What I forgot to mention, and didn't think was important, was that I also started on Nasonex corticosteroid nasal spray at the same time and took 2 sprays in each nostril each day up to the time of my Oraquick test. So I've been on corticosteroid nasal spray for roughly a month and have unfortunately read that such medication can inhibit immune response and potentially make antibodies to HIV undetectable via the aforementioned tests. Is this possible?

If MS is an autoimmune disease, I'm wondering how often do you get sick? I'm in Limbo Land, with no dx. One thing that I have noticed during the many years of sx is that while I do have lots of sx, I rarely get sick. I cannot remember my last cold. I did get a sinus infection 3 years ago, the first one in 10 years, and that was something that plagued me in younger years. We had a virulent stomach bug go through the office last year, but I did not get it. Flu?

As in, I feel like I'm not fully inside of my body. And you know how when you stand up too quickly and you get a bit of a head rush? That's kind of how my head feels, except constantly- but it's just mild. It's kinda of hard to explain, but I feel like I'm not grounded or something, if that makes sense. My son weighs only 40lbs and does take several different medications daily (flovent, singulair, rynatan, nasonex and albuterol as needed, which is not often) and I am concerned that all this medication is too much for his body to handle or that the inhaled steriod is causing these emotional breakdowns. I know he is young and it is hard for him to verbalize deep feelings but we are all frustrated with the situation.

yes i didnt think nasonex was good - should they not warn people that it can do that the nose? the sterimar has no chemicals and so i feel this is good and it hydrates my nose - sometimes in morning i feel heating in house dries nose up the patch has gone in my nose which is great - does that mean infection has gone or the nose is hydrated normally now? i have a slight cut at the end of my nostril and could this be from nasonex and nasal sprays and constant blowing?

My symptoms have gotten stronger and I can not bear the pressure in my nose/forehead/eyes any longer. I went to a regular physician and he prescribed Nasonex. wich, again hasn't relieved any of my symptoms. I'm desperate to find a cure to my heaches and now this horrible pressure that comes more often at night. I'm uninsured and I'm trying my best to get the help, but I can not afford to get a CT scan or MRI to tell me if there is something more serious going on inside my brain. HELP!!

I have been treated for sinus problems in the maxillary sinus for abou 5 years. Singular, Nasonex and have done pretty well. Treatment for flairups have been doxycyclene and other antiobotics. Now I am worse and antiobotics are not working. I went to ENT and had ct scan. I am scheduled for sinuplasty on right sinus opening on the 19. My pain has benn increasing. Last night was the worst pain I have ever experienced. It felt like lightning hit the right side of my head.

This is not a habit I can change, no matter how hard I try. The problem is that I have trouble breathing thru my nose. I don't get enough air at certain times of the night and wake up gasping. I can't afford a sleep test (I'm a respiratory care first year student!). it causes a lot of anxiety and im not in a financial position to experiment with meds and specialists, or go to the doctor often, period. i did go into a walkin clinic so thats how i got that diagnosis. i was prescribed a combination of nasonex and clarinex, then a round of allegra d. the first two meds seemed to help, but i wonder if it was possible a desperate kind of placebo effect.

The reason I am writing you is because I am in agony, doing the neti-pot every two hours and using Nasonex and wondering how YOU got rid of the infection. I don't want to be on antibiotics yet again. I was first told it was sinunitis put on antibiotics no help ! next it was a middle ear infection , and I was given nasonex ! did not help either, now Im told I have a problem with labyrinth ! and was given Serc ! I am worried that something is being overlooked ! should I be ? and if I should be how can I get other testing done to rule out bigger problems ?

online... very cool info about how to ease the symptoms of it drinking plenty of water (10 glasses or so a day) and using a healty amount of salt (not too much, not too little) has gotten me to the point where i don't need the inhaler very often and if i do get an allergy during cleaning, it's just an allergy but my breathing will be okay. i used to have very bad asthma attacks when cleaning etc. but this helped tremendously!

This started as a little sniffling here and there and has progressed to polyps in my sinuses, recurrent sinus infections (every few weeks), debilitating asthma. Decongestants can cause rebound sinus problems if taken more than three days in a row or if they are taken too often, so those shouldn't be taken too often. The doctors increased his flovent from 44 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, to 110 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, proventil 2 puffs as needed (doing this often these days), nasonex 1 squirt each nostril once a day, singulair 4mg cheable once a day, zyrtec cough medicine as needed. He has been completely allergy tested blood, and skin tests he only has a mild egg white allergy (doctors aren't concerned), he's had his adenoids removed, and ear tubes put in. No reflux is suspected.

i also have been clearing my throat (which feels a little awkward, NOT SORE) quite often. ON TOP of all that, i was told by my wife that while i was sleeping on the first night, my body temp was high, but i wasn't sweating. can anybody help on what may be going on and how to deal with it?

I drove two hours down to Louisville and spoke to a DR Cecil and he suggested that I try Infergen. Does anyone have any information about this drug. How is it taken, how often, what are the side effects? The Dr said that the effective rate is only about 20 % but I have few options left.

You shouldn't be going crazy, ask your ENT about these symptoms to see if it's reasonable at this point of your recovery, since it's hard for us to say without knowing how long it's been, and what you had done The trouble many people have unclogging their ears has to do with the blockage of the eustachian tube that drains the ear. Sorry you're having problems. You might want to have an ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist have a look. I also had a clogged up feeling in my ears and it turned out to be related to my sinuses which were inflamed by LPR which is a kind of chronic reflux that can involve the larynx, ears and throat. Your stomach problems could be related to the reflux as well. That's why Nasonex probably helped Morgaina, as it's all connected up there.

My physician prescribed Advair (little help) and a pulmonary specialist gave me Singulair and Nasonex. Singulair seems to help. He tends to blame the condition on allergies. I am trying to get more opinions to help me determine whether it is allergy or possibly a different condition. Thank you.

(Can't use antihistamines or decongestants, and am really miserable, so Nasonex is all I've used.) However, I'm finding that Nasonex can cause reflux too. I often have acid in my throat on days I use it, even if I'm taking Nexium! Anyone else have this problem?

I have prescription Nasacort, I use Nasalcrom when Nasacort doesn't work - which is often, but Nasalcrom also often doesn't work - and I use a eucalyptus/menthol spray, which feels good and seems to work. My doctor prescribed Nasonex (he uses it himself, and I've read it's stronger), but I'm leery because it's expensive like Nasacort and may not work any better. Nasacort is so costly in the US (I think about $80) that I've ordered it from Canada for one-third the price.

Worked ok, but still had many infections from being congested so often. Next he tried adding Advair. A little better, but not really what I was hoping for. He then switched me over to Zertec, instead of Allegra D. Still no an improvment. Then we added an antihistamine nasal spray called Astelin and also Nasonex. It helped a bit, but still wasn't there yet. I asked him if there was anything else I could try, like you I was FRUSTRATED. He then told me of a drug called Zolair.

I have tried Nasonex, Flonase, etc. I started allergy shots about 8 months ago. The only relief I get is from Afrin, and that doesn't even last the 12 hours. (I don't want to hear about how you shouldn't take it for more than 3 days either!) My family doctor had put me on the Z-pack and Biaxin and it works for a SHORT period of time, if at all, and then I go back to the congestion. I have had a CAT scan that shows some inflammation, but does show that I am draining.
