Avatar n tn Ok, I am just into day 2 of quitting ocycodone cold turkey. My doctor decided this was the best way to do it as opposed to weaning. I have to say he was right. this is hell. He pout me on 30mg of cymbalta to help ease the anxiety which seems to be helping however tyhe nausea is really bad. I cant eat, sleep or really do much of anything.
Avatar m tn ive read on here that Neurontin 300 mg works for withdrawals does anyone know how many a day I need to take to releave withdrawal pain and sickness to be able to stop taking oxy?? plus how many days does it take to be on the down side of the withdrawal from oxy??
Avatar m tn Was just curious. Do withdrawal symptoms differ depending on what type of opiates ones using? I meen I'm taking perc. 30's will my withdrawals be different from let's say if I was gonna withdrawal from morphine? Or is a withdrawal a withdrawal? I hope that makes sense! I'm just trying to figure out what I'm in for. I've went through withdrawals from large amounts of vicodin E/S, and ofcourse that was miserable.. Recently I've been doing alot of the perc.
Avatar f tn Hi I have a question I was on oxycodone 15 mg for 3 weeks stop taking them had mild withdrawal had to go back on them for 8 days after I had a back procedure would eyes go through withdrawal again
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forums you have come to the right place sorry to hear about your situation as i was in the exact same spot as you except mine was 2 back surgeries but as for your question the best way to come off of the pain meds is to do a slow ween if you can do that most of us cannot because we cant control ourselves when we have the meds and wind up just taking them to much and not weening off but if you can do a ween it will help in the end by making the withdrawals not as bad or
Avatar m tn It does sound like it could be withdraw symptoms. Usually withdraw last about 7 days. The worst days are days 3-4. Just let him know that things will get better. Luckily he was not on the meds for very long so his withdraw will not be as severe as other peoples on here. He should be fine in no time.
Avatar f tn Well what lies. 14 days out of pain pills. Cold turkey withdrawal. After hell on earth 3rd night mom had 5 mg so I took one. Did this 3 nights. Than friends had Norco so last night took half of 10 mg. My question is this a form of taper or what. I moved out of state I was in 6 weeks ago. So have no ins no Dr etc... How long does this hell last. Oh I'm 55 if this helps. Also have history of major heart issues. So chest now bothering me is just more of detox. Help.
Avatar f tn I take it for numerous reasons...spinal stenosis - but it helps all of my arthritis. I stopped 2 days ago and hurt all over...I do this even when on the meds sometimes but the meds will pull me up. If I increased to 4 a day I am fairly pain free. But my Dr. won't do that so I am trying to just stop. I have fibromyalgia and I started with 3 tabs of 7.
Avatar m tn I'm just short of 60 hours since my last dose of oxycodone. I have no withdrawal symptoms at all -- none. I even slept fairly well last night w/o any sleep aids (except melatonin, an over-the-counter supplement which I have been taking for years). For those who don't know my history, I was on oxycodone for about 3 months. The first two were fairly low dosages (10-20 mg/day) to help me deal with significant sciatic pain caused by a synovial cyst in my lumbar spine.
Avatar m tn And, did you feel the same amount of euphoria on day four, or did you just take it to feel normal and to prevent withdrawal? Also, did you crave more oxycodone to feel that euphoria from day one? And lastly, on day four did you feel any slight withdrawal symptoms while on the 30mg? Answering these questions will help me determine whether you will experience severe, moderate, or mild withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn Cocaine withdrawal is merely psychological, where as, Opiate withdrawal is physical. Instead of reverting to smoking pot or taking another substance like Lyrica, I would suggest looking into vitamin, herbal and over the counter remedies to help you get by the first few days. Magnesium and Potassium both aid in neuromuscular communication, which will help your body alleviate your pain symptoms. Also, get yourself sone icy hot patches and take hot baths.
Avatar f tn I'm 83 years old, female, andhave for the largest part of my life lived with addiction to alcohol and tobacco, but am now off of both with family intervention. Two months ago I had hip replacement surgery with oxycodone prescribed for pain after surgery, and now I can't sleep and have severe muscle spasms if I don't have oxycodone around the clock. I'm going for surgical followup in a few days but need to know how to get off this drug without going crazy.
Avatar m tn If you give buprenorphine to a person who is taking nigh doses of oxycodone, you usually cause withdrawal. I am surprised that you were able to add a buprenorphine patch, while taking oxycodone, without getting withdrawal symptoms. Depression is very common during opioid withdrawal, and is the worst symptoms for most people. If you became depressed when the buprenorphine patch was started, I would not be surprised.
Avatar m tn t have quit. because sub withdrawal is way worse then oxycodone withdrawal without a doubt. and I would not advise anyone to cold turkey quit subs if you do quit just quit the oxycodone I have done that and was only 4 days compared to the duration of sub withdrawal. but can anyone answer my ? that has done it before honestly. thanks in advance.
1094736 tn?1257209688 I am now on Oxycodone for my surgery and have already started to wean off from 30mg per day for 3 days down to 5mg per day for the past 24 hours. 2.5mg morning, 2.5mg in the evening. I am ready to turn my life around and stop taking these narcotic pain killers as well as stop drinking. My question is, how long can I expect the withdrawal symptoms to last after weaning down to 5mg per day for 6 days and 2.
Avatar f tn BUT-- everyone hates opioid withdrawal, and even mild withdrawal is miserable. You will likely experience a very strong desire to keep taking the medication, and an inner restlessness for days that cries out for hydrocodone. I strongly encourage you to stick with your plans though-- the cravings WILL go away, probably in 2-3 weeks (the worst of it will be over after a few days). By the end of a month you'll feel 100% better.
Avatar m tn I want to take ZERO pain meds. After recently finding out what withdrawal was I went through that for a couple days and thought I had the flu but after some research found out I was going through withdrawal from not taking my pain medication because I was not having any pain for a couple of days and that was the last pill I took of the oxycodone I never want to feel that feeling again.
Avatar f tn t want to deal with the pain and the flu at the same time so began taking 2 of the oxycodone a day for the next couple of days. Today I was going to stop again but when it came to the time I normally take it I realized I WANTED to take it and the longer I went without taking it the more I thought about it and started to get a headache and chest pain. I believe I'm dependent on it.
Avatar m tn What are the withdrawal symptoms and side effects from oxycodone? How long do they last?
Avatar m tn Just wondering, been taking 4-5 10/325 hydros for about 5 months. tapered myself down last week. haven't had a pill in over 30 hours. Will w/d's begin or did my taper work well enough. I'm a little dizzy headed and don't feel great , but not to the point where I can't function. my thinking is clear and no diarreah. I feel relatively good. Is it too early or is the worst to come. also I haven't lost my appetite either.
Avatar n tn My back and spine doctor recently retired, He prescribed be oxycodone along with therapy for back problems, herinated disc, bulging discs, si joint deteriotion,;etc, the next doctor I went to took me off of the oxycondone within 3 days, I feel sick, get migranes all the time. Isn't this the wrong way to detox someone who has been on oxycondone for at least 3 years? I can not even do my therapy now because I am in so much pain!!!
