hi im 19 years old i been on the depo shot for almost a year i get my last shot on april 23rd once ina while i experience stomach cramps and nausea while on the shot and i was wondering if anybody else experiences the same things i do if anybody does can they let me know thanks
You're incorrect. Omeprazole isn't a definitive treatment for peptic ulcers in that it won't correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
I am now on week six so this has dramatically changed my social life and I am now on 20mg of omeprazole. For the first month it started ok. I cut Alcohol, spicy food, all fizzy drinks, orange juice. Now I'm faced with crippling stomach pain, the belching is back and as worse as when I used to drink. I throw up bright yellow acidic sick and have diarohea frequently. I have to wait 2 weeks till my GP appointment. I'm still taking omeprazole, I'm exhausted and I need help.
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
Ultrasound done of liver for my gastroenteroligist today. Put on Omeprazole- discontinued all other meds. Could this be from the constant pain meds taken along with the body trying to process all the injured dead tissue and edema through an already compromised liver?
I recently had some blood work for life insurance. I received the results and noticed I had an elevated ALTof 67U/L(with up 45 being normal range for lab),GGTP of 100 U/L(with up to 65 being normal range for lab),and Total Bilirubin levels of 1.5MG/DL(with up to 1.4 being in the normal range for lab) but all else looked good.I am a 40 yo male in good shape and work doing very active work and play in 3 softball leagues a week. I am 6'2" and weigh about 232 lbs.
I have been prescribed omeprazole 20 mg daily, Miralax, Citrucel, Klonopin .5 mg daily (anxiety) and 1/2 a Lortab 5/500 (due to painful abdominal cramps 24/7). The SIBO was recently diagnosed a month ago by HBT (positive fructose intolerance) and small bowel series showed rapid transit. I was put on Xiafaxan 550 mg b.i.d. for a 10 day course. I began to put the weight back on I had lost which was 12 lbs.
h-pylori drugs have many sides, even fatal on liver, i took them too but i suggest to take them the shortest time possible and try to stop them to see if all the damage is you feel is due to these drugs
you may also use alinia+other h-pylori drugs to boost response and clear pylori fast, i remember i just took 2 antibiotics+omeprazole for about 3 weeks to clear it
Omeprazole can cause some very serious, even fatal conditions associated with the liver.
I have severe vomiting, nausea and headaches. I am currently on omeprazole 40mg , I take 1 pill a day in the morning. My throat still feels as if food is stuck in there and my throat feels as if my throat was burnt severely and now it's sore. My stomach hurts, i constantly keep relieving gas. I would like some advice to what I should eat to make me feel better. Especially because of the vomiting & gas. I don't have insurance or else i would check myself into the hospital.

1. What is it exactly, and how is the condition presenting in ME?
2. What are the treatment options, and what are the risks and benefits of each.
3. If your (family member) had this condition, what would you do?

I started taking omeprazole. Took it for 1 month. The MINUTE I stopped it was right back where I started. Long story short, after searching the internet, I started eating 1/4-1/2 of and apple (just the sweet types, not tart) a couple of hours before bed. The next morning I woke up with no heartburn!! I do this every evening. If it's not convenient, or I'm just not in the mood I have a little applesauce. Also, I switch up with 1 1/2 teaspoons of Raw, Organic, Unfiltered honey.
My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks.
I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet.
The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results?

I was recently tested (blood drawn) for celiac and I had been on daily omeprazole for 9 months. My test came back negative, but my doc never mentioned stopping omeprazole. of course my doc also 'forgot' that she prescribed omeprazole for me in the first place and tried to prescribe it again.
I'm currently taking lexapro for anxiety & depression and Omeprazole for Gerd and just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. My doctor said the benefIt's outweigh the risks but I'm reading some really scary defects online and I'm wondering if anyone here has had good/bad experiences with them?
I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
Anti-inflammatory drugs do not suit everyone and also need to be taken after food or stomach medicines like omeprazole, to help protect the stomach.
No doubt you will be offered imaging tests like xrays or other imaging to evaluate your problem and you may be offered a pain relief injection into the area if this was deemed that it could help.

Omeprazole should not cause any form of jaundice that I am aware of. I take it every day & I have treated for hcv & still treat for aih. I have to take it because of prednisone causing heartburn & gerd.
