Avatar f tn I took a tramadol yesterday and today and it eased the withdrawal some. Should I take tramadol for about a week or should I just not take it at all. I know that it too is addictive but wasn't sure if I would be dependent on it after a week. I am afraid that it is just going to prolong my withdrawal and make it last longer. Has anyone been through a similar situation that can give me some input?
9704730 tn?1405741284 I am finishing my 3rd day clean from 15 years of being chained to tramadol. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. How long does this pain from withdrawal last? ?? I am scared of figuring out how to live and function without this drug. I have been on it so long I don't remember how I was without it.
Avatar f tn So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
544292 tn?1268882668 I need more! More information! http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_bad_is_Tramadol_withdrawal Question - How bad is Tramadol WIthdrawal? Answer - Ultram (Tramadol) Withdrawal Tramadol is highly addictive. Normally your doctor would reduce intake slowly. Various withdrawal effects may include shakes, shivers, diarrhea, nausea, and possible flu-like symptoms. Not all people experience will all withdrawal symptoms, and some people may experience others not listed here.
Avatar m tn Yes it will delay the withdrawal because Tramadol hits on many of the same Mu receptors on the brain, it has a horrible withdrawal by itself. Many people use Tramadol to temporarily avoid withdrawal from more powerful opiates until they are able to get more. It's a step down from the subs and hydro but still pretty powerful. They used subs for 3 days while you were doing the detox? Not sure what's the point of that besides maybe stepping you down but 3 days is very short for tapering.
Avatar n tn you will drag out the withdrawal process by taking tramadol, either that or get addicted to the tramadol....possibly just go back to your drug of choice.....you're doing great, but I suggest trying it without the tramadol....the fear of getting sick is far worse than getting sick. You can do it!
Avatar f tn He has not taken a tablet since the night before last and is really suffering but is determined not to take another, does anyone out there have any idea how long it takes for these withdrawal symptons to pass as I am realy worried about the affect this is having on his mental health, he has started to say that he would be better off going for a walk with one of his rifles and sadly I am concerned that this is not just talk.

Avatar f tn Tramahater can give you a clue as to how much longer the symptoms persist..So your 6 weeks away from them? Thats great..Tramadol from what I've seen is worse than your standard pain pill wd's and does last longer...Hopefully she'll spot this soon and give you an idea from her personal experience.....
Avatar n tn I have been taking DHC for a year, I used to take tramadol for a year prior and then switched primarily to DHC. I have done a c/t withdrawal from tramadol and I remember I didnt really feel the effects right away. Its been about 48 hours, maybe a little more, from a cold turkey w/d from a 900mg daily habit of DHC and I havent really been hit with the severe anxiety, depression, or crazy insomnia yet. How long does it take with DHC to kick in?

Avatar f tn I'm in day 5 of my second relapse in a year this relapse didn't last as long as the first maybe a few months of having to have the pk's. But I need some help my ears are bothering me and I don't recall my ears ever bothering me when I DT'd before. It feels like I'm talking/hearing with cotton stuffed in my ears. My teeth hurt and I feel so shaky. I'm so mad at myself for doing this to myself again, but I accept ut is a small part of being an addict.
Avatar m tn Subutex 4/4/4/2/2/2mg. 10 days clean. Feel like hell. How long will acute wd last? Was going cold turkey from that hydro level a good idea? And taking tramadol now for unreal pain from prostatitis. Would wellbutrin help more with wd?
2011031 tn?1328285167 I atleast dont feel like my legs are going to fall off. The last two weeks seemed to drag on forever. How long does it take.
Avatar f tn The part of not being able to sleep is a very hard part of withdrawaling from Tramadol. I know where you are coming from. I'm not sure how long it will last for you, everyone is different. But probably 2-4 weeks before sleep starts returning to normal. Try some sleep aids. Maybe a doctor can help you with that. What makes me wonder, is you said you have not had any sleep in a week. Just two (2) hours. And you took a Tramadol 24 hours ago.
Avatar f tn I'm almost 5 weeks in from recovering from a tramadol addiction. Please be aware that tramadol is very hard to withdrawal from. They may last a little longer but it's so worth it! Gabapentin was prescribed to me for 6 days and was a God send but is NOT the answer and especially not for everyone.
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
1128565 tn?1316721143 I know Tramadol already been used for Effexor withdrawal due to their similarities. Tramadol possesses weak agonist actions at the μ-opioid receptor, releases serotonin, and inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine.
Avatar n tn Mr Junig I currently quit cold turkey on tramadol and was taking a very high dose and am having really bad withdrawal. How long do you think i will feel this way or what can i do to get the opiates out of my body faster than just sitting it out?
Avatar n tn My thoughts constantly turn to ways to get some tramadol and just make this pain stop. Does it ever get easier? Any suggestions? Help.
Avatar f tn Tramadol contains an antidepressant that is closely related to effexor which is commonly regarded as one of the most difficult ADs to withdraw from. Both drugs have metabolites, (the ingredients the drug breaks down to), with longer half lives than usual which means that recovery is a lot more up & down than with straight opiates.
Avatar m tn It's been 75 hours since my last tramadol. I've been taking tramadol for 4 years. I had a rx from my family dr. for tramadol and I also ordered it off the internet from 2 different sites under a few different names. My average day would be 20 50mg tabs a day. I'd usually break that down to 6-7 pills 3 times a day. It pretty much gave me life. I kicked so much *** at work because I was quick, hard working, and couldn't feel a thing. God, I miss my tramadol.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 24 year old registered nurse, and I have read all of these postings and researched tramadol, and have realized that I am addicted to it. I have recently been experiencing dizziness, a feeling like I'm coming out of my skin, diarrhea and nausea. I never would have believed it was tramadol withdrawal. I just took my normal dose of it, and my symptoms are gone, I'm taking that as a big sign of addiction.
