My doctor prescribed me Naltrexone for itching and it gave me confusion, hallucinations (I thought there was a lizard on my boyfriends back) and I couldn't sleep and my itching was worse. It says you shouldn't take it if you have a liver condition. I have stage 4 cirrhosis. But my liver doctor prescribed it so I thought it was okay to take. Has anyone used this medicine? What else could I do for the itching.

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed the original spots went away, but I got a really itchy patch on my right wrist, along the medial side of my wrist. I scratched so much I scabbed. When the itching got worse I stared taking Allegra and Pepcid, and hydrocortisone cream since it started showing up other places too, which only provided minor relief.

Hello, It can be pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and itching. Topical and oral steroids are needed. Water, sweat, and soap may cause irritation and should be avoided in the disease. Topical zinc oxide and calamine lotion are useful for pruritus. A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best.
I have been suffering with burning/itching symptoms in my stomach for six months. Initially, my doctor prescribed omeprazol but I could not sleep at night. I consulted my physician again after 4 weeks and was sent in mid February to a specialist doctor who took the endoscopy test. The next day he forwarded the test result which showed H Pylori. I took for fourteen days Imadrax 1000 mg, Metronidazol 500 mg and continued with omeprazol 20 mg.
Hi and welcome to the GERD forum. Do you mean Omeprazole?
The main symptoms I relate to are the bloating and excessive gas and I have dealt with that for years trying to figure out what was causing it. But a new symptom I am experiencing is all over itching. Not like other itches I've had, this seems like it's almost more "internal?" if that makes any sense.
I am taking omeprazole (2x aday) metronidazole (56) 4 x aday) and tetracycline (56) 4x a day) for a stomach infection and lately my clitoris and outer vagina area is irriating with slight pain and itching and tenderness could this be from taking the meds because I have not been sexually active for almost a year and have had no problems down there until I started taking these meds

Yesterday my sister came back from abroad and brought back a whole lot of chocolate and cheese, since i haven't been able to sleep for a week due to heartburn anyway i figured fk it and ate a whole bunch! This is where the strange part comes in - the chocolate made my stomach so calm and made me feel great!
made with pork and various spices, its usually made with eggs, which I made, and I've been eating it all my life. I ended up itching all over and started getting hives everywhere, shortness of breath and everything that comes with it. I had to go to ER to get treated with an IV full of meds, because the doctor that treated me earlier gave me two injections Benadryl and a steriod which didn't work.
Note, in January I went on omeprazole 40 mg twice a day for LPR. My son had passed away in January, and I was told that symptoms most likely related to stress. I went to endocrinologist in August who suggested that I change how I take my synthroid (I’d always taken with food). The headaches and eye pain pretty much went away after two weeks. I still have tiredness, random all over body itching & eye swelling.

Dermatologist said they could do a biopsy but don't know if I want or need to do that. I am 63 and already having thin skin and easy bleeding issues on my arms. I do not take blood thinners.

Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! Tingling, burning or itching of tongue is usually due to vitamin B12 deficiency. Low intrinsic factor in gut that hampers absorption of B12 and causes pernicious anemia is the commonest cause. If this is so the increasing intake of B12 will not help, and you will need to take Vitamin B12 injections at regular frequency as prescribed by your doctor.
I'm actually making myself feel sick inside over it, because of course, when I do a search for thin stools, Colon Cancer is the very first thing that pops up. I should state that I did recently stop taking Omeprazole (OTC Prilosec) and started on Prevacid...all about a month or so ago. My diet hasn't really changed, other than maybe adding a little bit more vegetables to my daily intake...but not enough that I would think it could cause a difference in my stool size.
