nasonex

Avatar f tn yes i have tried and done all of these avanues....yesterday i did go back to my nasonex to try and off set the rebound during the day...seemed to help some....i still use the off brand of AFRIN,AFRIN...before going to bed ...only thing that gets me through the night...and it last till late in the afternnon or early evenin the next day...then the stuffyness starts...especialy if i am setting or lying down..
Avatar m tn For the past few years I have had problems sleeping at night due to a lack of ability to breath through my nose when I lie down. I find later on in the evening when I start to relax and am just sitting down on the couch my nasal way starts to get resticted, and when I lay down it usually closes off. When I wake up in the morning it is closed off and once I start moving around it clears up.
1393709 tn?1280178870 Don't use Afrin for more than 3 days. Otherwise you'll get a rebound effect, and it makes your nose congested all the time, despite becoming an Afrin junkie. I'd recommend going to an allergist. In the meantime, sudofed works the best without making you groggy, in case you wish to operate heavy machinery. Next best is nasonex, which works differently.
531684 tn?1216745984 t even get to the end of the complaints on the internet about nose bleeds from nasonex! Well, my nose bleeds started with nasonex, the first time around was in the '90's, and no one seemed to know then that the nose bleeds were a side effect, although I kept having them and realized then that they occurred after using nasonex. Later, around 2007, I was told by a doctor, that it wouldn't be a bad idea to try it again, that it was actually a good drug.
29837 tn?1414534648 Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar m tn I have decided to stop taking the aspirin, which I haven’t taken in about a week anyways. This “rebound effect” that can result in clotting due to suddenly stopping aspirin has got me a little worried. Is this a legitimate concern or am I worrying for no reason? I understand the negative effects of stopping aspirin are mostly in the 4 weeks or so after stopping due to platelets becoming “more sticky”. How long after stopping aspirin does the blood “normalize”?
Avatar n tn Nose specialist prescribed him with Nasonex 2x spray per day, Ceflour antibiotic, Anpro Loratadine, and Roximeth. But i worry about the STeroid effect to my son. . So i stop after taken 1 tablet of Roximeth after i found out this is steroid. Please advise any side effect if my son stop this Roximeth after 1 tablet ? (as doctor always advise me to finish it so i don't want to tell doctor) Nasonex also steroid spray right?
Avatar n tn I was on the 6 day pack of steroids about 3 times in my life and they never had any effect on mine. In fact, I usually felt pretty darned good the first two days. A lot of people that I know that have taken steroids said they made them feel bad, but I am an opposite. Mostly every medication makes me feel bad. These? I felt GREAT! Good luck.
Avatar m tn My very excellent neurologist told me that Frova and Amerge are the ONLY triptans that do not cause the rebound effect as they have more of a half-life. The other triptans can then be used once a week. NO over the counter pain meds like Advil- those cause rebounds too. My neuro gave me Ultram, which is a better choice for chronic and frequent headaches.
538745 tn?1213755988 have nasal congestion and treat myself with saline solution sprays and, if absolutely necessary, I will use Nasonex, but, trust me, neither has any effect at all on my tinnitus ... just my sinuses. Good luck. There is hope. I will post more when time allows.
Avatar m tn Also, nasal saline sprays have a very small effect. Try the NeilMed sinus rinse bottle instead. The greater volume of water makes it much more effective. Exactly what nasal sprays have you tried? Please list by category - steroid or antihistamine. Have you tried atrovent (dries up the sinuses so it may not be the best thing for thick drainage) and NasalCrom? Have you tried guaifenesen (Mucinex) and a decongestant? Have you tried doing three day cycles of Afrin?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
1025806 tn?1333572690 Hi Lisa! I would suggest instead of treating these headaches as sinus headaches in the beginning, treat them as migraine headaches right away (since that is what they turn into) and use a triptan (prescription migraine medication) at the first sign of the headache. The reason why I suggest this is because it has been discovered that almost all sinus headaches aren't actually sinus headaches but are in fact migraine headaches.
Avatar m tn Vasoconstrictors that are in eye drops like Visine, Cleareyes, etc cause rebound effect. They are not safe for long term use. I've used Euphrasia (eyebright) before and it makes my eyes feel so fresh and also gets rid of redness. I've been doing research on this herb and I've read that it shrinks tissue. I want to get a doctor's thought on the long term use of this herb. This herb helps with my eye allergies and that is why I want to use it.
Avatar n tn She ordered me to stop immediately and advised me of its addiction and rebound effect....... I stopped cold turkey. It was absolutely the most painful and difficult time of my life....I couldn't breath at all, couldn't sleep. I was reduced to an extreme vegetative state where all I could do was lay straight up in bed or in a chair. ....Also there is something in this product that alters your brain as well. I suffered sever panic attacks and even suicidal tendencies.
Avatar f tn I was recently told that even a single dose of OTC or pain killers can cause a rebound headache. I also have chronic daily headaches as well as a few migraines each week. Can the ER cocktail of Benadryl, Toradol, Zofran, Reglan, ativan ,and decadron potentially cause a rebound effect. There's some weeks, I'm in the ER 2-3 times per week . Some months, I don't go at all. At home, Ido not take anything except amlodapine and valium twice a day.
Avatar f tn Exactly. You may very well be experiencing the "rebound" effect. A good ophthalmologist will be able to help you get through this.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Avatar m tn She uses Albuterol, budesonide(oral inhalers) in her nebulizer and some antiboitics(if she has fever), she takes Nasonex shots, and she uses Waldryl allergy and Zyrtec. I discussed the situation with my pediatrician and because of the blood contamination incident, we got her tested for Hep A, Hep B, Hep C and HIV after 5 months 20 days after the incident. Now she is 4 years old.
Avatar n tn Are you talking about a rebound? A rebound happens if your sugar levels go dangerously low. Your body reacts by releasing glucose from your liver. You usually wake up high, because your liver over-compensate and the resulting high BGs are usually hard to get to go down.
Avatar f tn Yes, I've been using Nasonex and it doesn't seem to be having much effect.
Avatar f tn It probably is. I get something like that, too. I sometimes have so much drainage that I have to take oral antihistamine, too. I hate it, because the oral antihistamine is so sedating.
Avatar n tn I have also been on a regimen of Nasonex and other sorts of nasal sprays that you need a prescription for. Once again, I saw temporary relief only to have the symptoms return. This summer (and now September) of 2008 has been really bad. (I lived in Japan from July 2006 to May 2008, and for some reason I had few allergic symptoms there). I am, like ever, waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe because my nose gets congested. I blow my nose, but nothing gets drained.
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar f tn there is a rebound effect to start with when you stop nexium. This was found in clinical trials when healthy people with no digestive problems developed acid reflux after stopping nexium. Osteoporosis can be reversed as well. I'll send you a few links to check out.
