It started out as a mild case of gastroenteritis (diarhhea and bad cramping in my general abdominal region and down my legs to my toes - similar to the feelings of menstrual cramps). I wasn't getting better so my college health services nurse suggested a lot of stool samples to do tests. C-Diff came back negative, as did many other things, but I am still sick. About 5 days ago, I started passing only mucus during some of my bowel movements. Other times, I would pass normal, soft stool.
For the past 5 months, I've been having intense pain in my lower back/lower right quadrant of my stomach. It should be noted that whenever I'd have menstrual cramps, these are the same types of pains I'd have. Except the pains became constant...everyday versus just around my period. They're so intense and achy, that it takes Vicodin for me to be able to handle the pain. Vicodin!
Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after. I was reading "Lilalee" 's post and what she said about her problem with nexium and her symptoms are very similar to my girlfriends.
When I get an attack, the egg-burping starts first, with, or followed immediately by, the massive bloating and then the upper stomach pain starts. The abdominal cramping and an urgent feeling of a need to **** comes next. This is unbearable because I am usually constipated, which makes the back pain that accompanies these attacks, much, much worse. I am eventually doubled over in pain and unable to walk; just lying in bed moaning and praying I find a comfortable position for a while.
i do take ibuprofen from time to time when i have a headache or menstrual cramps but haven't noticed a connection to my stomach pain, it doesn't seem to directly help or hinder. they didn't check my gallbladder function.
I was also having crazy manic episodes but that's beside the point. I was ovulating at the time of the cramps, but it was all upper. Some days it was lower too, but those just felt like menstrual cramps. I've been bloated almost everyday since then. My bowel movements have been normal, I haven't felt any nausea. I'm just wondering what these pains can be. Is it just gas or what? I try to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and grains to keep everything in order and moving.
IT HAS BEEN EXACTLY 7 DAYS SINCE I WAS SUPPOSE TO GET MY period, BUT no period. I HAVE BEEN HAVING MENSTRUAL LIKE CRAMPS FREQUENTLY URINATING.. I DON'T REALLY HAVE ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS. I WAS TOLD THE "14 DAYS BEFORE YOUR EXPECTED period" IS WHEN YOU OVULATE...WELL YEAH I LOOKED AT THE CALENDER && UGH SUPRISING I HAD UNPROTECTED SEX ON THAT DAY. LATER I RESEARCHED THAT THAT WAS A MYTH. [14 DAYS THING] THE SITE THAT TOLD ME IT WAS A MYTH SAID...
I got my three days ago and am still having bad cramps as well. I agree w/ the poster who said it is more like labor pains then menstrual cramps. ugghh I am so frustrated I tried going for a walk today and the contractions (for lack of a better term) got so bad I had to stop. And umm, brooklynn86 I had sex last night and I do believe it made my cramping/back pain worse today.?? I wouldn't recommend it until the cramping at least lessens.
I would like to complain about abdominal cramps which last already for about 3 months. though there are times that I dont have adbominal cramps, but most of the time almost everyday. I notice also that every time I have abdominal cramps I have loose bowel movement (LBM). Before I just thought that I'm hungry but even after few minutes after eating I still feel the abdominal cramps or pain.
what could cause shortness of breath during my menstrual cycle? this began when i was 11 years old and i've now been dealing with it for 28 years. some months are worse than others. it usually just lasts a few days but is miserable. it can begin a few days before my period starts or during my period. it seems to be a hereditary thing. my mother and grandmother had the same problem and my daughter also seems to have it. i've asked doctors about it and nobody seems to have any clue.
This morning after getting dressed I got into my car to take kids to school. My upper part of my stomach started spasming. It looks and feels like a baby kicking me or a baby in the womb that has hiccups. I had a double tubal after my son was born and I'm not late on my menstrual cycle. I can stand up and they go away, they go away when I lay down as well. I don't have any pain, or shortness of breath. It's just really annoying! Is there anything that I can do to rid myself of this.

