Avatar n tn My assumption from her medication is that her doctors have no idea what the actual infection is, because otherwise they would treat her for that infection, not every other infection under the sun? If she had trichomonas, wouldn't I have caught it from her??
Avatar n tn Ive had a urinary tract infection for going on 6 weeks now. Ive been treated over and over and nothing seems to be getting rid of it. I dont have a regular dr so I am relying on trips to the er to help me. I am now so sick with the infection that I am throwing up and am in so much pain. I have a very serious history of kidney stones as well which doesnt help much either. I just had my last stone removed about 3 weeks ago.
Avatar n tn You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. Crystals can be dangerous in male dogs because if they become large enough they can become lodged in the urethra and cause blockage (even in dogs, though more common in male cats).
Avatar f tn I’m 20 years old. I have a urinary tract infection(coliform). A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar f tn Has anyone got a urinary tract infection during pregnancy? Was it uncomfortable and a little painful at times? once treated did the uncomfortablness go away? I think I have one I have a drs appt in 4 days is it safe to wait until then?
4251679 tn?1370305531 UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.
Avatar f tn Im 90% sure that I have a urinary tract infection but I have additional symptoms that I dont usually have. My partner and I had sex several nights ago and I developed the usual symptoms: painful urination general discomfort frequent urination urine is cloudy and pink What is unusual is that I have clumps of something when I pee. They are pinkish is this a possible symptom that will pass just like the others?
Avatar f tn How do you tell the difference between a urinary tract infection and yeast infectiy?
Avatar m tn Second, men under the age of 40 VERY rarely get urinary tract infection. The possible exception to this is men engaging in unprotected, active rectal intercourse Your recurrent symptoms suggest to me that whatever was causing your initial penile symptoms is still there. Third, following penis-penis contact, if there was no rectal contact there is no risk of rectal STD.
Avatar m tn ve taken azithromycin, doxycycline, levofloxain, moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxone, metronidazole and also floconazole (a yeast infection pill for some reason) Everytime the symptoms seems to lessen but don't fully go away. as of now I still have a very slight discharge and occasional pain in the urethra I've taken both a urine test (which was negative for chlamydia) and a urethral swab.
Avatar f tn t fully gotten rid of that original UTI or you are somehow reintroducing bacteria into the urinary tract. The symptoms of a UTI are pretty unmistakable once you've had them so I don't doubt you know that it is 'there' again. By the way, are you male or female and what is your age. (It's anonymous here so you can say).
Avatar n tn After confirming the diagnosis of a urinary tract infection through urine tests, antibiotic treatment may be started. A urine culture and sensitivity test will determine the specific organism responsible as well as the antibiotic treatment. Drinking plenty of fluids also help. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn This didnt help so I went back to the doctor in July and was positive for urinary tract infection and 8/12/2012 was then given 500 mg of metronidazole one tablet twice a day for seven days. This still didnt cure me,, mind u everytime i go back to the doc .. im checked again and I am still positive for trichomonas. next trip to doctor was 9/22/2012 i was given 150 mg of clindamycin two capsules twice a day for 7 days. This did not cure me either.
Avatar f tn I have a question for those of you with urinary tract problems. I have had several UTIs and seem to be retaining urine. Also, my bladder and kidneys hurt. As many of you know, I do have Lupus. The question I have is should I be going to a urologist? I have talked to my GP about this and I have even mentioned being tested for Lupus Nephritis, but he just tells me that anytime he has checked my kidneys they have been fine.
Avatar m tn Factors that can cause urinary blood (hematuria) include urinary tract infections, enlarged prostate, cancerous and noncancerous tumors, kidney cysts, long-distance running, and kidney or bladder stones. Foods. Beets, blackberries and rhubarb can turn urine red or pink. Medications.
Avatar f tn Betadine would seem to take the body off its usual self-cleansing track, and so would the antibiotics you took (though they obviously worked to heal the infection, your normal urinary-tract environment got disrupted). You need something gentler and more close to natural, since the area is disrupted and irritated. Also, if you haven't, you might change to washing your underwear in one of the laundry soaps made for washing babies' things, such as Dreft.
Avatar m tn I didn't know you had to wait 3 weeks it's only been 2 weeks I will call them to reschedule until another 10 just to make sure
Avatar n tn There are OTC herbal/omega treatments that boast they aid greatly in preventing UTI. I would ask your vet if he has a preference for one (or if it conflicts with his present treatment). The most important thing is to let your vet know of any additional treatments you try as the two of you seem to have a "game plan" in dealing with the issue. Has anyone else had any success with a particular brand of homeopathic treatment?
Avatar m tn m a very religous person and know that God has a plan already laid out for all of us. I just wanted to ask for your prayers for this to be nothing serious especially cancer. That word scares me to death and I can't hardly bare to think I could possilby have it.

Avatar f tn It's probably just a urinary tract infection. Very common. Antibiotics will clear it up in no time. Relax. Getting worked up about it isn't going to solve anything.
