Avatar n tn D and C or ablation is done for heavy periods resulting from endometrial hyperplasia and not for ovarian cysts. If you want to go the natural way then you can wait for a spontaneous regression of the ovarian cyst. This will require follow up with frequent ultrasound scans. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
Avatar n tn I hear that ovarian cysts have the same symptoms as pregnancy. Anyone have experience with them and can tell the difference?
Avatar f tn s not an ideal situation but I want to do it right. My question is that I have two ovarian cysts (one on each side) as far as I know, one may have ruptured. But I've been experiencing some severe pain in the area where they are. Does this have to do with the baby? I don't want to go to the doctors and be all worried if it is nothing. Does any one know how cyst act during a first pregnancy or any pregnancy for that matter?
Avatar f tn I was hospitalized in 2011 after taking a thousand pregnancy tests. Ovarian cysts have almost identical symptoms to an eptopic pregnancy. In less than a month I went from a size 9 to such abdominal swelling it looked like I was due any day and I couldn't button my size 13s! It was the most horrible pain I had been through next to giving birth. Move was a leaking cyst in my right ovary. Either way you should see a doctor.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
1487841 tn?1294867967 I mean there are a few things that could be causing it, pregnancy being one option. Another option could be ovarian cysts. It could also just be random cramps and different symptoms before a period. The best thing to do is to wait and see if you miss your period. That's really the only way to be positive.
Avatar n tn I had 2 large ovarian cysts removed last May along with a full hysterectomy. I had suffered from the time I can remember with Heavy periods and also bad cramps. I had endometriosis which destroyed my insides ...I am not aware that size matters regarding ovarian cysts..I would discuss your options with your doctor. I didnt want a hysterectomy..because of hormones, menopause etc... i was 40 at the time. I was told if there was cancer or anything susipicous I would need the hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn Hi there I have been having hip pain for over a year on and off and finally found out what was wrong but to make sure there was no damage to any tissue I had an MRI done. It came back clear for hip damage but the accidently (but suppose luckily) picked up ovarian cysts. I don't know how many, what ovary, or if it both or even the size as the doctor I saw was a paedetric joint specially not a gyno and could tell me anything else except they were there.
Avatar f tn before your lap procedure did he do ultrasounds and find anything? Your symptoms sound like classic ovarian cyst symptoms. seems like it would have been typical to do ultrasounds prior to cutting?
1897851 tn?1321545222 Its been a few days since I've had pelvic cramps. I did some searching online to see what could cause it and the main thing that it could possibly be is ovarian cysts. I'm not saying I have them, but I feel I need to look into it just in case. Can a normal pelvic exam determine if that's what it is?
Avatar f tn Periods are quite light but suffer from bad cramps. Have nausea and general gassiness. Doc seems to be focusing on stomach symptoms and has referred me to a gastro specialist, however friends have suggested endo as a possible cause. Can anyone shed some light?
155534 tn?1275412255 After my husband and I have a romp I experience cramping. It's not every time. It's been twice in the past 2 weeks that it has happened. The first time the cramping was so painful, I had to take tylenol and lay down, and it took like and hour and a half to subside..The cramps were much stronger than menstral cramps. This 2nd time was yesterday evening. It wasn't as bad yesterday, but there was still like cramping and a warm sensation in my lower abdoman.
1148191 tn?1271817646 m having pregnancy symptoms that I could still be pregnant. And can ovarian cysts cause a missed period making me think that I am pregnant? I don't normally have any PMS symptoms except cramping the day of my period.
Avatar m tn Also check out the ovarian cyst forum at medhelp for discussion of the managements of ovarian cysts that are not related to ovarin cancer good luck
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn Could this be related to ovulation or period cramps? Or perhaps cysts? Having ovarian cysts can cause us to be irregular and have that symptom of dull type of pain. Have you had a physical or better yet, a pelvic exam with a gynecologist any time recently?
Avatar m tn t t know where to put it so I put it here.
Avatar f tn ve had simple cysts and passed them which seems like a very heavy period with bad cramps. Some women have many cysts and a disorder called polycystic ovarian syndrome. Ovarian cancer is often silent. It's a seeding cancer meaning tumors are very tiny and spread like sand blowing in the wind. They do grow but it takes a bit of time. There are often no symptoms for a long time but what they seem to appear most like are gastrointestinal issues.
Avatar f tn I have all the symptoms of ovarian cancer and this past friday I went for a transvaginal ultrasound and an enlarged cyst was found on my right ovary that is painful. The lady doing the ultrasound said it wasn't really a small one either... I have been on birth control for 5 years now and b/c is supposed to prevent functional cysts. I have had all the symptoms of ovca for over a year now just getting worse as time goes by so the cyst has been there for a while.
1480446 tn?1293734007 With this pregnancy, I had tons of cramps and a little tired but no other symptoms but with my other two I had tons of symptoms. There are other things that can cause pregnancy type symptoms- stress, AF, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroids etc.... Either way hope all goes well, good luck.
Avatar f tn I was surprised to have such terrible period cramps because I had had very few cramps since having my children. So, these symptoms were new and different for me. I also had back pain. The vague pelvic pain caused me to constantly need heat packs and ibuprofen. So, I was lucky because I did have symptoms early. It can be different for every woman. Some do not have any symptoms until late stages. Based on your age, I think it is highly unlikely you have ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn Hello, Mostly ovarian cysts are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. You seem to be having the symptoms of metrorrhagia(heavy periods). Various factors causing it are endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, hormone imbalance, endometrial hyperplasia, polyps, use of IUD’s and depo shots, sexually transmitted diseases,PCOS and benign and malignant pathologies of the uterus.
Avatar n tn I think I would call your Dr., and tell him or her the same thing you told us. Cysts can and do sometimes last a few months . Since you have the diagnosis, I'd ask what the suggested treatment plan is ..I have no idea what type of IUD you have, but one that I've seen advertised on TV clearly states that ovarian cysts are a side affect, that will disappear.. otherwise I'm sorry I can't be more helpful..
