I have just had a discectomey on the L4-L5 lumber spine two week ago. The disc was herniated to the left side compressing the L5 nerve. As the years have gone by my symptoms have gotten worse. Last time I was at neuro was when My foot on my right side started to twitch uncontrollably along with my toes. A lot of times, an electric shock feeling in the legs or ankle would be due to damage of the peripheral nerve. It can also be due to disruption in the lumber spin for electric shock feelings in the leg. More information would be helpful such as your symptoms and what proceeded this.

I still have the foot drop on the right leg. At times I limp on the right foot as I cannot put pressure on the big toe due to pain. Will this and the pain eventually go away? Do I need physio?

I still suffer from the same problem, a pain kind of on top of my foot where the foot meets my shin, but feels like its in the joint. I like to stay active so I try to go walking and running in town. Halfway back from my walk it hurt unbelievably bad. My hips would not stop popping. I noticed that if I even push down on my hips it feels extremely painful. This only happens when I walk, run, or even ride horse. I don't have any clue of whats causing it and can't decide if I need to go to the doctor for it. Please help!
