Avatar f tn This past week my back pain has escalated :( its my lower right side.. the pain shoots down the side of my butt too! It kind of feels like my nerves are grinding together with my bones. Im 20 weeks so i can only imagine its going to get worse. Anyone have any suggestions to help with this or anyone have the same problem?
Avatar m tn Burning sensation and other radiating leg pain are normally due to an impingement of the sciatic nerve in the lower back, and would usually show up on an MRI scan. A disc prolapse being the most usual. But as the sciatic nerve is the longest in the body it can be impinged anywhere along it's length, the piriformis muscle area being an alternative to lower back impingement. Check it out on google.
Avatar m tn 54yr old female, have had this chronic lower back pain that radiates to hip area.I do have arthritis in lower back and hip,but the meds for it does nothing.I stretch every night before bed and every morning before getting out to no avail.I look like I'm 90 yrs old after a pain full ten minutes of trying to get out of bed.I have to inhale to stand up straight(omg the pain) but once I pee and get into kitchen for coffee I'm fine. The only doctor I haven't seen is a nerve doctor.
Avatar n tn True sciatica is a condition that occurs when a herniated lumbar disc compresses one of the contributing roots of the sciatic nerve. This type of low back pain is less common than other causes and conditions that produce back pain. For instance, sporting activities, recreational activities, and heavy labor can cause back and leg pain, which is commonly misdiagnosed as sciatica.
1943759 tn?1324045251 My husband has severe pain in his lower back. He says it feels like a pintched nerve. This is the second time he gets it. He's been taking Advil for the pain and been putting ice hot but it doesnt help much. Is there something he can take for the pain? Its fraustrating to him because it affects his work (he's a driver).
Avatar n tn I have dull pain in lower right side and back A month ago I had shingles in the lower right. back and side, that healed in about a week. Nerve end pain in the lower back has been a problem since healing of the shingles and was treated with 25 mg Lyrica. With gradually less pain from the nerve ends, I now experience the dull pain inside the right side and back. I am slightly constipated but manageable.
4945970 tn?1361450429 Lower back pain is like an achy back and the sciatic nerve is a major nerve than runs from your back and down your leg to your feet. Sciatic nerve pain is more painful, sharp, shooting type pains that shoot from your lower back and down your leg.
Avatar f tn I have extreme lower back pain when I lay down & try to lift up its like I can't move even when I go to stand up soon as I put any pressure down I get this horrible pain in my lower back and I can't walk. The pain is like a 20 if 10 was the highest.
Avatar n tn Probably. I'm 35+6weeks too and have been having excruciating lower back pain including sciatic nerve pain and soreness. Does your job require you to be on your feet a lot? Even if it doesn't you should take breaks from sitting or standing too long . I actually have to get acupuncture and regular massages from my husband just to be able to function. You can also try a heating pad and Tylenol. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I'm only 8 weeks And 2 days and I'm experiencing the worst lower back pain. My job does consist of me standing for 8 hrs a day and I just got off but this pain is really hurting. Is this normal? And what can I do to help it?
Avatar n tn um, prayer? Sorry, you don't need a smart aleck! Have you tried epidural steroid injections? They really help some people; for me, I was happy with the 5 hours of relief I got from the numbing medication! I actually had one epidural that helped for almost 2 months, but it was a diagnostic epidural, and the neurosurgeon that did it doesn't do treatment injections. A nerve block probably wouldn't work well with that pain, since you need that nerve to stand, walk, etc.
1388123 tn?1283692154 I have had 2 back surgeries because my orthopedic Dr always claims that its not my hips, but the pain in my lower back, SI joints, hips & down my leg are hurting so bad. The only difference between now & before my other spine surgeries is that now the pain is also in my mid back.. I am going in for another MRI today & the thought of another spine surgery sickens me. How many can a person have to finally stop the problems?

669618 tn?1289403248 if it extends through your butt to the back of your leg, it's likely sciatic nerve pain----if it's strictly in your back, it's likely a muscle or ligament there in the area of the pain. Currently my lower left back hurts (what a coincidence!! ;-) ), but I know what's causing mine. I was pulling weeds in the back yard on Sunday and i haven't done any bending over work in a while---so the muscle over there is a little ticked off.
Avatar f tn What other symptoms do you have? apart from sciatica (leg and foot problems) do you have pain in your lower back, bum, groin, hip ? Can u bend forward touch your toes for instance ot does that bring the leg pain on? No harm in a second opinion, but I would NOT have surgery without knowing where the nerve was impinged.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm 29 and I've had lower back problems and pain since I was about 8 years old. I went to see a neurologist and he sent me for an MRI. He got the results back and I have 2 bulging discs and one is pinching my s1 nerve and the other is pinching the s2 nerve, and I have arthritis in my lower back. He told me to do physical therapy but ever since I have been doing the physical therapy it's only been making it hurt worse.
Avatar f tn With my first pregnancy and again with my second I have experienced some pretty bad lower back pain starting around 15 weeks. I haven't gained any weight yet so I know it doesn't have anything to do with that. Could my babies sit on a nerve or something? It hurts constantly and nothing helps. It is excruciating at times when trying to sit up or turn over while lying down.
5692644 tn?1388472314 I have this sharp lower back leading into my side pain. Does anyone know what it could be? It started occurring a day after I felt my son moving all day long. It comes and goes but it keeps my awake and hurts to set or lay. When I stand and try to walk my legs shake.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 15 weeks on Tuesday, and last night I woke up with the worst lower back pain and it's been persistent all day. It's a nagging, painful, sore back ache that radiates from the middle of my lower back to the outsides of my hips. It reminds me of my period back cramps I used to get. I know my body is stretching and muscles are changing- but I'd just like to hear from someone else that's feeling the same.
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain in my right leg and right foot to the point I have stopped running/exercising. The pain is a deep pain and very achy. Also at times the skin will have different sensations from one part of say the calf to the other side of the calf. I have had the pain for 8 to 9 years and when the pain first started it was primarily in the thigh I had a bone scan and MRI and found nothing. The pain in the foot is most aggrevating and has caused me to alter my exercising.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a pinched nerve or baby laying on nerve causing sharp lower back pain?
9131648 tn?1406565316 Anyone else experiencing lower back pain or back pain at all? I feel like I am too early on to be feeling this much pain. Although, technically my weight gain is said to be excessive since I gained 8 pounds instead of 5 pounds in my first tri. Could that have something to do with it?
Avatar f tn ve been having pain in the lower right section of my back. Does anyone know what could be causing this and if i should worry?
Avatar m tn Hi. I am having pain in my lower right back. This has been going on now for almost 2 years. My symptoms change all the time whether it be sharp pains in my groin, my leg and my hip, and muscle spasms but the pain in my back is always there. The doctors say there is nothing they can do and nothing showed up in my MRI. I have been going to physio, massage and chiropractor for over a year now and nothing is working for me. PLEASE HELP!!! I would appreciate any comments that you have.
