f tn I have a sinus infection too. Have had it for 10 days :( I went to the er last Friday and they gave me a z-pack and I finished it Friday and I still am having problems. My doc said once you hit the 2nd trimester, you will have more sinus problems bc of blood flow or something..
Avatar n tn Try to get in to see the doc. No use feeling lousy all weekend. I had one sinus infection with no real congestion but really bad head pain and headaches, which got worse if I bent over.
Avatar n tn Both conditions cause a lightheaded feeling or stuffed head feeling. And a sinus infection can cause the teeth to hurt. (I actually get a gum infection with my sinus infections.) If you have an infection, only a prescription of antibiotics will help.
Avatar f tn That is why your teeth can hurt when you have a sinus infection. How long ago was your surgery? It may take time for everything to heal. Get a second opinion from another dentist if you feel that your dentist isn't seeing what is wrong---or there may actually not be anything showing on the x-ray right now to alert him to something going on.
Avatar n tn Immediately as the numbing was wearing off I felt an excruciating pain unlike no other. My dentist said I had a sinus infection and prescribed antibiotics and tylenol 3. The pain was acute and chronic and has lasted these past 3.5 years at times excruciating and at times low grade and always extremely sensitive to hot cold and lately even to lukewarm water. Recently it has become excruciating again and he has given me antibiotics again. Throughout the last 3.
Avatar f tn I just did a diary of the last few years and I have had 26 infections over the last 8 years. Last year I had had two abcessed teeth, a sinus infection, and Strep throat that has not gone away. I have had chronic strep throat for 6 months now. It responds to antibiotics but never goes completely away. I have very small tonsils and lymph nodes and the doctors do not even think I have strep until they do a culture. The highest my temp gets is 99.6 no matter how sick I feel.
Avatar f tn With some antibiotics, it should be able to clear up your sinus. If not, then you could rule out a sinus infection and look at the teeth again.
Avatar n tn The medial wall inside the right side of my nose is still inflamed (4 days), the soar above my front teeth is now almost gone (4 days), and my ear still hurts if I touch it (4 days). So all of my sinus issues occurred on the same day, which really got me motivated to find out what's going on. The pain on the right side of my neck is every single day, and I cannot continue to live like this! I need some sort of advice on any diagnosis or treatments?
Avatar n tn I consulted a dentist and he assured me that my teeth looked fine and that i most likely have sensitive teeth. I began to brush with sensodyne and it seemed to help a bit. The pain comes and goes but has been pretty intense recently. I also recieved an antibiotic for sinus infection after seeing my primary care doctor, which did not help my problem at all. (which ruled out sinus infection in my opinion, probably wrong with that assumption).
