Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro tingling

lexapro

Avatar f tn Hi i waswondering if anyone knows if tingling is related to early hiv infection and also neck aches
Avatar f tn OK here goes. Approx 3 weeks ago I started 10mg of Lexapro. After starting it and being on it for about a week I noticed a "tingling" feeling in my legs and feet. I tried to put up with it and then it started in my face. The feeling was at first tingling but then my feet, legs and face started to feel like the skin was very tight on it. I stopped taking the Lexapro about six days ago and I STILL have the feeling of very bad tightness of the skin on my legs, feet and face.
396332 tn?1320003615 Escitalopram, (Lexapro) needs to reach therapeutic levels in your body, which can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. While you are waiting for this level to be reached, you are not completly "covered" from experiencing anxiety attacks. It is NOT the Lexapro causing you to BEGIN having more attacks. You're simply feeling the anxiety which was already there and which the Lex will eventually control. How long have you been on it?
396332 tn?1320003615 the lexapro has taken me 2 weeks to adjust.. i was nauseated.,. no appetite. lost 10 pounds ../ but now i feel better was getting headaches also.. try and get through 2 weeks .. i hears it helps ..
Avatar f tn Hi I've been on wellbutrin for a few years but my doctor just added escitalopram (Lexapro ). I've been on it for five days now and I'm extremely tired I can't stay awake but can't sleep at night at all. I feel very weak and there was two days that I had tingling. Is this normal? Does the tiredness go away? I can't function like this.
Avatar f tn Namaste, Some questions which are unanswered are whether your discontinuance of Lexapro and subsequent reinstatement of Lexapro were supervised by a physician? And, why did you stop the Lexapro in the first place if it was controlling your symptoms? Lexapro is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Lexapro affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression or anxiety.
237053 tn?1258828426 Can birth control cause side effects such as numbness, tingling, dizziness, fatigue, and weakness? I quit taking them just in case. Just curious if anyone has heard of this. Also the last time my symptoms were here two years ago, I was taking Lexapro. Neither my dr or neuro at the time thought that the antidepressent could cause such neuro symptoms.
Avatar n tn I saw faces in my sleep about a year about n had n extremely scary panic attack after that I was put on abilify n lexapro and the tingling went away a little bit but now its back full force Im still on lexapro but not abilify. I am always very stressed and have extreme anxiety everyday over the littlest things.. About a year ago i got an MRI of my head and everything came back perfect..
Avatar f tn After a few weeks, my nerves settled as well as the tingling. BUT, the tingling is back again. I have heart palpitations here and there, mostly after I drink, whic is NOT often. For the most part, I feel great except for this subtle tingle and just a little anxiety. Its all over and only when I wear tight clothing or think about it. I have not received an MRI since my blood tests showed no inflammation. Could this simply be my anxiety?
15512736 tn?1441120969 I had blood work done, saw a neurologist, had a head and lower back MRI done and everything came back okay. They raised my dosage of lexapro to 20mg and sent me on my way. I'm seeing a psychologist, taking vitamins and doing everything they're telling me to do, but something doesn't feel right. Ive dealt with anxiety for 10+ years now and the way I'm feeling now feels much different than how Ive felt before.
Avatar f tn I have been trying to wean my wife off Lexapro. Presently she is on 5mg daily. Originally she was on 20mg daily. As I understand the withdrawal regiment as one should not reduce the dosage until the patient is stabilized on that particular dosage. Since she has been on 5mg (2 months) we have experienced several symptoms and they have dissipated, however one symptom has lingered for three weeks. This one is absolutely driving her nuts.
Avatar m tn I ask my doctor to put me back on lexapro and it seems it is starting to help me a little bit. Does anybody get similiar symptoms as these just so i can calm myself down? I.E. i am under a lot of stress right now i am going to school almost full time and working full time and a new baby on the way.
1302779 tn?1287405029 hey all I have a question i weaned off lexapro slowly from 20 mg for 10 days to 15 mg for 10 days to 10 mg for 10 days to 5 mg for 10 days this is my first week off completely. I just have this slight numbing sensation in my hands and fingers and toes from time to time and wondered if anyone had any input that weaned off this drug.
91034 tn?1401416303 Doc prescribed me lexapro but of course I have to much anxiety to take it,lol. He rattled of all these "potential" side affects and now I'm pretty sure I will have all of them. I know medicine reacts differently in everyone. But any advice to calm me down so I can actually take the meds.
