i'm really not feeling right....i think my anemia is going way down...sometimes i feel scared to close my eyes...feels like i might not wake up...i'm in bed now i would say 18 to 20 hours a day....i'm on 1200 riba...can i cut down to 1000?...btw i live in the sticks 1 hour to a small hospital and 2.5 hours to a big hospital....my daughter is calling up my doctor too see what they say....so can i reduce the dose????????????????

s one of those subtle changes that impacts even a walk in a dog park. A neighbor (a dog lover) got knocked down by a friendly dog in a dog park nearby and broke her hip. That's crazy.

if it takes a couple weeks to get procrit....what are the other options before stopping tx...do you get blood transfusions once or twice a week??i already cut down on my riba from 1200 to 800....i know you can't stop the pl...i'm not doing good at all....almost all the time in bed now...thanks...

thats vl...then und at 8 weeks and und through the first 24 weeks of tx...i wonder what my chances are of staying und...if its like 95 percent und..but if i go another 24 more weeks its 98 or 99 percent und..then is the 3 or 4 percent worth putting my body through this???,..what about possible long term sides??..long term sides made worse from being on tx.an extra 24 weeks...and we all know new tx will be coming soon that are better....week 10 is a tough one...

Riba has a really long half life, I got this from Wikipedia: The mean half-life for multiple doses in the body is about 12 days, but very long-term kinetics are dominated by the kinetics of RBCs (half-life 40 days). RBCs store ribavirin for the lifetime of the cells, releasing it into the body's systems when old cells are degraded in the spleen.

Just curious- are you doing SOC (ribavirin and interferon) for 48 weeks and if so, is there a reason why your doctor is not considering triple therapy for you which usually means shorter treatment times? 24 weeks vs.

I just looked up all of the side effects of Pegasys, Ribavirin and Incivek and none of them lists tinnitis as a side effect. However, I also have worsening tinnitis. I am on Wellbutrin and Wellbutrin can cause tinnitis. I had the tinnitis (from the Wellbutrin) before starting triple med treatment. However, the tinnitis has definitely worsened since I have been on the triple med treatement (only 2 weeks).

Hi folks, been almost 2 yrs since my last post. Missed ya! Anyway, was diagnosed about 3 yrs ago & put on Pegasys & ribavirin. After 1 month, doc pulled me off of it, was not getting a very good response, may have been doing more harm than good. Now he wants to try it again, even tho my platelet count is way, way low. I think it may be a last resort. Good news is I quit drinking 19 months ago! :) That might be a factor in reattempting this treatment. Anyone else been here, done that?

I was just wondering how long some of you took the ribavirin after your last shot. I'm going to call the Dr. On Monday and ask. But I'm just a little anxious, my last shot is Mon. night. Thank you!

How long that ribavirin stay's in my system after doctor tells me my bloodwork came out good and i can get of that medizin.

I am running short on my Ribavirin. Does anyone know of any resources? What would be the least expensive way, assuming that my doc won't give my Rx.

to tell me they read my blood work ....it was hgb 7.5....they were worried but i feel ok...have to stay in bed but ok..i'm not going for a transfusion...i think i was quite a bit lower yesterday...it s a little freaky when i get like this i'm laying down at least 22 hours a day....i stopped my riba on sunday..hope to start it up this week.....

Careful with taking antacids containing magnesium, aluminum, and simethicone (Mylanta) with Ribavirin - resulted in a 14% decrease in mean ribavirin absorption. billy Could be your intitial hemoblobin drop was from the Incevik and you are just now getting hit by the ribavirin. Or it could be that it was the ribavirin all along and you just felt better after the Incevik was over, getting rid of all the other side effects. In any event, it looks like you will have to deal with this throughout your tx duration. Shanro is right, start to cut back on all non-essential activies.
