Lower back pain lying down

Common Questions and Answers about Lower back pain lying down

pain

Avatar f tn With my first pregnancy and again with my second I have experienced some pretty bad lower back pain starting around 15 weeks. I haven't gained any weight yet so I know it doesn't have anything to do with that. Could my babies sit on a nerve or something? It hurts constantly and nothing helps. It is excruciating at times when trying to sit up or turn over while lying down.
Avatar f tn Two days ago I began experiencing pain in the lower right side of my back. The pain is also present in my right hip and partially down my right thigh. When I put weight on my right leg the pain becomes worse. Sitting and lying down can be uncomfortable at times. Certain movements also seem to make it worse.
7891785 tn?1397532007 Im having SERIOUS lower back pain.. lets see if i can describe this and it make sence. Keep in mind im only 11 wks, so obviously not any type of labor pains. But it kind of feel like knots and a TIGHT feeling. I guess kind of like it needs to be popped. Ive tried "popping" my lower back, but its just not happening. It hurts the worst when i lay on my back and when i go from lying down to sitting up. Is there anything i can do or anyone would suggest? Ive tried ice and heat aslo.
Avatar f tn I'm 10Weeeks+4days and having lower back pain as well ....
Avatar n tn I have been having acute lower back pain and abdominal pain for the last few days. Strangely I sleep well during the night and when I wake up the pain seems to have disappeared , but progressively gets worse as the day goes on. The pain feels like really bad labour pains and hurts when standing or when sitting in an upright position but when lying down it's less painful.
Avatar f tn ve been having bad back pain since I was 24 weeks, it normally felt better after lying down. The past 2 weeks it has gotten worse and lying down no longer helps. I know she must be positioned on a nerve and it's killing me. I'm only 37+5 weeks and can't imagine being in this pain for another 3 weeks. I hate hearing FTMs go past their due date because that's potentially another 4 or 5 weeks.
Avatar f tn I am new to this website I have been suffering with lower back pain for 7 months which I severe at night time it's a crushing numbing sensation I was taking 30/500 cocodamol but they stopped working and have tried taking my boyfriends morphine 10mg 2 5ml spoons every two hours but that doesn't work either I know I shouldn't take a prescription that's not mine but I wanted relief it seems to have got worse in the last 2-3 weeks I have had an mri and I am awaiting the results I am
Avatar m tn I am a 46 year old female and for the last couple of days I have been experiencing pain in my mid lower back. Other symptons include numbness in right arm when showering, pain at tip of tongue. What can this be? I have a strong suspicion these pains are attributed to anxiety.
Avatar f tn Hi Cmm, Welcome to MedHelp's Pain Management Forum. I am so sorry to hear about your undiagnosed pain but glad that you found us. Obviously the pain is signalling you that something is not right in your body. You should consult your PCP. He/she will have better answers for you. Your pain may be referred pain, meaning it is originating in one location but felt in another. Do you still have a gallbladder? Often pain from the gallbladder or one if it's ducts can feel like back pain.
Avatar m tn   The second possibilit is when your back is hyperlordotic (this means that the inward curve of your lower back is greater than it should be), the pressure on the facet joints are increased. Most people who have a hyperlordotic lower back experience pain or discomfort when lying prone on their stomach or supine on their back. In prone-lying this is due to the fact that gravity is putting more weight on the joints.
Avatar f tn There are other issues that can exacerbate back pain -- laying on your back without supporting your knees, lying on your side without keeping the spine straight and supporting the neck. A skilled chiropractor or physiatrist / physical therapist can give you advice and exercises appropriate to your current condition.
Avatar f tn it is usually worse when sitting or lying down - I awake many nights with pain. I had an x ray when came back clear. I have seen a chiropractor with no results. My fear is cancer. From what I have read, that seems to be the answer to that type of pain. Could anything else cause back pain like mine and it not be cancer?
Avatar f tn Ouch!! Excruciating lower back pain..shoots down into my leg...any tips on relieving this pain?? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Hey! I am 6w 3d and for about 2 weeks I've been having lower back pain that's been getting worse. Now its unbearable when I'm standing or sitting or moving around. I get some relief lying down. Has anyone else had this problem? With my first pregnancy I had all back labor. I'm wondering if its connected.
403156 tn?1290150018 Out of nowhere today, I got an extreme pain in my lower back. I cannot stand up straight and it hurts to walk, particularly when I take a step with my left leg. I am kind of leaning to the right and people at work commented this - I ultimately had to go home early. I took 1000mg of motrin, I know that is excessive, but even that has not done anything for the pain. I tried lying down and I could barely get up out of bed - it took me a few minutes.
Avatar m tn I'm suffering from severe pain on the left side of my hips, which I believe is the cause for my lower back pain on my left side as well. I am not crazy about taking pain pills nor can't afford a professional massage or chiropractic therapy. Besides exercises and the like, are there any other milder pain medication. besides Ibuprofen and aspirin that I can take that have no side effects and/or are not addictive?
Avatar f tn I rested for 4 months (apr - now(27th July)) without any heavy lifting, and last week when i tired to move my furniture, i stil felt the intense pain on my lower right back the moment i bend down and lift my bed up. Besides experiencing pain during heavy lifting, ever since March, i noticed that occasionally(not everytim) when i sneeze my lower right back will feel the pain. Most of the time is when I'm lying on my bed sneezing and sometimes when i'm standing, I will feel the pain.
Avatar n tn Heat packs/ hot water bottles placed on the origin of the pain (in this case buttock) while lying down help a lot too, and other than that, just strong pain-killers and avoid bending over as that can worsen the pain. I found placing a pillow under my lower back/buttocks when lying flat at night (so I kinda curved up slightly) took the intense pressure off and helped towards relief too, so maybe try that... Best of luck!
1523981 tn?1311318595 Does anyone know a trick to help ease lower back pain. I am only 24 weeks and have had lower back pain for three days now, I have tried a warm bath, tylenol, heating pad, and ice. Nothing seems to help and I can't get comfortable I need to find some sort of relief before it interfers with my job.
Avatar f tn Could be the baby lying on your sciatic nerve. It's common in the second and third trimesters. It's very painful. It's like a shooting pain going from your lower back down your leg. I had it with my first and I have it with this baby too. I have heard the same about getting on all 4's to try and shift the baby's position.
Avatar m tn I have this really bad, dull lower back pain. This is the very lower part of my back. This pain especially hurts when I'm standing, goes away when I'm lying down. I can't really walk for a long period of time due to it. Can anyone give me a general diagnosis and recommend some exercises and stretches that'll help me out?
Avatar f tn ve been lying down and propping up my feet, and my stomach had been tightening up quite a lot. And Everytime I lie down on my back, I can feel cramps, and my lower back hurting. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn m having pain in my Thoracic region as well. My lower back pain could be the result of my regular exercises in past as I used to do gymnastics but now the pain in the upper region has surprised me a lot. I don't know if it's just because of the unusual sleeping patterns or something else. I would reallly appreciate it if you can give me a hint about it being just a regular pain or a symptom to some kind of disease. Thank you.
Avatar n tn With my second pregnancy i had the same thing going on with me; every time is sit down for a while or lay down..this pain in my lower back(tailbone) would start to hurt. Some times it was difficult for me to switch positions after the pain kicks in. Now in this pregnancy(3rd) I've also experienced it a couple of times; but after my pregnancy it normally just stops so i hope yours would do the same.
