If it's getting worse, I would go back and have them check for a dry socket. Usually the pain from an extraction will get better over time. If it all of a sudden gets worse, we always tell patients they may have a dry socket which is most common when lower wisdom teeth are extracted. It may feel like the upper jaw but this may be referred pain. I would have it checked out because they can pack some medicine in there to help it feel better.
Trismus is a common complication of lower wisdom tooth or molar extraction. If appropriate antibiotics is administered, it tends to resolove within 72 hours.

It's not neuralgia. Is the pain coming from the upper or lower and if lower, which side was the tooth pulled, and on which side do you sleep mostly?
So Monday I had a right lower molar extracted. Tuesday pain wasn't to bad but since about Wed afternoon, it is now Sat AM I have been in agony. My jaw and teeth abound the area upper and lower ach its the worst when I wake up. Last night the pain so bad I was in tears, I don't believe its dry socket cause the dentist said cold and air would hurt it which it doesn't. But the tooth was hollow so it broke when they pulled it.
I did wisdom tooth extraction surgery for lower left tooth , from second day to forth day l had swelling , the swelling now is recovered , but now( sixth day ) l totice a yellow discoloration on my face at left lower part of my jaw also l feel pain when l make pressure on it , can anyone help me and tell me any idea for treat this condition ? i am 36 yrs old male.5 yrs ago i had dental pain in my lower jaw,and dental surgeon diagnosed as wisdom tooth.doctor advised me for tooth extraction but i didn,t follow his advice.all these yrs i didn,t feel any complication.since one yr i can,t my mouth properly,sometimes i have severe pain.i cant take any food.for your sugesstion.
I would definitely let your dentist know about that because usually pain from an extraction is more of a throbbing or dull ache rather than a pins and needles type of pain. When was the extraction done?
The impact of it was really bad, the pain radiate to my jaw and face. The pain last for seconds only, I looked in the mirror to see any damage in my wisdom tooth, suddenly the tooth cracked. I ignore it, because the pain subsided, no swollen jaw and face no tooth ache at all. But after two days I started to feel sick, severe dizziness as if something is eating my energy inside my body, i feel pressure at the back of my head.
I have never had such pain before after a tooth extraction. Why are my gum lines feeling sore. It is no where near the tooth extraction?
in the meantime while you wait for your appointment, take a rag and soak it in hot water and wrap it around your jaw all the way up towards your ears. don't force your mouth open, but sort of massage the area with the hot rag until you feel it loosen up a bit. keep doing this for at least 10 or so minutes at a time. it sounds like your tmj and could have something to do with getting the teeth extracted or you could be grinding your teeth.
My jaw is currently hurting right below the lower left wisdom tooth. Does this mean the infection has returned from the first dose of amoxicillin and if so, am I still ok to wait until a week from tomorrow to have the tooth extracted? The reason I have to wait is because the oral surgeon is only in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and I had important projects I have to get done at work before taking days off.

My lower teeth (all of them) are throbbing, under my chin, my jaw and teeth (upper and lower) and my ear and cheek are still aching deeply and, at times the pain is like electric shocks.
I am now 3 weeks post extraction and even though the pain has subsided I'm still having difficulty talking, eating and drinking due to the pain. I'm really getting fed up now.

So lets say the tooth which is to be removed from lower arch. The tooth from the upper arch, directly opposite the removed tooth will try and occupy the space underneath.
All of this may lead to incorrect bite, which may lead to even more problems with TMJ you are already having issues with.
I would call the office and ask the prices on RCT vs extraction (+ possibly a bridge or implant cost). I would also look into the second opinion.
hi , thx for the response,actually i have got all his tests done Hb is 10.5 g, bld sugar is normal, no sharp teeth,no teeth extraction on left lower jaw, dental hygiene is good. no addictions or spicey food.
Did this happen to me because of something the dentist did during the extraction,.. cause its been there, since that day? (cause he yanked on the jaw too hard, .. whilst pulling my tooth)

just got my tooth extract 5days ago. my lower right tooth. today I got headache. feel like nerves are pulling. sinus congestion took place after I have taken the gum antibiotic so I have stopped taking any anti swelling or antibiotic medicine. today is the 5th day of extraction I am still having sinus congestion. headaches.. pain over my eyes.
Then about 6 weeks post extraction I ended up in the er at a local hospital with lower back pain , my pelvis was dislocated from an inflamation of my sacroilliac joint , my primary care doctor questioned if this was related in fact . I also suddenly developed episodes of raynauds . I have had three incidents of the raynauds since the extraction. The last one was recently and was the nite before the sore erupted in my mouth .
I felt okay after some time but when my wisdom tooth started growing, the gum was dark red(the gum above the wisdom tooth) and i noticed somekind of boil in the place of extraction,extra bump(swollen lymph) in between my right cheek and jaw, almost where the tooth was extracted and then i noticed other two growing under my chin(one sub-mandibular and the other one, on the upper right side of my throat). I went to many dentists and they said there must have been a tooth broken in the gum.
I have to get a tooth extracted from the lower right just behind the canine, and it has a complicated history. Four years ago it got badly infected and my face blew up like a balloon. It took a loooong time to heal after the root canal treatment and retreatment, and has since not caused any pain. Recently, it was found to be (still painlessly) reinfected along with the surrounding jaw, and the endo can't save it.
