Avatar n tn But she had to test the laser , so she could se how my skin would act when lasered. She tested it 3 times (2010-2011). In july 2011 i noticed a big difference on the place where she tested it 3 times. So i contacted my dermatologist , it looked good.Untill my dad heared the treatment cost...But my dermatologist had a solution , she told us to go to the university Hospital.
Avatar m tn I am really surprised that a dermatologist said laser treatment would damage your skin as it was a skin specialist (who also deals with skin cancer) that recommended I have a laser treatment course. At the same time as dealing with the rosacea it also dealt with a lot of the sun damage I already had due to my fair celtic skin.
Avatar f tn I did have it done, about 5 treatments but discontinued because i saw little result and the cost was expensive.
Avatar f tn can laser surgery help remove those scars? And if so, how soon can I start laser skin treatment? I have very pale white skin and would like the scars to be removed without my skin pigmentation changing. Do you also know how much they usually cost? Thank you so much.
Avatar n tn ll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser. Is all of this accurate? I did finish accutane about 3 months ago which cleared up my acne but all of this redness is just terrible and looks like i still have cystic acne. Now im just totally depressed about this if its true. Is this true that i'll have to look like this for the rest of my life? I thought redness fades with time? does it not?
Avatar n tn If so, there are a number of treatments available. One very popular remedy has been laser skin resurfacing which helps to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, scars, lines and hyper pigmentation surrounding the eyes and mouth. It can also be used to treat areas on the cheeks. Laser resurfacing does not cause as much discomfort, bruising, scaring or bleeding compared to other cosmetic surgery procedures.
Avatar f tn Check into microdermabrasion or laser therapy. I'm sure there are others, but this is all I remember off the top of my head. Make an appt. with a dermatologist and they'll let you know what the best treatment would be and how much they cost. Good luck!
Avatar n tn t actually cut the affected skin out and results in very minmal scarring is the pulse laser. Treatment seems to result in almost instant relief from itching and 12 months later the problem has not reoccured. It is carried out under local anaesthetic in small areas at a time and he has had little or no discomfort afterwards. Definitely worth doing as the itching used to drive my son totally nuts!
Avatar n tn Application of vitamin E on the scars helps and it should go away in a few days to months. If it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, photodermabrasion or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn for a long time i thought i had really stubborn eczema but until today i went to a dermatologist and i found out that it was ilven (inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal naevus) i want to know more about treatments for ilven. i herd about CO2 laser treatment and apparently it worked well to reduce itching...but is this long term? also about surgery where removing parts of the skin.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 23 years old and have had normal eye exams for a long time. However, my doctor dilated my pupils at my latest exam and she discovered a retinal hole in my left eye. She mentioned that I need laser treatment done to seal this hole. I don't have any sort of insurance. The hospital she referred me has given me a quote of $250+ just for the consultation. Around how much can this actual treatment cost me without insurance? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am quite wealthy so money is not a problem.I have been reading about cryosurgery and laser surgery.Would any of that help to lighten my skin by a shade or two.Any suggestions or comments are highly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have a 40 year old friend with similar coloring (pretty fair complexion and curly, dark thick hair). She had one laser hair removal treatment at the same spa which has resulted in the same defined dark discoloration on the upper lip after sun exposure. I have read if the incorrect setting or laser type is used for a patient's skin tone and hair type it can cause hyperpigmentation. I think this is supposed to be a temporary side effect; not long lasting.
Avatar n tn I have used TCA, glycolic peels, hydroquinone, tretioin, kojic, bit nothing has reduced it. Recently i heard that yag laser can be used for depigmenting skin by destroying melanin cells itself, and in a way cause hypopigmentation in these regions. Can I do this. Please advice the type of laser, etc.
Avatar m tn t find the post, so here goes again. A couple of years ago I noticed warts on my anus, I thought they were skin tags so I did nothing about it. Eventually I had them checked, they were warts and I had them removed and was put on Aldara. I used what my dermatologist gave me but I had no insurance so I never actually filled the prescription. The warts came back months later.
Avatar f tn A technique that involves using a beam of high-energy light to cut away the upper surface of the skin. The procedure is very precise, although the laser focus can be adjusted to resurface larger areas. It also stimulates both blood supply and collagen production - the support network for skin tissue. Just be aware that it can take about 10 months for collagen to regenerate, so don't expect to see the finished results until then.
Avatar n tn It has a lot of information on PWSs and treatment options for it, along with a list of doctors who are familiar with treatment for it. Insurance should cover much of the cost, but that has to be discussed with the doctor.
Avatar f tn The clinic that I plan to go to has the newer IOLs such as the Tecnis multifocals as well as surgeons offering to bring in the Symfony before next month. However, the clinic policy is that laser-assisted cataract surgery is mandatory with premium lenses and it isn't optional to have it done via the standard method. They only say "they want to provide the most accurate and best treatment possible". The cost ranges from $1495.00 per eye to $3295.
Avatar f tn Hello, I agree with your dermatologist that q switched and fractional laser treatment is one of the best treatment methods for scar reduction and hyperpigmented skin. Multiple sittings are needed and some redness, erythema and burning are expected after the treatment. I suggest you to discuss this procedure in detail with your dermatologist and then go for this procedure.
