Common Questions and Answers about Seizure symptoms video

seizure

Avatar f tn This will not last for more than maybe 5-10 seconds. No other symptoms. He has been doing this since he was about 10 months old. Could this be a seizure and should we take him to his doctor?
486038 tn?1300066967 Do I need to seek testing? I have had several possible seizure last fall, they ranged from several seconds (were I would just stare in space and not speak) to several minutes (where I had an aura before had that felt like something washed over me and then I was seperated or a bit detached and I could not speak and afterwards had a terrible headache) and these were witnessed by my mom.
Avatar n tn Hi, I sincerely feel that the symptoms which you’ve described are suggestive of partial seizures and levetiracetam(torleva) is the right drug for the same but I feel that you may not be getting adequate dosage of the same and hence there’s incomplete cure of the symptoms. I think you should discuss with your neurologist regarding increasing the dosage of Torleva which may result in an improvement of your symptoms.
Avatar n tn My thoughts are possibly Simple Partial Seizures leading into a Complex Partial Seizure. However; she still has a lot of symptoms of Psychogenic Seizures and somewhat of a Secondary Generalized Seizure. The biggest factor that throws me off is the duration of these “attacks.” Please, what are your thoughts or opinions on this case? If you have any more questions of detail, please let me know, Thank You.
Avatar f tn She has what we call episodes she zones, he body shakes mainly her extremities, she gasps and bubbles come out her mouth and nose. We have a video where her eyes widen really big at the end and then she's back so to speak. The last one was really bad. We have Neuro saying GI and GI saying neuro. She is about to so tons of GI tests. Does any of this sound like a seizure in an infant?
Avatar n tn For months my Jack Russell Terrier has been having seizures/muscle spasms. Symptoms such as: A few seconds of his muscles spasming - sometimes it seems to be just the back legs, and other times the whole body. Occasionally, he will start to fall over, but can sometimes catch himself. Sometimes he will stand quietly and looks from side to side before the seizure starts. At other times he will seem to freeze for 30-60 seconds -- as if he wants to finish laying down, getting comfortable, etc.
Avatar f tn As far as the twitching goes, it is not localized, it is very broad and very much looks like I am having a seizure. I do have video of a few of the episodes, but I do not know how to put them on here. The SLA's are severe enough that we have decided it is not safe for me to drive because we do not know when I will have an attack or how bad it will be. One of the writhing attacks were so bad that I fell out of bed.
Avatar n tn mostly at night (laying down seems to effect something). Nothing shows up on EEG.... Lots of weird symptoms. if anyone knows of a good reference of symptoms could you post the URL please? I am only now looking into the symptoms.. it has quickly gotten much worse this year. Having a difficult time understanding all that can be affected by this disease.I have it due to Psuedotumor Cerebri. Thanks! Also wondered if having Chiari makes you at greater risk for injury if you hit your head.
Avatar n tn - voluntary motor or sensory function involvement suggesting neurological or other medical condition - presence of psychological stressors prior to onset - malingering or factitious disorder has been ruled out - no apparent medical or drug/substance related cause - there is significant distress and occupational and social impairment - no apparent mental disorder as the cause of symptoms How would you describe your husband's seizure-like episodes? What happens?
Avatar n tn an event in the next few days so that we can look at the EEG and video to see if it's a real seizure. If she has a spell and the EEG is completely normal, then it's unlikely that these are really seizures. They may represent stress, psychological problems, or even cardiac problems (although usually there's an EKG attached too). Psychiatry, antianxiety/psyche meds or counseling may need to be initiated.
Avatar n tn she was taken off of the seizure medication and placed on inderol to control her heart. The seizures subsided, going from 2-3 a week to 2-3 per month, then slowing to 5 a year. Her doctor said she may outgrow them, or they could get worse during puberty. She will be 15 in June this year, and she has had 2 seizures in the last week. Her symptoms are first a severe sudden headache to the side of the head, and the feeling that someone is sitting on her chest and putting a pillow over her face.
Avatar f tn yes depakote is an anti seizure med. there are many anti-seizure meds. could be that one isnt working for her. was one of the charges for selling xanax? jane tell her it is very important that she be honest with you at this point. tell her that nothing will suprise you. going forward you need to know so you will also know how to proceed. she will be calling soon. it is after dinner.
969132 tn?1249327851 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIu1TI961XQ I am female, 21 years old with asthma and overweight. I had just lost about 35 pounds (from working out and eating healthy) when this all started to happen, and now it is so bad that I can barely walk around my house and take care of my kids, let alone work out with the vigor that I previously had. I still eat healthy but am not losing weight. About 1 year ago I had twins and lost quite a bit of blood but have since recovered.
8439435 tn?1398133408 Other times I have spinal jerks with these symptoms (sometimes severe). It takes several days to recover from severe episode. One seizure left my complete right side stiff for days ( I drug my leg to walk). I have never had cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, abuse of any kind and I'm healthy other wise. For some reason some grocery stores, Sams and Wal-Mart trigger symptoms. Neuro/Doctors always act stumped or try to quiz me for abuse etc. since EEG came back good, I was symptom free during EEG.
Avatar n tn ago) and an eeg showed mild left sided cerebral dysfunction, so I will be having a video/eeg for a possible seizure disorder. I have Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, so if nothing is found with the video/eeg I may be getting a Reveal Monitor (implant)to look for another arrhythmia. Now, my rheum is send'g me to a neurosurgeon because of a cervical spine MRI. This is where my question stems from: My rheum says that turn'g my neck just the right way can make me faint. Can that be?
Avatar n tn Last night he suddenly fell to the floor and had what we thought was a seizure. I called a friend whom is a vet and we thought that the visit could wait until today. He had foamed at the mouth, convulsed, and then was fine as quickly as it had started. About an hour later, we fed him dinner and when eating he began foaming at the mouth excessively and then began running through the house like crazy as fast as he could. Again, all of a sudden he was fine.
Avatar m tn It would be very helpful to capture one of these events on video as well as EEG and see there is any seizure activity. Also, the time between the events would be helpful as well for any interictal (between seizure) activity. These may be related to seizures, but they may also be behavioral. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
1570846 tn?1295833227 When he's having a seizure one side of his mouth rises abnormally. and then he goes into full Tonic Clonic seizure. But as I said.. your DD's could be a once off seizure. I know of so many people that have a seizure and never have another one. You are going through such a tough time and I know exactly how you feel. Last year was like the year from hell for our family. My son's illness and my dear Mother's illness. And I know the feelings of guilt. But you do have to let them go.
Avatar n tn I want to thank You for Your answer, The results of MRI are completely ok , EEG is ok when she was having a seizure , after the seizure the EEG was not ok. But the doctors don't know what is it. During the seizure she is avare of all the things that are happening around her but she can't control herself. She get's cold and her body get's cold, her skin turns yellow ( slightly). When she starts choking her parents have to performe a Heimlich manouver to get her to breed normaly.