I am a 39 year old female. For the past 2 1/2 months I have been experiencing upper left quadrant abdominal pain. It tends to localize below my ribs but above the navel, about 3 inches left of center. My side also gets tender and my mid back gets muscle spasmy. The pain has sometimes feels like a very tender pulled muscle, but also will feel like a sharper twinge (similar to what I've experienced sometimes when jogging).
The menstrual period is always exactly 14 days after ovulation. The time from period end to ovulation is variable. A woman is most likely to get pregnant on the three days preceding or the day of ovulation. There are four major players involved in regulating a woman's menstrual cycle: The HYPOTHALAMUS: an area of the brain just above the pituitary gland. The PITUITARY GLAND: a little gland that hangs from a stalk just behind the eyes.
I was assured by doctornothing else was wrong and things got better. Butnow I got an itcing in my anus andtingling, I woke up at night and thought itfelt like something crawling, maybe worms. It also felt a little swollen.Than all of a sudden the itching stopped.
If negative, you can further your investigation with tests to evaluate the upper digestive tract - namely an upper GI series or upper endoscopy. These tests can evaluate for ulcers, inflammation of the upper GI tract, hiatal hernia, or GERD. You may want to discuss these options with your personal physician or ask for a GI referral. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
I am 25 and I have had "flutters" in the upper left side of my stomach for the past week. I can feel it inside and out and sometimes it does feel like a heartbeat. At first I attributed it to gas, so I bought gas pills. I've been taking the gas pills once a day, but I am still getting this flutter.

First it started as pain in my lower abdomen, almost like menstrual cramps. Then yesterday, it shifted up to about, under my ribs.. and it was like pressure, felt like something I could push out, like there was a big air bubble trapped or something. now today, it has felt like cramps again, down in my lower abdomen and right now, I am feeling it a little on my sides and upper abdomen kind of.. it's like a pulsing pain right now.. it starts and then stops for a few mins and then starts again.
We put her to bed and the next day (and since then) she's been fine. I noticed none of the replies mentioned menstrual cramps, so I wanted to add my two cents. Hope your granddaughter is fine now and enjoyed the snow! Here in Michigan, we love it!

He also seemed to believe the pains I had were acid reflux, which I have had in the past, and I KnoW that's not what they were. It felt more like menstrual cramps, but in my entire abdomen. Incidentally, I had completed my menstrual cycle about a week earlier, so that wasn't it either. now, a week later, I still have a very distended stomach, which seems to become worse as the day goes on.
About 1 year ago I began having pain in my right upper arm, between the shoulder and elbow, about mid arm where the biceps brachii muscle or brachialis muscle is. I went to my Primary Physician who said it was a torn brachialis muscle. Since I was working at a 2nd job, I thought it might be job related so I went through the whole Workman's Comp issue. They sent me to 4 doctors who did nothing for me, finally the case was settled and my lawyer got most of the money, but I still have the pain.
I was just looking to find out more about this same thing on the internet and found this site. About 4 times a year I get stomach cramps that cause me to start sweating, intense diarrhea...the pain gets so severe, it makes me want to vomit. Often I find walking around or getting up and down helps the bowels to move and then I am fine; however, once, about 10 years ago, I passed out face first in the bathroom and woke up later. Then, just two days ago, another episode and fainting spell.
Its 4 weeks later and I am twitching all over. Mostly in my right calf, but in both calfs, upper legs, arms and fingers. As well as a few twitches on my stomach. I only get them when my muscles are at rest. not when I'm using them. And mostly when I'm laying in bed to go to sleep. I originally thought it might be one of two anti-psychotic medications that my doctor had me try. But I only took each for about two days and stopped because I noticed the twitch in my thumb.

Hi there, Depo vera may disrupt the menstrual cycle. It can cause irregular bleeding or spotting, heavy or prolonged bleeding, or your menstrual bleeds to stop altogether. After stopping depo it may take some time for your hormones to normalize. upper stomach pain and cramp can be due to many causes like gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease; peptic ulcer etc.Other causes of delayed periods like pregnancy, hormonal imbalances, ovulation disorders and thyroid disorders should be ruled out.
I have had white discharge from my belly button, redness inside the belly button and the discharge smelled bad like pus. I had lower stomach cramps, a fever of about 97.1, exhaustion, upper leg cramps, lower back cramps, headaches. Doctor took a urine spec and said I had protien in urine...probably a urinary infection However, the urine specimen he told me did not grow bacteria(?)
