Common Questions and Answers about Lexapro side effects rash

lexapro

I jsut looked up the side effects of Lexapro for you..I haven't seen rash or canker sores...However, everyone can react differently..You should call the doctor to see if it is possible... maybe you may need a different medication. It said that it can take up to six weeks to start to see the difference.
Hey I'm on Lexapro now and the only side effects I have are feeling tired a lot, some weight gain, and heat rash in the sun. Otherwise, it's helping a lot.
Had sexual side effects and gained some weight but I am not positive is from the Lexapro but I think may be. The Dr gave me Effexor which knocked me out for 3 days, slept 36 hours straight, then Celexa which I broke out in a rash all over my body from. He tried Wellbutrin but that did nothing. I didn't lose weight on it like some people do.
The known, serious side effects of tamoxifen are blood clots, strokes, uterine cancer, and cataracts (see Questions 5–8). Other side effects of tamoxifen are similar to the symptoms of menopause. The most common side effects are hot flashes and vaginal discharge. Some women experience irregular menstrual periods, headaches, fatigue, nausea and/or vomiting, vaginal dryness or itching, irritation of the skin around the vagina, and skin rash.
I didn't even have nervous problems until I took the Lexapro. The doc said stay with it until the side effects went away. The problem is the side effects are so bad that I can't function. The SSRI's make me feel like I am having an LSD bad experience. My sister takes Lexapro and says the side effects are all in my mind. If she ever went through what I have gone through and continue to go through from just two 10 mgs of Lexapro she wouldn't think it was in my mind.
I must admit the pills have helped me sleep but after about two weeks of taking them i have been getting some weird side effects. They include severe mood swings, dry throat, muscle spasms in my body and face, extreme thirst, lower abdominal pain (mainly by the two lymph nodes on each side of my hip) and itchy and red skin on various parts of my body (one part even maifested itself into an actual rash) Sorry for babling but here is my question.
to wash riba rash areas OTC Hydrocortisone (walgreens brand): for riba rash areas Carnation Instant Breakfast: Protien additave due to severe weight loss Multivitamin B Complex Chantix: smoking cessation towards the end of tx. I WORKS!
When I started Savella I was coming off Lexapro so either one could have caused the side effects of dizziness, and getting "spots" in front of my eyes. Also it felt like my food sat in my stomach forever! I was nausous nearly all day while taking it for about the first month. I tried eating a piece of toast first but it was really hard to eat anything till almost the end of the day. It was really hard. I never ended up being able to take the full dose. I am taking 25 mg 2x a day.
Anyway he prescribes me Lexapro which affected me with even MORE anxiety and not being able to sleep. Well I go check out just what Lexapro is and the side effects ( I had never HEARD of Lexapro ). It's an anti-depressant ( selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors SSRI ) prescribed to treat 'major depression'. I don't have major depression. I have 'if you look at me wrong I might kill you'. That's not depression.
I had very bad nausea and diarehea , sore throat, follicitus, night sweats occasionally and the odd rash. My experience is getting better, the physical side effects are waning somewhat after 8 weeks, but the last 8 weeks were tough.
I am taking 450 mg Wellbutrin with 40 mg. Lexapro and 10 mg. Abilify and I don't seem to have any particular side effects from the combination. I also take Zonegran, an anti-seizure drug that is used to treat neuropathic pain. My doctor gave me Xanax to take as needed, knowing the mixture that I already had. There doesn't seem to be a problem with that, either.
Then went to Lamictal as a mood stabilizer - things went from bad to worse with side effects - think I develped the rash on Sunday am so I just completely stopped it 75mg (Dr. agreed with me on that one). But the Lamical helped to lift the depression, helped my social skills and made me very assertive. So after getting straightened out - I may try it again but even more slowly. I really did a number on my memory and confusion. Anyone else with experience with Lamictal?
So the entire process will take close to 3 months but I am in no rush and would rather minimize any side effects from the ramping down process. I will chronicle my progress (like I did on this site when I first went on the drug and was ramping up last year) for anyone who is interested or perhaps thinking about doing the same thing.
So what if it was in the literature. There are many other side effects like nausea, rash, bowel problems, anemai, etc. That does not mean you ignore them. I think you need to be persistent and assertive and outright tell him you need something, either a change of meds or an addition. If he cannot figure it out, then he needs to refer you to a psychiatrist who can figure out a regimen that works, or at least helps. I think I have a pretty good doctor and case manager.
don't believe that about Lexapro and side effects. That's just pharmaceutical company hype. I read on one website about meds that Lexapro is tolerated pretty well by most, but when it isn't it's really really bad. I'm on Lexapro, and it's pretty easy on me, but then, it doesn't work, either, so it's probably not being metabolized that well. Paxil worked better, but with tons of side effects, and then when I quit it killed me dead. Who knows about these things?
She was like a guinea pig and now, 8 years after, she is living with side effects that have never gone : hypotension (around 8), fainding every day, unbearable headaches, kidney pyelonephritis every months, and an exhausting fatigue that keep her in her bed sometimes several days, where she can hardly eat alone. Before that, she was so full of life, making car races, flying planes, being a model for photographes, and photographer herself.
Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills? What are the side effects? What are the benefits? Has FDA approved? Where i can search more about Yaz? Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy? Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills. is that true?
Hi, lexapro can cause allergic reactions like itchy skin rashes or hives. Other common side effects can include drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, nausea, weight changes, and decreased sex drive. Discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.
My doc gave me samples of Lexapro and I took 10 mg for two days before the nasty side effects occured - extreme sleepiness, I felt drowsy, disoriented, sick to my stomach, and had a skin rash on my face. I was also taking Klonopin 1mg/day and I wonder if those two drugs just potentiated their effects and that's what happened. He's a GP and I don't think he knows that much about treating panic disorder with depression brought on by chronic pain.
(not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we women as far as side effects go. I have read postings about women who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
Is there anything that can be done to reverse the effects of accutane. I have had side effects from the drug since I took it in 1998. Every doctor I've described my symptoms to has dismissed accutane as the cause. They say that all the pain and problems that I have are from depression. I feel like being in pain everyday has caused me to be depressed.
The depressing thing was that I didn't experience any side effects other than that and it was working so I'm really upset that I have to try something else. The SSRI's cause horrible sexual side effects for me but I don't think there are any other meds to take.
I don't know if anyone else feels this way. I'm getting ready to go on treatment and have read about all the side effects. I'm willing to take the risk. The last thing I need to read is someone saying that treatment is WRONG and people shouldn't do it. Writing to vent about your horrible experiences is one thing; Telling others NOT to do treatment is wrong. There are plenty of people out there right now who are riding the fence and trying to build up enough courage to do treatment as it is.
So, with the beta blockers - do you still have the rash at all, or is it completely gone?? I have a Drs. Appt in July....

MY QUESTION IS - Why is it DANGEROUS to stop the Effexor and experience these side effects. I know it is MISERABLE, but why DANGEROUS??? What should I be on the look-out for?
Try to detox first, but remember if you never detoxed before you may have few side effects. These side effects are common, because they are expelling the toxins and waste out of your body. You must drink plenty of water also when you are detoxing. Drinking lemon peel slices in water is also a good cleanser. There was an item told to me by a friend that I purchased on line back then, it was called the itch zapper. It may sound funny, but it works.

I am switching from luvox 200mg to lexapro 20mg. The luvox caused weight gain, fatigue, sexual side effects. Wellbutrin I have heard makes OCD worse because it raises levels of dopamine.
