Our bodies are breaking down and getting weaker, creating more people with diseases, and food is our main source of nutrition. If our food is lacking what we need to survive, of course we are going to become sick. I'm glad there are others that are seeing the same things I am.
When you break it down to the amount of nutrition you get from the 'detox' drinks, it is a form of fasting. It really is not good for the body to go for so long without proper nutrition. Our livers do naturally detox our bodies, however, some claim we eat and live in a high toxic world that out bodies cannot get rid of. If we eat healthy, wholesome, fresh foods on a daily basis then there is no need to detox the body with those 'detox' potions. Hope that answered your question.

We all know in fact many foods have cancer preventative properties and immune boosting abilities etc. Researchers who studied 68 people, one of many recent studies on this, who ate 2 cups of live-culture yogurt daily for 3 months found that these persons produced higher levels of immunity boosting interferon as much as 4 times, (I eat so much I have fruit on the bottom!)The bacterial cultures in yogurt have also been shown to stimulate infection-fighting white cells in the bloodstream.
Any thoughts on nutrition and holistic treatments I might try. I am on Medi-Care, so I doubt they will fund interferon. Anyway, I was on interferon in 2002. After six months, my doctor stopped treatment, He said it wasn't having the effect he had hoped for. Any thoughts will be sincerely received.
I'm with most of the other moms, whole milk from 1-2 then after 2 we started our daughter on 2%. I'll be doing this with our next child no matter what the ped says. As long as she's healthy, lol. My daughter is tall and skinny and needed the whole milk, she probably would have looked like a bone rack if she was only on 2% or less. And she would eat all the time, so it's not like she was starving or anything, she just burned through it all very fast.
Or the library is full of books on nutrition. Yes, we need to eat healthy our whole lives and especially as we age. Try to eat a low cholesterol diet which means cutting out some of the fats. Basically, there is much to cover regarding nutrition. Do you have any specific questions?
2) Since all associated therapists and counselors that work the methadone clinics are trained and get their information from the standard medical establishment…do you really think they know the truth…no one is saying that they are not caring individuals--but they don’t know the truth anymore than the people who prescribe the medication to you. If fact most of them think we’re idiots because we doubt and ask questions.
I have lots of it leftover, and when I've run out of the dry stuff, I've tried giving the cans to her, and she won't touch 'em. I don't know a whole lot about cat nutrition, but I DO know, that one should try to buy food that's low in "ash". This is for good urinary-tract health, which is especially important for male cats.
Fish are not only brain food, they’re also “anti-pain” food. If you’re not a fish lover, you can also get some omega-3 from nuts, seeds, and wheat germ. When you eat less meat, you’ll also reduce arachidonic acid, another substance that increases inflammation. The visible fat in pork are especially high in this pain-provoking acid. How Omega-3 Fatty Acids help Depression Since fat makes up about 60 percent of the human brain.
On the contrary. Hashimoto's had been linked to food sensitivities and/or allegies. In fact most autoimmmune disease can be linked back to food sensitivties. I would advise 'karbbear' to research further and I highly recommend the book by Dr. Kharrazian, 'Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms?' I was just recently diagnosed with hashi's and have enjoyed great success by eliminting certain foods from my diet, i.e. gluten, soy, dairy and corn, as the lab work showed sensitivities in these areas.
it just seems like so much.. so my question is, since hes gonna be starting actual baby food feedings in about 3 weeks, do I give him a bottle after everytime, or do I start giving him water after he eats food. when are they supposed to have water? I know I ask alot about feeding, but im so confused.
Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, eat lean meats like chicken and fish (especially those high in omega 3's like salmon and mackerel), cook and prepare meals with olive oil in it, enjoy lots of whole grain foods with natural fiber in it. Drink plenty of fresh clean water every day. Avoid refined sugars, saturated fats, smoking, alcohol and drugs (obviously). Get plenty of rest and sleep as well as you can. Manage stress effectively, don't get worked up over every little thing.
I've tried changing his food several times, but he is very sensative. Even adding little by little into his original dog food, he throws up, gets sick and we resort back to science diet. I've tried adding fiber by canned pumpkin or carrots, but anything new to his diet doesn't suit him well. I went to the pet store and ended up getting a sample of wellness core, reduced fat. My dog absolutely loves it, and we fed it to him as snacks.
you teach them about the reality of the world and prepare them for how to handle it. That's kinda how I feel about school lunches...good healthy foods should be the absolute majority. but the fact of the world is that there are NOT only healthy foods out there, and it's been proven that if you keep something away from children they are far more likely to binge on whatever it is (junk food, alcohol, driving like a maniac, etc) once they're old enough to gain the freedom to do so....
What is that?? I am also looking for something to take when my TX is over. Someone suggested something called silymarin or milk thistle to me, but I have no idea what that is either. It is so difficult to find translations for this kind of stuff...
I have been taking certain food based multivitamins (Rainbow Men Just One). Is it safe? There is 100% vitamin A, but no iron. Does that much of Vita A plus dietary intake of vit A result in too much? I also usually eat a lot of nuts (almond, cashew, peanuts). Will I have problem of iron overload? Thanks!

(1) More recently, an editorial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) August 2010 entitled “Dietary Guidelines in the 21st Century – a Time for Food” writes “little of the information found on food labels’ ‘nutrition facts’ panels provides useful guidance for selecting healthier foods to prevent chronic disease.
While I am not a fan of nursing homes in general, the provision of pureed food is not generally a decision based on "cutting up solid food". The fact is that dysphagia, or difficulty in swallowing, can be fatal. The pureed food is provided to prevent death. Parkinson's disease is characterized by periods when one swallows normally and periods when one may not be able to swallow.
However, I will not let them off the hook, because they should know, with everything that has been going on, with all the illnesses and health problems related to food, and with all the studies performed by nutrition experts, that these foods are not good and are killing and harming our pets.

breads, cakes and such and dry foods. I can understand your anxiety with your problem. I don't care who you are...a man with nerves of steel but swallowing problems will reduce you down to a nervous wreck! With the exception of no mention of lingual tonsils (food can get hung up on these if they are swollen) or thyroid check, again...the next step would be to seek a Neurologist. Nerves work with your muscles. You can google this. If you are up to it, post an update.
They literally have NO IMPULSE CONTROL.... that's the whole point..... So they see food that they like......they eat and cannot stop. You don't expect a phsychiatrist to fix diabetes, he needs the correct medicine...
She needs to be having 32-36 OUNCES of formula a day. PLUS 1-2 meals of solid foods. That's 4-5 bottles a day. A baby needs this milk instead of solid foods. Many parents don't even introduce their children to solids until 12 months. (most don't wait that long) but MILK is to be a childs main source of nutrition until their first birthday.

If you google Antioxidant-Enhanced Food Found To Reduce Ribavirin-Induced Anemia +Jules Levin an article from natap comes up which lists the nutritional facts for the tmato based functional food. Every time I tried to copy and paste it, the nutritional facts were left out. My husband has had major anemia and even had to have a tranfusion before reducing riba. The reduced Ribavirin and 2 shots of procrit per week don't even bring his hemoglobin up to 10.
Nearly 2 decades ago, Dutch researchers found that while a protein-rich meal did boost GFR, it didn't have an adverse effect on overall kidney function. In fact, there's zero published research showing that downing hefty amounts of protein specifically, up to 1.27 grams per pound of body weight a day damages healthy kidneys. As a rule of thumb, shoot to eat your target body weight in grams of protein daily.
