Avatar f tn history with ovarian cysts when younger. having extreme menstrual feeling cramps that last 24/7 and an endometrial strip f 2.5cm. What will obgyn do/look for?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
1639915 tn?1378929213 Hello, Some of the common causes for such pain are Infection or inflammation of the organs present in the pelvis, pelvic adhesions, ovarian cysts, vaginal infections, bladder problems, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney causes, uterine fibroids and pelvic inflammatory diseases (PID) .Endometriosis can cause pelvic pain. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a gynecologist and get an ultrasound done if the repeat happens.
Avatar m tn t t know where to put it so I put it here.
Avatar f tn Hello, There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period.
Avatar n tn Yesterday I woke up with lower back pain and what seemed like menstrual cramps. I thought I was just getting my period because I was due for it yesterday. However, I didn't start my period and the menstrual cramps seemed to get better but then I started experiencing the left ovarian pain instead. My husband and I have been TTC for 15 months now.. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and it came back negative. My temperatures have been low for 4 days now, and no period yet.
Avatar n tn I went to the doctor, because I was complaining of abdominal pain, and the doctor scheduled me an ultra sound. IAfter a week later my doctor contacted me and stated that she wanted me to get aanother ultrasound in two months, because in the report it stated: Findings: The uterus measures 8.8 x 6.6 x 7.3 cm and has a heterogenous echocardiogram pattern. Three focal fibroids are present; the one on the left measures 3.7 x 3.
Avatar f tn The cramping is also periodic and not as painful as menstrual cramps (I have always had horrible periods and painful cramps). My dr more or less dismissed me stating that I was pre-menopausal and this was normal. She did order CBC test and advised that I call if the bleeding worsened. The blood test revealed only that I was slightly anemic. The bleeding stopped for a couple of days but then returned. Just as before and definitely not my period.
Avatar f tn HI. How long has the cyst been there? When cysts are discovered the doctors will normally observe it for up to 3 months to see if it disappears itself, which a lot of cysts can. If it is causing severe pain, not resolving, or if it is suspicious in any way the cyst may be removed or drained. Most ovarian cysts are harmless.
Avatar f tn so today I got called by my doctor and was told I have an ovarian cyst measuring 2.8 cm x 1.5 cm x 2.5 cm ; how big is that in inches? also what are they going to do once I go to the gynecologist because it's causing me pain daily, and really bad cramps during my menstrual cycle..
Avatar f tn Hi, Sorry, I don't know much about the "Mirena".. What does your Dr. say about the cysts? How were they found? You might check out the top right of this page "Health Pages" . It has a lot of information about Ovarian Cysts. Cysts are very common in younger women, but you must ask the Dr. about the IUD /Mirena. I truly have no idea about that.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are common and usually go away on their own. They can cause symptoms of pain or discomfort and can also affect the menstrual cycle since they alter hormones. Some women always have cysts on their ovaries. There's something called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) where the ovaries contain cysts in a "strand of pearls" pattern.
Avatar n tn I did experience some really light spotting in late January/early February. I did get really bad cramps, they seemed like menstrual cramps with light bleeding. I took 2 at home pregnancy tests, the first one was said I was not pregnant & the second one did. Also, I do have about 2 ovarian cysts. Could I be pregnant? Or is my period just acting up?
Avatar f tn These ovarian cysts which start during the normal function of menstrual cycle are called functional cysts which are of two types follicular cyst and corpus luteal cyst. Most of these cysts are harmless and disappear over a period of time. They are usually asymptomatic. In few patients cysts may cause menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain. In such cases medical help should be sought. Large cysts need surgical removal .
Avatar f tn I am 25 years old and 22 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been having menstrual cramps for the past 4 weeks. Plus I'm having pain in my lower back and hips. If I have any pressure on my hips it causes me to cramp. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I found out I had ovarian cysts. I was just wondering if any ladies have had this same problem during pregnancy and if so did it cause any complications or did you have a healthy pregnancy throughout?
1340383 tn?1309990914 also, try maca root as it is an adaptogen that helps to nourish your adrenals and indirectly supports your hormonal balance. you take it short term though. i have had multiple cysts throughout the years, and even a dermoid and fibroids (had surgery to have them removed) and have gone from debilitating pelvic pain and menstrual cramps to NONE. have never felt such a big difference in my body before. let me know if you want more details.
Avatar m tn It really depends on the type of cyst and the size. I've had normal ovulation cysts, benign teratoma cysts (dermoids), and malignant teratoma cysts. The only ones that I ever felt were my first one (malignant teratoma) that was 9 cm and caused dull constipation-like pain due to its size, and my current cyst is a normal 'functional' cyst at 5 cm. I had pain with this cyst that landed me in the ER, most likely because my ovary was hemorrhaging into the cyst.
948356 tn?1245898136 I am 19 and have had 2 ovarian cysts removed one at the age of 12 and one at the age of 17. Now everytime I get the horrific pain that makes me wanna pass out. I cant move and I take over the counter medicine for menstrual cramps but I have to take way more than normal to take the pain down to where I can tolerate it. My periods are normal times every month and they are not heavy or light. I don't know what is causing the horrible pain.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts suck because they can delay your period and make you think you're pregnant when youre not. When theyre large and they rupture, its hurts like heck and they usually occur around ovalation. Alot of women using fertility meds get little cysts and that is normal too.
2011937 tn?1328058785 I've had my period for about 5 years now. I started at 10. I went on birth control for a year then we needed to go in to get the prescription renewed so we just decided to wait awhile. (that was a few months ago). I usually start at the end of the month and carry over to the first few days. This month I had the symptoms as per usual. Nipples hurting, pimples, pms and bloating. I had also taken a laxative a few days ago since I was so clogged up I had to get something out.
663380 tn?1225079707 I stopped taking the birth control about 8 months ago (it stopped working). My menstrual cycle was normal. 7 days of heavy bleeding and cramps. The last two months have been horrible. I first noticed my period was different. In Septemeber I had it for 2 days and this month it lasted 5 hours. The pain was so bad I went to the ER again and was told that I had fluid near my uterus and a 5cm cyst next to a 2.3cm cyst on my right ovary.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, I'm growing more concerned with my fiance by the minute. Two days ago, she started having cramps, which is odd because it's off her (usual) menstrual cycle by a couple weeks. Yesterday, she woke me up to take her to the hospital. The cramps were intensified greatly, and were much much localized. She had extremely heavy bleeding that she couldn't get under control, to the point that it was running off her feet with heavy tissue discharge included.
Avatar n tn I am concerned about a relapse. I had my menstrual cycle 5 days after the cyst was diagnosed, and I had to take a prescription pain med to get over the burning pain in the ovarian area. I was doubled over in pain and vomiting from it. Is this going to happen every month, and will I also be at risk for colon infection if the cysts keep appearing outside the normal monthly cycles?