Avatar f tn So I finally gave in and went to see the dr yesterday after dealing with panic/anxiety attacks for the past 5 months. He gave me a trial supply of Lexapro. I took one pill last night around 9:30pm. 10mg. Yeah.... turns out that was not such a good idea. I tried to go to sleep, but had trouble catching my breath. Then, i get the lovely electric shock sensation starting out at my head and travvelling down.
Avatar n tn Lexapro can take up to 4 WEEKS to reach therapeutic levels in most people. Remember that everybody is different and no two people react exactly the same to a medication and that includes the time it takes to begin working. Quite often with Lexapro, if, after one week, you haven't noticed a clinical improvement, the dose can be increased to the max of 20mg per day.
459772 tn?1206398319 I have been on lexpro for about 1 year...in Aug 07 my physician increased my dose from 20mg to 30...I have gained 20 lbs since and have been extremely tired...my physician suggested I wean off...taking 20 for a week then 10 for a week...well I did that and just stopped after 10mg...that was about 4 days ago...now I'm having small dizzy spells and tingling in my arms and legs...I'm wondering if I should try 5 for a week...2.5...then off...
Avatar f tn i have been taking 30mg of lexapro for several months. added ability. I took 1/2 of the 2mg ability every other day - only took it twice and had severe nausea and then my hands started tingling and became "claw like". Lasted several minutes, the nausea continued for about 30 minutes and then settled. has anyone else had this reaction from ability?
Avatar f tn For the past couple of months, I've had facial tingling on the left side of my face off and on. Could this be from anxiety? Sometimes it will be there for anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour and then it's just gone. Some days I won't even have any tingling. Could this be from anxiety? I've been on Lexapro for about 2 months and it's seemed to help, but the tingling is still there.
Avatar f tn They helped for a little while, but lexapro made me extremely tired. I came down on both lexapro and wellbutrin about a month and a half ago and have been on prozac for the past week. For the past month i have been having horrible headaches on the left side of my head. For about the past two weeks or so i have had some pain on the right side as well. With these headaches i have a lot of naseau, no vomitting though. I have been gagging for the past 4 months. Its pretty weird.
13762830 tn?1431383399 Hi people. My name is Leila i joined this website today hoping i could get some advice. Avatar n tn the type A migraines with all the neurological side effects. Now I am starting to experience numbness and tingling i my hands and feet and arms and legs. It happens every day at least 5-10 times aa day and may have nothing todo with my migraines, but it is very uncomfortable and frustrating. Just now, it happened in my right hand and when I tried to stretch my thumb out it wouldnt stretch... kind of hard to explain. It felt almost heavy like it was to heavy to lift.
Avatar f tn My last anxiety attack was almost 2 years ago. I had been on Lexapro and quit taking it about 6 months ago. Had Xanax for the immediate help, but have been out of those for about 6 months also. Anyway, to make a long story short, I was at a volleyball game tonight and had a run of skipped heart beats and it caused me to go into panic mode. I always get a tingling sensation up and down my spine when I have an attack and it was there.
Avatar f tn I took Lexapro (10mg) every night for almost 3 years... Tried to stop, had horrible withdrawals symptoms and went back to it. Now, I'm off again, not my choice! I have a horrible insurance, my psichiatrist retired, and I'm on a waiting list for a new doc! October 31st was my last half pill! Of corse, I'm hipper hipochondriac to the limit! I self diagnosed myself with skin cancer, my kids with lymphoma, and for weeks now, I'm having stomach/abdominal discomfort!
Avatar f tn I am currently on 40mg of lexapro and my therapist prescribed 80mg of geodon once a day. I took the geodon one night and the next am I was extremely sedated. I had blurred vision, slurred speech and I felt like my body had lead in it and it was hard to move. I stopped taking it and after a week I still feel spacey and have some tingling in my hands and feet. Could I be having these feeling because I had such a strong reaction to the med? I am afraid these symptoms are permanent.
Avatar f tn Since November I've been feeling like I'm medicated ALL THE TIME. It's like being underwater or in a dream or something. I've also got extreme fatigue, no motivation tingling in my extremities, twinges of pain throughout my body, digestion issues, and constant vision problems. I've been to the hospital twice and my GP more times than I can count. Had a CT scan on my head and my abdomen, two ECG's, and loads of bloodwork and it all comes back normal!
