Avatar f tn I do. I started dieting in earnest this summer and lost about 5 pounds. I thought it was 10, but the scale said otherwise. I'm running now 3 days a week-6 miles running/6 miles fast walking. I am now REALLY seeing a difference. At first I seemed to gain weight, but my pants are loosening dramatically and I'm getting great results. The only way I've ever lost weight dramatically is by exercising.
Avatar f tn Have you thought of keeping a food journal, if even for a couple of weeks, to make sure your getting enough calories and the right kinds of foods? You could also measure yourself to see if your losing inches instead of weight. Don't forget even if you know what your doing your body sometimes takes a little longer to figure it out. Don't stop what your doing.
Avatar f tn Running fast is better for performance, running far is better for endurance. Just do what you like, both are good exercise, but running fast gets the work done more quickly if time is a factor. For me, I always liked running when I was still able to run and had no desire to get it over with too quickly, but for performance training, sprinting will make you stronger and more athletic overall.
Avatar f tn -running or even fast walking (NO WALKING) for about 30min each day is really helpful (fast walking actually burns alot more calories than running and works you out more) With running or fast walking, make sure you move your arms alot. -50-100squats each day will definitely tone your legs and hips -Horizontal bicycle or situps workout your stomach (I personally find that horizontal bicycles work me out more than situps) Sooo yuup!!
Avatar f tn First if your body is not getting enough foods it can easily go into starvation mode and decide to hold or even gain weight. 1200 calories seems very low, especially given how much you exercise. So maybe you should keep your food around 1300 at minimum? It's hard to know the "sweet" spot that will keep your body healthy while loosing weight, but if you don't find it you will have a really hard time loosing weight.

I was not big to begin with about 130 and currently almost down to 100.suffered for years with an eating disorder and it resurfaced recently worse than ever. was hospitalized with vomiting blood recently and after released I have no choice but to vomit after every little sip or bite of anything because even if I wamted to keep it down my body forces it out.

Avatar n tn I know that many people are not into exercises, but really, you can sign up for gym or find something on the internet you think is suitable of exercises. Running and walking is very good. Definitely cut out fast food and too much candy/chocolate/etc. Of course, it's not like it's not allowed, just don't overdo it. If you're really not an exercise friend, you can try what I did and another girl who succeeded did. Eat two teaspoon of honey right before going to sleep.
Avatar n tn I have recently lost a lot of weight and I have struggled with my weight for a long time but there is no quick fix, you need to follow a plan of healthy eating and exercise and I know that is not what you want to hear but losing weight is a life choice and you will need to think about what you eat for the rest of your life as your body has got to be with you for the rest of your life.
Avatar f tn Safely losing 25 pounds by December is impossible. I'm not sure how you've lost the 35, so far, but if you're stuck, try changing your routine. Increase/decrease your exercise and calorie intake. If you continually do the exact same thing, your body gets used to it and simply expects that. Changing your routine every few days will keep things more "upset", so your body won't have a chance to get used to it.

That means you have to learn something about how your mind works, because eating too much of the wrong foods is a psychological decision that has many meanings...You can go to the library and find my book on the subject, Shrink Yourself...or go to the website of that name and read the free articles and use some of the free tools.

Losing slowly and steadily by changing your lifestyle and diet is the way to go, but nobody can tell you how quickly the weight will come off. It depends on your metabolism, how much exercise you can handle, and how disciplined and knowledgeable you are about eating healthfully.

Avatar f tn I disagree Barb135.. if you eat healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, meat/protein/fish, eggs, healthy fats such as olive oil, coconut oil nuts and seeds, avocado, butter, cream.. drink water and cut out the foods such as grains, legumes.. exercise regularly a couple times a week but not excessively don't spend every day working out and you'll see the weight drop. No counting, you won't be hungry, you will have energy and you will lose weight.. my dad lost 20 lbs in the first 1.

Avatar f tn How much is a lot? One week isn't much time, but it is long enough to start weight loss. The first week is usually the biggest drop in weight. Watch your calories, get in some extra cardio, & eat your greens. Good luck!
