17. 2 Years ago I had left knee surgery. The pain though is in my right foot. It sort of pulls and I can feel the pain when I lay my outside side of the foot on the floor. Last week I took a 4-day break off skating and the pain went away. I have skated for 3 days now and the pain is back. It's in the area of where the middle-foot bone(sp?) goes up to the ancle. I am under the impression that it's a little swollen and the area definitely feels harder than on my left foot.

I'm an 19 year old male and since the last week of August, I've had a sharp pain in my knee. It's occurs in my left knee, on the inside. It's very near to the platella, but I don't know if it's the tibia or the fibula. It's the bone that kind of slightly juts out. Anyways, it hurts to bend the knee and walking up and down stairs causes slight pain as well. Any insight on the problem is appreciated. Thanks for your time!
When I landed, i felt a sharp pain in the middle of my left knee. I did not feel any popping, just a very sharp pain right behidn the patella. I didn't think anything of it that day, and it never bruised or swelled. I laid off the knee for the remainder of the week, but when i started lifting the next week, anything that put stress on the knee hurt. Squats, Legpress, Deadlifts, they all hurt right at the middle of the knee behind the patella.
But, I got permanent swelling from last 3 weeks and pain also. Pain is in my lower and upper part of knee. I tried cooling and hot cycle belt of wrap but still pain exists. This all started from nov 07. I never had injury with my knees. Completed my blood test and routine check up in January 08 but everything is normal. I never had consultation with my knees.
I'm a female, age 24 and I have been having swelling in my feet and ankles for the past 11 years. I live in Jamaica, I've been to many doctors both here and US about the issue. When I was about 12 or so I fell and fractured my right knee, I did physiotherapy but ever since my right ankle swells and hurts way more than my left foot. From time to time my left knee cap slips out and hurts but slips back in almost instantaneously after.

My knee and lower leg have been in pain for a few months now. I believe the pain is from jogging and putting too much pressure on my leg in general. It hurts mostly when I walk or put pressure on it. Resting my leg and taking naproxen and ibprofen to reduce inflammation does not seem to be healing it. Is it possible that this injury will require surgery? What should I do?
-) The old age pain was fixed by getting a new hip. The MS pain is not so easy to fix.
I don't know whether this is good news or bad, but MS pain doesn't jump around. The nature of MS is that it attacks individual locations in the central nervous system, rather than systemically attacking the entire central nervous system. As such, the neuropathic pain caused by MS tends to be related to the specific nerve pathway that controls its pain center.
In my case it's my left foot.
Additionally, if I stand for too long, my knee is extremely sore and stiff. The worst pain is that which wakes my in the middle of the night at least 1-2 times per week. I will be sleeping on my side and wake with excruciating pain, as if an ice pick is driving through the side of my knee (interior side) and into the joint. I cannot straighten or bend my knee at this point without using my hands to manually move my leg. I am taking Aleve to no avail.
Thank you Doctors for your valuable inputs. My pain in the knee is manageable and just inconvenience while walking . I am still in my late 30's and no other complaints so far. I am keen to follow non surgical ways but Doctor here told me that if I delay in surgery,there is a huge risk of ortheritis.

I am 43 years old. I had knee surgery for a torn meniscus in 2003. Last year on Thanksgiving Day I stepped off my porch and hurt my knee again. After having a mri my dr said he couldnt see anything but the pain kept getting worse and decided to scope my knee. He discovered that I had no cartlige and it was completely eaten up with arthritis among other things. I was told I needed a knee replacement but didnt want to do it at my age.
I had a meniscus injury almost 2years ago a tear in left knee due to gym exercise while doing thighs exercise and from that time I was exercising my legs and their was no more pain after nearly 8 month , just yesterday I did the same movement once again and I hearted a pop in the same knee and a little pain with a bending movement in the same place after examining it by my self by pressing on the spot is it possible that the tear had happened once again ...
My daughter, almost 4, has been complaining of left knee pain for a year and a half. First it was i the middle of the night. She would wake up hysterical. Then she started to complain during the day. We figured it was growing pains at first and then consulted with a pediatric rheumatologist. She ruled out systemic arthritis but did say she was reacting to her exam of her left knee and to keep an eye on it.
Aqua therapy without pain. But sometimes running in pool would cause pain in the patella. Strength exercises would cause some pain in patella. But not as bad as running. Running would always make it hurt. In that inner/middle part of patella.
On Dec 1 ( 5 1/2 months post surgery) He Started doing more intense strength training on his legs to improve the quad muscles. His quads are getting much stronger. His right leg is almost the size of his left.
t use my thumb and there sometimes is some nerve pain going to my middle and ring finger. We do not have insurance since my husband lost his job...but he also says that the ER wouldn't be able to do anything because of where he believes the fracture is. It is painful and if I keep my hand down, it will start to pound. What should I do?
I get a sharp pain in my left knee when jumping hard. I can run and sprint without pain. I can even jump 10 to 12 inches without noticing any pain. But when I do a two legged jump to go up for a dunk, I immediately get pain around the middle of my left knee. It then hurts to jump and there is pain when doing even a minor squat. Eventually within about an hour.
Feeling the calf when this pain happens, i cannot feel the muscles tensing or contracting. The best way i can describe the pain is almost like a funny bone pain, but in my calf. The spasms (or whatever they are) are so intense, i cry out in pain.
I tried heat and ice and both had no effect. It doesn't matter what position I am in. I did not injure myself recently either.
I'm not sure if this is something serious or if it will probably go away.
My mother is 58 years of age. She has pain in her left knee for almost last one year and this leg is swollen for same period. We consulted various doctors (including ortho.) but there is no improvement. X-ray was done and she has been treated by doctors for crack in skin and infection, but there is no improvement. She can not put her full weight on right leg and can not move on stairs.
There is small history of one injury in her legs.
