8-31-2011- I went to Std clinic where I was given Metronidazole and I left a urine sample. I had made the appointment one week earlier and that was the earliest that they could see me and since I still had symptoms I made sure to go back. I stopped taking Ciprofloxacin on this day, per the advice of the Doctor at the clinic, and started taking Metronidazole twice a day for 7 days which I am currently taking.

What would be a possible course of treatment for the Metronidazole-resistant Trich? I read, that perhaps Tinidazole would be the next choice of drug? If yes, what dosage should be effective? Question 5: I tried to comb through the net to find anything about after how much time the symptoms of Trich should start disappearing when treated with drugs? (Non of the countless sites mention that at all). Thank you very much in advance for your help.

itching in groins and in anus, burning and irritation after peeing are 60% resolved. However, now I am having bladder discomfort and pain , urine urgency, irritation & pain after peeing (dysuria). In addition constant dull constant ache in right lateral side just above bladder (possibly) ureter. I am at a place where no NAAT test are available except simple urine RE and culture. The symptomatic treatment is only option for me.

So 10 days ago I cam back from Mexico on vacation two days later I started to have dysuria (painful urination). I went in to my PCP and he checked for all STD's and gave me Cipro. After 5 days it wasn't helping and the tests gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV and others were all negative. I came back in and was tested Trichomoniasis gonorrhea, and chlamydia while being prescribed metronidazole and azithromycin as prophylactic.

I’m wondering how Can I tell, or how does Chlamydia discharge look. I have milky white inside and the odor is gone now. Does chlamydia discharge look a different color? Also before I got my treatment I noticed that after I had sex I had a green type of discharge and that was the reason I went to get checked. I’m just desperate and I was told result take 10 days.

Dr treated him with 2 gm azith (in case of chlamydia) and 1 gram of metronidazole in case of trich. Then a week later had him take 600 mg cifextine day 1, 400 mg day 2 and 400 mg day 3. (in case of gon) I was given doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 7 days, 1 gm of metronidazole and the same regimen he took for the gon. Should this cover all bases. Do we need further treatment. Do we need retest? I should note that the day before treatment of gon, one side testicle swelling occurred.

Tested positive for Chlamydia and Bacterial Vaginosis. Doctor immediately put me on Metronidazole and single dose of Azithromycin. Before I started the treatments, there was white discharge and fishy odor but no urge to constantly pee even after I had just emptied my bladder. After treatments, the discharge and odor has gone away but I now have a constant urge to pee and when I go to pee it’s very little and there is very slight burning.

Oh, and metronidazole is used to treat BV also. But it is not an std.

By midday I could feel a twinge in my urethra (I have had NGU before and it felt like this), by the evening I knew there was something not right. The next day the pain in my urethra as worse. I assumed it was NGU again and have gotten anti-biotics from my doctor. But now I read that STD's dont show up that fast- my symptom started within 12 hours, even less maybe. There is no discharge at all, no real itchiness, just a mild constant pain in my penis.

I slept on and off on Tuesday and I didn’t get the Metronidazole filled until Wednesday. I took my first dose on Wednesday and by Thursday my vaginal discharge had changed from the light watery type to thick and white. I don’t have a great sense of smell, but I never once had a bad foul/fishy odor. I waited until Friday to see if the ER would call my back but they never did, so I called them around noon and asked them what the results were.

It is recommended that those who are given the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis and are then told they also have Chlamydia and Gonorrhea when they are low-risk (ie. have (-) partner and are in a monogamous relationship) should request a culture test. The tx for BV is metronidazole, an antibiotic that DOES NOT kill gc/chlamydia. If the culture is negative it's because you never had it, not bc the medication erradicated it. I know because it happened to me.

Any way, you should wait the 7 days like chlamydia. It gives enough time for the medication to work and ensure not passing it.

A couple weeks later, my urethritis and drip gets even worse and I start to have full on discharges.I get tested yet again, and I bring girl #1 with me. She's had absolutely no symptoms. She was even examined and the doctor said she looked fine.We both get Doxycycline and I feel better.Tests were negative.I then continued to have unprotected sex with girl #1 and everything is normal.A couple months later I start having sex with girl #2 again.

The shots may have been cefoxitin, which covers both gonorrhea and many of the other possible bacteria; metronidazole also covers additional bacteria. (If the shots were ceftriaxone rather than cefoxitin, that's good for gonorrhea but not the not the other bacteria that could be involved.

I've been feeling/having penile dishcarge for almost 3 months after sex with woman I didn't know well. Hello I had a pelvic exam 2 days ago and also we got peace of mind testing done and I was wondering if even if you don't have symptoms of chlamydia or Gohnereah can your cervix still have discharge coming out? And can the obgyn see tell tell signs that theres a std ?

I was diagnosed with ngu took the medicine and mygirgirlfriend took the meds also. We waited over a week like the Dr said to have sex. Well again the pain and discharge are back so I went to see the Dr again. He gave me a shot and more meds for me and my girlfriend. We have been using protection condoms after that and waited 10 days before having sex. Now the pain and discharge is back again. She went to the clinic and came up negative for ngu but came up positive for bacterial vaginosis.

The urinary symtoms have reduced after a 2 week course of doxy along with cefuroxime and then metronidazole, but I still have some discomfort/ache in the balls and bladder after urinating a week+ post treatment. The scary part is I've been tested for HIV at 12 weeks negative but I've had fatigue/tiredness, slightly swollen nodes in my neck and a cough since about 4-6 weeks post exposure. Also my daughter has had a persistent cough for about the same time (for 2 months).

Hi, I have Bactorial Vaginosis, and they gave my some antibiotics, Metronidazole, but the nurse told me you cannot drink alcohol at all while taking this medication, so I wanna wait until after the New Year like either Sunday or Monday, to start taking it. Is that a problem to wait to take it, the nurse said it was fine to wait, But I just wanted to know, it won't make the infection worse will it waiting 5 or 6 days to start taking the medication??

re having discharge on its own and your neg. for chlamydia and gono try testing for Trick and NGU... if you only had unprotected oral then you weren't at risk for chlamydia but you were at risk for gono which you are neg for and trick and NGU. .

Now that I have started metronidazole should I just stop on the 4th day, and wait for the new doxycycline plus metronidazole regime? That is, will taking another 3 days of it without the doxycycline make me build up a resistance to it or should I stay the course and see if another 3 days helps. I'm concerned about the testing I'm receiving (and confusing results) and it perhaps has alot to do with communicating with non-native English speakers( us not understanding each other).

However, I only had sex with my boyfriend (it was protected and he was a vrigin). Prior to that I had only had oral sex once and fingering. Is it likely that I have a STD or can the BV cause these cramps? Or can this be a signal of PID although the pain isn't persistent?

Hi. I tested negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea but postive for NGU. I have been on multiple courses of antibiotics, starting with the standard azithromycin single dose, then double dose, doxycyline for 7 days, doxycycline for 7 days plus metronidazole for 5 days, doxycycline for 7 days plus something else for 5 days, and finally erythromycin at 500mg 4 times a day for 21 days.

so recently we went to a clinic for detailed researched because we got tired of using useless medicines and further fertilizing problems.. so we got tested for chlamydia/candida/ureaplasma/mycoplasma and also they cultured the semen and vaginal discharge. Doctor said I got mycoplasma and ureaplasma . Also he said that there were Gardrenalla on the plate. For my bf he said he got only ureaplasma.
