My OB pescribed me Metronidazole for a vaginal bacteria infection. I believe they wouldnt give it to me if it was harmful, but ive read alot online about not taking it in your first trimester...im almost 10 weeks with my 3rd child. Im nervous but know I ignoring the infection can/may cause miscarriage....any comments would help.

They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
Long story short, I was admitted to the hospital for severe kidney infection (Pyelonephritis) which I was given an IV drip and antibiotics to reduce my fever (102.3). While there I had the Dr. examine my genital area in order to relive the pain. That is when I heard him say that the irritation appeared to be herpes and he was quite sure about it. From that moment I have been stressed and freaked out. He recommended that I follow up with my OBGYN to confirm.

I recently developed a white discharge from my penis. I went to a GUM clinic where an infection was found to be present, and so I was tested for gonorrhoea, chlamydia, HIV and syphilis; I do not think I was tested for trichomoniasis. Anyway, the tests came back negative.
Pending the results, the doctor had given me 7 days 2x100mg doxycycline which resolved symptoms quickly and I thought the infection was cleared. However, 5 days after the course was over, the white discharge returned.
I took metronidazole gel at about 20 weeks for bv and baby is fine now at about 28 weeks
at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.

There was no physical examination, I explained my symptoms (nausea, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and abdominal pain - especially after eating) to him and he said there’s a possibility I have stomach ulcers and/or gastritis (caused by H. got checked for UTIs and nothing, blood test came back slightly abnormal kidneys and i had high level of creatinine which i think is due to my on/off high protein diet over the past few years, anyway i feel they completely sent me down the wrong path of seeing a kidney specialist, had the ultrasound which was fine and basically told me to cut down on protein and water intake (load of rubbish in my eyes this was lol)
anyway so on november 19th tested positive for chlamydia, had 1g of azithro 4 t
I have a 6 year old Black lab. He dog was diagnosed with Kidney failure as a result of lymes diease. The initial blood work was BUN 68 and CREA 3.0. The vet put him on the KD diet and fluids twice a week. We went back in two weeks for blood work and the BUN was 7 and CREA 1.6. He then said to take him of the fluids and come back in two weeks. We did this and the results were BUN 7 and CREA 1.6. He then said to take him off the Kidney food and come back in 3 months.
In our clinic, given your recurrent symptoms, you would have been treated with the alternate medication recommended for chlamydial infection (doxycycline) plus metronidazole, not just metronidazole alone because of the (unproven) possibility that you might have failed your recent treatment.
Several additional thoughts arise however. First, your testing sounds unusual.
I asked the vet to run blood tests, and x-rays. An hour later, the vet tells me Max is in kidney failure. My heart stopped. I don't think I've ever wanted to be more wrong in my life. You can all relate to the instant panic and uncontrollable crying.
The vet instantly pushed to euthanize, but as I stared at Maxie I couldn't fathom it. He's so young! We ended up putting him through two days of fluid therapy and re-tested him. The results are slightly lower, but not much.
The urinary symtoms have reduced after a 2 week course of doxy along with cefuroxime and then metronidazole, but I still have some discomfort/ache in the balls and bladder after urinating a week+ post treatment. The scary part is I've been tested for HIV at 12 weeks negative but I've had fatigue/tiredness, slightly swollen nodes in my neck and a cough since about 4-6 weeks post exposure. Also my daughter has had a persistent cough for about the same time (for 2 months).
