Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan uterus

mri-scan

Avatar f tn Seriously, get an abdominal MRI. You're talking a scan versus surgery. Don't let things rest with merely an ultrasound.
Avatar f tn My ultrasound scan showed I have bulky uterus. Ovaries are normal and endometrial thickness is 7 mm. Contains free fluid. POD My pap smear test says : Normal Components : Predominantly intermediate and superficial cells with occational clusters of endocervical cells Background: Dense acute inflammatory cells and scant doderlein bacilli Reactive changes: Nothing significant Epithelial changes: Nothing significant Impression: Inflammatory Smear Is there anything to worry?
Avatar n tn I am 27 years old and a recent MRI scan has indicated that i have a left ovarian dermoid cyst. (approx 5cm) To my great surprise (and fear), the scan also indicated that I have a "unicornuate uterus in the anterverted position". The junctional zone is unremarkable. What exacly does this mean and what are the implecations on my fertiltiy? I am extremely stressed and concerned and my doctor has not at all been sensitive or explained anything to me.
768754 tn?1373918737 d think a breast MRI could be useful. I also have had cysts on my uterus and know that an elevated alpha fetoprotein could also be indicative of tumors on the reproductive organs. Would it be crazy to ask my doc if they can scan other areas of my body as well, as long as I'm there? Or does this require a different setup with the equipment and/or unobtainable hoops to jump thru with the insurance company?
Avatar f tn no uterus was found in my body.. i want to know if i can be able to get pregnant some how..? or any others ways for me to get pregnant..?
Avatar f tn i have to have a saline sonogram to cxonfirm the diagnosis of bicornuate uterus. i did not have an mri of my uterus. i did have a cat scan with iv contrast of my entire abdomen and they did not mention anything about my uterus. that was in june/july. march was when i had the retained placenta. (4 weeks postpartum) i was laying on the couch and something ruptured. there was blood EVERYWHERE. i was told that the retained placenta was an entire lobe.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I have cysts on one ovary and fluid on the other so not both. Do you know if there is a relationship between things going on with the ovaries and things going on with the uterus? The MRI is tomorrow and I'm sure I'll have the results by Tuesday the latest and biopsy results of uterus should be back by Wednesday. Waiting is the hardest part.
Avatar f tn If it was an MRI of the uterus and showed a partial septum, that would be trustworthy. If it was just ultrasounds, they don't really show septums very well. Neither does an HSG. I would go back to your gyneacologist and ask for an MRI, if you have not had one. If an MRI was what you had, I will say this -- I had a uterine septum and it was never diagnosed by ultrasound. Only when I had a laparoscopy did the doctor see it ...
Avatar n tn Imaging studies, such as ultrasound, X-ray, and CT scan or MRI brain may also be recommended in certain individuals. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!

763362 tn?1236624790 I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.

Avatar f tn I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..
