I suggest that you have this assessed by your physician. This requires further evaluation. A seizure disorder and some underlying conditions such as an anemic state, hormonal imbalance, and cardiac disorders have to be ruled out. I suggest that you inform your parents about this so that you may have an appointment with your physician. With regards to your headaches, have you had your headaches before? Or are these recent onset and sudden onset headaches?
I am 26 and a male, I have a medical condition I've had my whole life that causes me to blackout. Doctors diagnosed it as seizure but after years of test and a better understanding of the symptoms forced them to rule them out. The problem is that every now then suddenly out of the blue I have a sudden boost of mental pep of hype without any noticable physical symptoms.
Certain types of epilepsies and seizures too can cause similar symptoms. However, even low blood sugars and other causes can precipitate a seizure. If you have an accompanying headache then you must also look at benign intracranial hypertension. Heart problems too should be ruled out in your case. If all other tests are normal, maybe an ECHO should be done to rule out mitral valve prolapse. Patent foramen ovale too could be the cause (commonly known as hole in the heart).
and can't remember what he did for the past few minutes, how he got to particular place or room in the house, etc. I'm thinking these are some kind of seizure or symptoms of withdrawal from alcohol. The problem is that for the past 4 to 5 days, he has been experiencing numbness and tingling in his head, face, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and feet. He says it feels like when your extremity "goes to sleep".
Splitting headaces, hangovers that are horrible, like shaking inside, weak muscles, vertigo, discoordination, ironically feel like I'm going to have a siezure, and most recently blackouts. Monday I found myself wandering around a park about 9 blocks from my house at midnight in 25 F degree weather. I have no idea how I got there. When I "came to" I began to have severely obsessive and dark thoughts, and couldnt sleep due to my brain in overdrive. I half remember walking home.
Both the events were the same and at the same time,no other symptoms except for a headache, which went after he had a cup of milk and biscuits. This time again his EEG showed the same mild abnormality.Doctor prescribed tabs for 3yrs.We still don't feel it is Epilepsy and have not started the medications. He is 11yrs old, will be 12 in sept. or a feeling that warns about the coming seizure, and the loss of consciousness could be the seizure. Unfortunately in between episodes the EEG may be completely normal. Again you may have to be monitored for a longer period of time to actually catch these spells and record them. I would suggest that you start of by seeing a cardiologist. Once issues with the heart are ruled out, then the next step would include neurological testing. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
Hello, I orginally posted something similar in the Heart forum but wanted to see what people thought here as well. I've been having issues with blackouts/greyouts. They occur quite suddenly when I'm either walking around or just sitting.
I was diagnosed with MS two years ago although Ive had sypmtoms for 16 years, since the age of 10 I have been having blackouts with seizures which for many years doctors maintained was in my head and for me to stop blacking out!!!! during my pregnancy i couldnt walk properly and my left leg was in pain and very weak and it was hard to put my body weight on it.
She got really hot and sweatty both times and turned a sickley greenish white after her blackouts. Her arm and hand twitched the first time and the second her head and eyes twitched. I'm a little concerned about this. Does it sound like passing out or fainting spell. Or more like a seizure? both times the actual "epasodes" lasted about 30-45 seconds.
You should see a doctor about your symptoms to determine what it could be for certain. Unfortunately, it does sound migraine-like. A co-worker of mine would have the vision disturbances due to migraines. You have my total sympathy.
You can actually get seizure like symptoms from drinking. You affected your cerebellum and it probably caused your body to want to throw up*Reject* the alcohol causing convulsion like symptoms of your body trying to rid itself of the alcohol(assuming you had already thrown up everything your body could at that point). You are lucky you are alright because when your body is trying to eject the alcohol in this manor it is usually caused by alcohol poisoning.

I just recently came back from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where they are still unsure what is wrong with me. I am going back this week to see a seizure specialist to see if maybe that is the cause... if not, I'm back at square one. I'm hoping maybe someone else has experienced some of these symptoms and can give me another direction to look! So this all started in August... I took my daughter to the fair, was watching her on the rides and suddenly felt sick to my stomach.
It still sounds like some type of seizure disorder to me. Look at the evidence. Sometimes every neurologist disagree with each others diagnoses. This in tern is not good for you and your situation. I am a 54 yr old male and I was diagnosed by a common doctor of having Generalized Anxiety Disorder way back in 1975 so, they put me on Anxiety medications but, the seizures still came along just the same.
(She did not fall) She has done this in the past in public where she will sit down when she is not getting her way. She has also had blackouts when our arguments have gotten heated at home and she is acting out. She will then go limp for a few seconds and then she is calm and remorseful. This most recent incident, we were unable to get her to respond. We had to get help to put her in our van. I took her straight to the ER, thinking she was “faking” or on drugs.
I haven't heard back from my neurologist about the tests, and I'm worried about these new symptoms. Are these symptoms of seizures, or something more?
I have been plagued with strange recurrent health problems all my life- from bouts of dizziness and nausea, anxiety, isolated muscle twitches/spasms, hypoglycemia, anemia tendonitis, a strange swelling of my thyroid during my high school final exams that disappeared magically three days later (the doctors said it would undoubtably have to be drained), undiagnosable stomach ailments that hospitalize me for a week or more, and a general feeling of tingling/physical nervousness that leaves me fee
I have had full blackouts since the 2nd grade where my eyes go black and my body runs toward things. I have asked many doctors over the years and they don't know and accuse me of lying so I stopped bringing it up. I have had urinary incontinence in middle school where I peed on myself in class and couldn't make it to the bathroom on time. That lasted 3-4 years and was horrible. I was very good at hiding it... always brought a jacket to wrap around my waist and wore dark jeans.
I am the mom of a 16yr.old girl who has been dealing with lots of the symptoms I see posted here in the forum. I have never been part of a group online like this, but am desperate to find out what is causing my daughter's problems. Just to give you a background.....In 09 She received a concussion in a soccer game after heading a ball- she did not get knocked unconcious but she staggered and was out of it....then she had 3 episodes a couple months apart ....
I was only out of work for 2 weeks and during that time was somewhat out and about. Symptoms of a new illness presented in March, starting with a canker sore, and progressing to flu like symptoms. I noticed greenish/brown mucus and tooth pain and went to doctor for an anti-biotic (I think Bactrim). I took the antibiotic which seemed to clear up what I thought was a sinus infection but I still wasn't feeling better and my glands were very swollen (they still are too a degree).
I can be tired after 12 hours sleep! Can I be suffering symptoms from my thallassemia. Does any one else feel the same way that I do? This is a little bit hard for me, but I don't want to complain.
No i haven't been tested, i read about MS, among it's symptoms was seizure and it doesn't happen with me, so I excluded it from my options, do you i should reconsider it??
It is possible that you suffered from a non epileptic seizure since your EEG was normal but your symptoms were those of seizures. This type of seizures can occur due to hypoglycemia, migraine, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and syncope and tics. One sided throbbing headache seems to indicate migraine. Migraines can cause blackouts also. I would suggest you to consult your treating doctor and discuss these possibilities as soon as possible. Take care!
I have been having low blood pressure and having blackouts. Some of the times I end up passed out on the floor and usually a little flopping episode like a sezour. Can anyone help me know what its from and the cause?
