Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. also I was on levaquin for 5 weeks followed by doxycycline for 2 right before I started having these issues to get rid of a stubborn mycoplasma pnuemonia infection in my lungs. could I have an infection due to some wierd resistent bacteria and that's why the antibiotics i'm taking now aren't working?

I had no pain or burning during urination. However, I tested positive for a urinary tract infection and began on pyridium and bactrim. My symptoms did not improve so I began on Levaquin for 10 days. Since then I have had an ultrasound of my kidneys, ovaries, and bladder, and everything was normal. My labwork was also normal. My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either.

Ive had a urinary tract infection for going on 6 weeks now. Ive been treated over and over and nothing seems to be getting rid of it. Hello, From the symptoms and the investigations already done, urinary tract infection and urethritis needs to be ruled out. I would suggest a 24 hrs urine test and a swab culture of the discharge to confirm the diagnosis. Unfortunately treatment is diagnosis specific and these investigations are needed for diagnosis. Till then drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice because if it is simple UTI, then adequate amount of fluids will flush out the infection.

Im 90% sure that I have a urinary tract infection but I have additional symptoms that I dont usually have. UTIs are exactly what their name describes. and infection in your urinary tract. its not in your vagina, however, ive always been told not to have sex while you have one because sex could be the cause of it. and its best to make sure its all better before introducing even more bacteria. Ive never heard of it being contagious, and dont think that it is, but ask your doctor. and ive also never had a cream to use, so im not sure what thats for.

You may not even have to bring your dog in for an exam if the urine is positive for a simple urinary tract infection (an infection without crystals). The vet can simply give appropriate antibiotics. If your dog has crystals in his urine, the crystals would need to be identified and treatment instituted. I’m 20 years old. I have a urinary tract infection(coliform). A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. t have a urinary tract infection. Some bacteria would be resistant or not treatable with those antibiotics. If these all come up negative I would see the urologist. Sometimes you can just have prostatitis or something not related to the sex.

If you have been taking levaquin, do not have a urine chlamydia test. Levaquin cures chlamydia and would make the test negative, even if you were infected recently. At this point, there is no point in having any more chlamydia testing at all.

A bladder infection and urinary tract infection (UTI) are the same thing. Given the nature of your exposure and the treatment you received, it is not possible your partner's possible UTI is really an STD from the exposure you describe.
