Avatar n tn If severe you should look up peripheral vascular disease. I would ask my doctor if it was ok to take an aspirin every day to thin the blood out a bit and help it circulate. I would also check my family history for diabetes. Maybe get checked. Take your blood pressure everyday and keep it under 160/90 when at all possible. Take sugar out of your diet as much as possible and keep blood sugars below 200! Wear socks, take baths often before bed. Prop them up when you sleep.
Avatar f tn There are many ways to treat Micro vascular angina, such as lifestyle changes and medications. These methods can effectively reduce the severity and frequency of symptoms and minimize the risk of heart attack.
Avatar m tn Did any doctor check the peripheral vascular system with a doppler study to see if your circulation is working properly in your legs? Peripheral vascular disease can be hereditary and I seem to remember reading it can strike even in one's teen years. If you have had a lipid panel that demonstrated high triglycerides, etc., you might strongly consider getting this ruled out.
Avatar m tn Excluding infections or toxic causes to the neuropathy is important, as is excluding a vascular cause (ischemic neuropathy due to poor blood flow to the extremities as occurs with peripheral vascular disease). Rheumatologic evaluation, sometimes repeated evaluations several months apart, may be necessary before a cause is found, if one can be found.
Avatar m tn ◦no known vascular disease but at high risk because of age and/or risk factors ◦stable angina ◦MI over 1 year previously and not at high risk of vascular events (none of the following): bypass surgery, events involving multiple vascular beds, >1 ischemic event, diabetes, or high cholesterol ◦stroke (acute or remote) but no other reason for having a high risk of vascular events 2.
Avatar f tn Jaybay has summed it a vascular surgeon well. They treat vascular diseases. Vascular disease includes any condition that affects the circulatory system. Vascular disease ranges from diseases of your arteries, veins, and lymph vessels to blood disorders that affect circulation. Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) or Peripheral artery disease (PAD) and atherosclerosis examples of diseases of the blood vessels.
Avatar n tn Physical causes can include any disorder that prevents the nervous system or vascular system from responding appropriately to arousal. They are diabetes, multiple sclerosis or surgery. Vascular problems can be caused by medications, diabetes, high blood pressure, and atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Hormonal problems, kidney disease, liver disease, excessive alcohol ingestion, and infections can also cause ED. Consult a specialist for further assistance.
Avatar m tn Thyroid dysfunction, vascular diseases like atherosclerosis, peripheral vascular disease and many chronic diseases can cause this problem. What is the cause of low sperm count? If the cause is known then medical or surgical intervention may be effective. Empirically many medical approaches have been tried for treating this condition like using clomid, tamoxifen, vitamin E, testosterone, vitamin C,antioxidants, etc.
Avatar m tn It can be caused by certain medications, including drugs for high blood pressure and depression. Thyroid dysfunction, vascular diseases like atherosclerosis, peripheral vascular disease and many chronic diseases can cause this problem. Treating the cause and lifestyle changes like daily exercise, avoiding smoking may help. Indulge in foreplay before the act.For medications it is best to consult a doctor. Only after ascertaining the cause medicines can be prescribed. I hope it helps.
Avatar m tn Peripheral vascular angioplasty and/or stenting can be done by vascular surgery or interventional radiology.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with white matter ischemic disease. It all started when I went to my eye doctor because I was having double vision occasionally. He discovered my optic nerves were swollen. I had all the tests, MRI, blood work, etc. and still he can't find out why my optic nerves are swollen or why I'm seeing double. He says there is no blockage. I should mention I am 67 years old. I have very bad edema in my legs too and the doctors don't know what is causing that either.
Avatar n tn t know of any problem with taking Zyrtec-D with Plavix. You can also read your medication leaflets with the medications to check or check with your pharmacist. If you are being treated for high blood pressure or heart disease/vascular problem, I would NOT recommend taking the Zyrtec-D WITHOUT discussing this with your physician.
Avatar m tn TSH — typically low in Graves disease Total or free T4 — usually elevated Total or free T3 — often elevated Laboratory tests used to help diagnose Graves disease and distinguish it from other autoimmune conditions may include one or more tests used to detect the presence of thyroid antibodies: Thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin (TSI) — The presence of this antibody is diagnostic for Graves disease.
Avatar n tn I would suggest some laboratory workup including liver funciton tests and creatine kinase. Another possibility is that you have developed peripheral vascular disease, since this is often seen in patients with coronary artery disease. In this case you may need a procedure called an arterial brachial index, where measurements of pressures are compared in the arms and legs.
Avatar n tn Hello, One of the possibilities for your symptoms is Raynaud’s disease. It is a vascular disorder that affects blood flow to the extremities which include the fingers, toes, nose and ears when exposed to temperature changes or stress. I feel that a consultation of a physician will be the best. Other causes of cold and blue peripheries like diabetes, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid also have to be ruled out.
Avatar n tn My 57yr old mother has hep c, cirrhosis of the liver, and now vascular disease. Her platelet count is very low and we are told that there is nothing that the drs can do for her vascular disease. Her toes are purple and her pulse is very faint in her left foot.. My question is isn't there something that can be done for my mother?
Avatar f tn does she have a vascular ring or not? If she has pre-existing tracheal narrowings due to her auto-immune disease, independent of a vascular ring, perhaps they feel that the narrowing caused by a ring is not significant and that repair would be unlikely to change her airway status. You said they said the MRI was OK....so not sure if the ring was a correct diagnosis or not. Fainting would not likely be associated with a vascular ring.
Avatar n tn Micro vascular brain disease is a collective term for vascular arteriolar pathology, metabolic endocrinal abnormalities and hemorrhagic abnormalities. Clinically one has cerebral ischemic events that have a tendency to recur and progress to multi infarct dementia. These ischemic events are associated with depression, parinsonian manifestations and essential hypertension..
7863652 tn?1394853940 my test said no mycardial perfusion abnormalities but left ventricular dysfunction of ef 39% i have been looking around the internet to make sence of this. I looked up what vascular disease means, im wondering if the meds will have any effect on my heart and should i look into something alternative to take instead if there are safer drugs that will keep me mroe stable what do you recommend.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed a number of medications for this which seem to work for awhile, BP creeps up, increase dose, works awhile, creeps up, get to max dose, change med to something else, then start over with the cycle again. When the facial tingling occured, I went to emergency room. By then the tingling had stopped, but they did an MRI with the following findings: Few scattered foci T2 prolongation periventicular white matter.
Avatar m tn Do you remember what the bush was called? Find out what it was, and whether it is toxic. If you find out what it was then you can find out what chemicals it contains. That would be something for the doctors to work with.
Avatar n tn My mother is 80 years old. Since 2018, she has been seeing her deceased husband (my father), her deceased parents, and her deceased sister in her own home. In other words, she has been having hallucinations. A CT scan of the head, without contrast, was performed on my mother 3 weeks ago. According to the result of this CT scan, "severe cerebral white matter microvascular ischemic changes" can be seen.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 49 and very active. I was diagnosed with Chronic Micro vascular disease of the brain not to long ago. It was found by accident after a car accident back in March of 2011. Three days after the accident, I was home, and got a debilitating headache that lasted about 5 minutes and continued aching for the next 3 or more weeks. Work sent me to a neurologist and the tests were done (CT & MRI) it was also indicated that I, at one time in my life, had a mini-stroke.
