Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.

At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.

I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.

is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?

I keep forgetting to take my omeprazole dr 20 mg 30 minutes before meals, can I take it after the meal.

Hi, Do you think a different manufacturer, could possibly make a slightly diffrent product,or maybe a different coating ? that could change the makeup of Omeprazole, or any other product for that matter.

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

I have found that drinking an 8 ounce glass of water with 1/2 tsp of baking soda dissolved in it helps too, in a pinch-but I definitely recommend you invest in a Costco sized container of tums...or two....

I was given Brookline dark chocolate acai and blueberry candy bought at Costco. It was delious, and I ate four packets over two days. I had one unexplained diarrhea episode, but thought it was from new Chinese restaurant. Now I think it was from the acai. I have known allergies to poison icy (severe), mangoes, and cashews (mild). I will avoid acai going forward. I think I will let Costco know that they might want to post an allergy alert.

I like the costco brand best, and huggies as well. For newborn diapers, i loved the huggies naturals. Ive used some pampers, but they dont fit my sons bum well, and ive had leakage problems with them. Costco has the cheapest diapers where i live, and they sell their brand and huggies for the same price, plus they fit my son well so for me its a win win.

I purchase the baby shower template on Etsy and printed them at Costco and they look amazing. I only order 50 invites and we will be mindful of how many we pass out.

Costco has really great prices on card stock invites. You get 25 for 17.25 which you could use their templates or download your own and print them as long as they are jpeg. I purchased a template on etsy for 8 dollars and got 50 invites printed. This was the cheapest I found and the quality is great!! Just wanted to share.

HI....Omeprazole is Prilosec...it is the same thing...just a generic name, but the same med. If ur mom feels worse, it could be 1 of a few things....she possibly did not need the meds as she may have a condition called hypochlorhydria which is too little stomach acid....the symptoms r very similar as when u have too much acid. One other issue could be the fact she just stopped taking the meds...she should really step off of them slowly to avoid rebound effect...

Talk to your pharmacist. I work in a pharmacy and they generally do not like prescription prenatals. The ones over the counter are cheaper and less likely to make you sick.

Last month my gastro doctor upgraded my omeprazole from 20mg to 40mg - mainly because my insurance company doesn't cover omeprazole 20mg anymore because it is available over the counter. So I have been taking 40mg once a day for about a month. Lately my stomach has been feeling a little queasy with bloated gas. I'm wondering if I'm getting too much omeprazole and may have too little acid.

I'm currently taking lexapro for anxiety & depression and Omeprazole for Gerd and just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. My doctor said the benefIt's outweigh the risks but I'm reading some really scary defects online and I'm wondering if anyone here has had good/bad experiences with them?

I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
