Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan pelvic

mri-scan

Avatar n tn If your MRI was of your lower spine it seems it would have included your pelvic area also. I was always ordered Bone Scan first and then MRI. Are you sure the pain is in the bones of the pelvis or in the pelvic area itself ? I would just wait to see the Oncologist before having any further testing at this point. Have you thought of seeing your OB/GYN regarding the pelvic pain ??
Avatar f tn To know what a lumbar MRI shows, you can google "lumbar MRI" and click on "Images." Regarding asking the doctor to focus the MRI on a particular area, you're getting into the territory of second-guessing a doctor, and that can drag all kinds of irrelevancies into the conversation, besides insulting the doctor by making it look like you think looking up something on the Internet is better than his going to school for 8 years and practicing for however long afterwards.
Avatar f tn But, since yours is close to the 5cm mark, you should have very close follow-up. A MRI may be the next step to get a better idea of the contents of that cyst. Your doctor may decide to watch and monitor it for a bit or to do surgery to remove it. Since you are in severe pain, I think you need help right away. Do you have an appt. soon? If not, please do call your doctor's office and let them know about your pain level. Make sure they order a MRI and are not just letting this go.
Avatar f tn Just got my mri results back and haven't yet spoken with my gp but I need to make an appt with him. Just wondering if my results are anything to worry about. I am 39, a nurse and have had problems with my back since an acute injury 19 months ago. Mry mri show 1. A t7-8 disc bulge that indents the anterior cord but no spinal canal narrowing. 2. L5s1 circumferential bulge indenting the thecal scan and causing mild to moderate lateral recess narrowing with the transiting nerve roots.
1203024 tn?1265536718 Cannot have a bone density scan until i am 50, i am 38 now and i cannot afford private scan. I am almost thinking of cancelling scan as part of me is scared of what might be found but at the same time i want them to find what is wrong.
Avatar f tn I have gone to the doc and have had 3 different ultrasounds including transvaginal which were all normal. My doc sent me for an MRI and I was notified the following day that a mass was found outside of the sigmoid colon but they can't tell what it is or if its coming from uterus or bowel. After this finding I was sent to a general surgeon who did a sigmoidoscopy which was normal.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone I had an MRI done of the pelvic are back in Ocotober. They found a 3mm encondroma on the outer left femur. I do have pain that area and because of that my Ortho has requested a full body bone scan and CAT scan of the area. Should I be worried? I am only 32yo male. It has me worried. My ortho showed my MRI to a ortho oncologist who also agrees that it was enchondroma and not cancerous.
Avatar f tn I had an MRI for checking my kidney stones and cysts and it said for the pelvic part. There was a large fibroid, 2 benign ovarian cysts but the last line that concerned me was 'trace pelvic free fluid not expected for patient's age'. I'm 62 I am not sure what this mean. I tend to get cysts all the time - ie kidney cysts, ovarian, fibrocystic breasts , cysts on my back. But the mri reported didn't suggest any special follow up to it and I am not sure what to think.
Avatar f tn I have a healed pelvic fracture from December 2015 but my recent MRI shows more weakening/thinning of the pelvic bone in a different area and he says another fracture may be likely. I do not drink excessively or smoke. I have been vegetarian for 8 years but I take Calcium and vit D supplements daily. Does anyone know why this could happen?
Avatar f tn I ended up in the ER recently because of the pain. They did a pelvic exam, pelvic ultrasound, transvaginal ultrasound, and CT Scan; all normal. The doctors don’t know what is going on; it feels like they gave up. There is a family history of ovarian cancer on my father’s side; my older aunt diagnosed when she was 50 and my younger aunt diagnosed when she was in her 30s. I know that I’m young and the chances of it being something serious is low but this has been going on for sometime now.
Avatar f tn Did a CT scan 1 year ago due to a pain near my stomach/ pelvic region. Omly thing seen was a very small normal functional cyst (clear fluid) which the gynae said is of no concern. Second time after 10months, did a MRI and ultrasound in my pelvic region due to unknown pain again ajd they said i have hernia which is very mild. MRI was clear and only ultrasound showed hernia. Did a normal routine blood check which included a CA199 and CEA.
Avatar n tn Our eight year-old daughter was seen in September by a pediatric endocrinologist due to vaginal bleeding that she had on August. He reran some of the blood work, which he wanted done a couple of weeks later, at the beginning of October, with the following findings: Estradial was 9pg/ml; FSH was 0.79; LH was 0.04. A bone age xray was also done, which came back at about her age (actual reading said four months younger than she actually was).
Avatar f tn Osteosarcoma diagnosis usually begins with an x-ray, continues with a combination of scans (CT scan, PET scan, bone scan, MRI) and ends with a surgical biopsy. Films are suggestive, but bone biopsy is the only definitive method to determine whether a tumor is malignant or benign. Take care and keep us posted after visiting an orthopaedician for examination and correlation of all your symptoms with the scans and X-rays.
Avatar m tn 6Lastly, i had an abdominal cat scan 3 years ago for a liver concern, would that test have showed up something in my prostate at that time........
Avatar n tn 1) Should I now contact my oncologist and ask for more tests, and which tests should I ask for, a bone scan? 2) Does breast cancer metastasize to the ischial tuberosities? I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer 5 years ago and have been cancer free since treatment.
Avatar f tn My family dr said that because of this i now have to go to an MRI and bone scan. Does anyone know if this is an indication of ovarian cancer spreading to the spine? Waiting for answers is literally driving me crazy.
Avatar n tn I have SI joint pain as well. My MRI is negativo and bone scan negativo also. But have had the pain for a year and 3 PT's later. One of them injured me and made it worse. They still haven't diagnosed it but the orthopedic surgeon said it is dynamic (meaning from movement) and not structural. The pain doctor said myofascial but the two /3 PT's think SI joint dysfunction. I may have it but my pelvis is in alignment accordign to the surgeon.

Avatar f tn I just had an Thoracic MRI w/contrast that showed a glowing bright spot at T12. My doctor immediately ordered a full body bone scan. What does a lit-up bright spot respresent . . a lesion? I came to this board because I've been googling and MS appears quite frequently. Doc said after the bone scan I'll need a CT Scan. I have several MS symptoms, but he did not give me a diagnosis other than major issues with my Lumbar MRI. Thank you!