Avatar m tn My daughter has been having "seizure like" episodes now for 2 months. she has had 16 of them in this time frame. She gets a feeling about 30 seconds to 2 minutes before she becomes unconscious and unresponsive. These warning signs before hand are lightheadedness, dizziness and blurred vision. When she becomes unconscious she is unresponsive for anywhere from 15- 22 minutes.
Avatar n tn Based on the information shared by you the commonest possibility of these symptoms is a seizure disorder. Headache is common after a seizure. Other conditions mimicking seizures are conversion disorder, panic attacks and migraine attacks. A complete history and neurological examination will help in arriving at a diagnosis. An EEG helps to detect changes in the pattern of brain waves. Sometimes a video EEG may be recommended which records EEG pattern during a particular time period.
Avatar f tn Slurred speech? Seizure disorder? hyperreflexia? Really horrible pain in the stomach if you hadn't eaten in a while??? Excruciating hunger pains? Don't know exactly how to explain it, I have been doubled over in pain if I do not eat when I am hungry. Spastic muscles, twitching thumb and other areas on my body along with buzzing feeling. This is all so crazy to me. I need to get some info. on Igenex?
Avatar m tn I have never heard of a vet requesting video of any dog behavior, as normally when people bring in seizure dogs, the vet will keep the dog for observation himself, and so any seizures can be treated immediately. I'm NOT a vet, and you description alone has told ME plenty to give you good advice on this. Back to possibilities: I have seen seizure dogs have their first seizure, pop out of it before the vet could run down the hall, and appear to be fine.
Avatar f tn He was having these seizure like symptoms every 3-4 hrs a day and then it went to every a 1 1/2 hrs on his 2 day there. Doctor said he was not sure what was wrong, but that it didn't seem seizure related. Most of the time he he was conscious enough to hear us and nod a head sometimes or moan.
Avatar m tn My husband has been having strange symptoms for the past 4-5 years. He has never had any of them checked because everyone tells him he's crazy when it comes up. He's 20, and 6'3, and weighs 200lbs. He's in great shape, and he works out regularly. He eats a very healthy diet. When he starts showing symptoms, I guess I'll call it having an "episode", they can last between a day or two and three weeks. The first thing is his mood swings.
Avatar f tn im a 17 year old male who's been on & off different medications for 3 years before i tried "vyanse" last last year at around this time. I went from 20mg to 30mg then to 50mg & took it till the end of may then stopped because of summer. I again started taking it in August & took it 5 months straight, & actully had increased its dosage to 60mg early December. I ran out on the 21st & stopes taking anymore until January 3rd, the day we came back from Christmas break.

Avatar m tn Recently many of the same symptoms have returned. Should I call my neurosurgeon or have mri done first. Anyone heard of symptoms returning basically overnight? Had blockage in 2001 and they did patch, removed part of C1 and electronic shrinking of the tonsils. Numerous ct scans have come back negative for syrinx and they can find nothing wrong. Can the patch eventual.y fail.
