Common Questions and Answers about Itchy legs shower

itchy

Why everytime I take a shower my legs itch uncontrollably? I've tried just about everything, but nothing seems to work. The first time it happened, I had been outside in very cold temperatures for about 15 minutes.
Some pregnant women develops excema which makes you super itchy. I use a body lotion on myself after every shower, try a Shea butter based lotion. I use a body butter lotion myself and it helps with the itching a lot.
Hi I'm so glad to hear others suffer with the itchy legs; no rash problem. I've suffered from this for 20+ years and think I've solved the problem for me. My lower legs tend to itch after a morning shower (or if water even touches my legs!). This is an uncontrollable itch that lasts for about 20-30 minutes. My doctor could not suggest any reason for it. I have found that aerobic exercising first thing in the morning for about 20-30 minutes (I jog), then shower with no problems.
It took about three weeks of doing this for the itchiness to completely go away but I'm still exfoliating my legs twice a week and my legs are no longer itchy and are extra smoothe! I can't find the original post of the person who recommended this to thank them but they saved my sanity! NO longer itching!
i went thru a lot of posts here, n i can c dat a LOT of ppl get an itch after shower/swimming. well i too get extra itchy after a shower, but my legs itch otherwise also, for no rhyme or reason. although i havent tried any of the creams n lotions, i have been using herbal soaps for like my entire life, but this problem started just a month back. being a dietitian, i have already tried an elimination diet to check for food allergy, but NOPE. this thing isnt an allergy.
today i took a shower and then put aveeno moistrizer on my legs. for the past 20 minutes they were itchy. this has happened to me before but never as badly, now i sat in a cold bathtub for an hour but it still itches. any ideas?
I used ice packs in the beginning, and then I started a cold water rinse on my lower legs with a hand held shower after my normal shower. After drying I applied the Sarna Creme. The itching has stopped. I'm not sure if is the cold water or the Sarna Cream, or a combination of the two. I use the cold water rinse after every shower now because I don't want to risk having the itcy legs return.
My partner is 26, and very often he has fits of really painfully itchy legs, for no reason. sometimes he would take trousers off and it would start, sometimes had shower, sometimes sleeping in the bed. We have tried all possible methods, doctorates can not see any dermatological cause for that itch. Could you please help us and advise what can we do to stop itching at list temporarily. I would be very grateful for help. He is in pain and doctors cant help.
I wasn't getting the soap off my legs. Between more vigilant in the shower about rinsing my legs and using Keri lotion, the problem went away.
I have had itchy legs for YEARS, not all over, just my legs. I've tried changing soaps, detergent, lotion, everything. I have been to several doctors and no one knows what it is. I have heard that it could be a gluten allergy? so i have to try that. The itching is the most annoying thing ever...i often cause myself to bleed because of it. Let me know if you find out anything.
Dr. Rockoff, I have had itchy legs for many years, even before my hysterectomy in 2003. Sometimes sweating starts it, sometimes a hot shower even if I don't shave, sometimes pain medication starts it off. But it feels like I have rubbed my legs with the fiberglass insulation in my attic. It starts off with one little spot, then spreads to both my upper and lower legs. I have to put on pants to make it calm down.
I have tried the moisturizers, I'ved checked myself for allergies, I've kept a journal, I've done everything I can to figure out what goes wrong with me but it's still an enigma. My legs itch - right after I shower, no matter whether the water was hot or cold, soft or not. They itch so bad that I almost go insane. This happens to me every day during the Fall and Winter and a little less often the rest of the year.
Im glad Im not the only one with "itchy" legs. I have had "itchy" legs for years. I have been told it was all in my head. And have tired almost everything for dry itchy skin. Its mostly my lower legs, the front and side. Sometimes its my upper leg. When they itch, it feels like they are itchy from the bones. I end up itching them so much that I tear my legs open, and usually get a faint scar. They seem dry usually, but are as smooth and soft as my hands are.
My legs have been itchy every day since i was born. im 21 and i have always had itchy legs. when i was younger my family would all scream at me as once i started i couldnt seem to stop. the itching gets so bad that it annoys you and fustrates you and it becomes painfull. My dad used to smack my legs where it was itching and it used to help but it didnt last too long only for about 5-10 mins and i would be scratching again.
I have yet to take the drug but I am going to let you know if it also helps with the itchy legs. I really dont think the itchy legs are caused by histamines. I think the problem is Eosinophil mediated. It makes sense that inhibiting leukotriene's might solve both problems. Stay tuned I will give an update soon This discussion is related to Itchy legs, no sign of rash or irritation.
I'll be fine and working, and all of a sudden it's like a break out of itching and i itch all over my legs. and it's just the legs. I havent broke out in any red bumps and there is no signs of irritation. I'm confused on this one. Is this yet another miserable symptom of prememopause or should I be concerned about something else?
I gotta keep my bed fixed and change beding set all the times.
Does anybody else get itchy legs after shaving? What do you do to relieve the itchiness?
Please help me!! I am suffering very badly from itchy legs.. I have NO RASH!! It usually triggered from when i take a shower, and when i get out its like the sky caves in..my legs itch soooo bad! I have to put bags of frozen foods all over them to numb them so i don't scratch the heck out of them! However, it has been gettgin worse, they have been itching more and more and without needing a shower to trigger it.. Sometimes its when i lay down to go to bed, or when i wake up in the morning.
org/posts/Dermatology/I-found-a-cure-for-my-itchy-legs/show/997405 I've now tried scrubbing with a shower schrunchie / loofa sponge (with soap), not too hard, but aggressively.. and then after showering, I dried my legs quite aggressively with my towel.. and there was no itching at all! This is huge progress for me, and will let you all know if it works! I recommend trying this.. Trevor Right..
It is sometimes so bad that I just want to cry, and when I was younger I did cry. It is the worst after I shave my legs, but it also happens after a shower without shaving, sometimes when I go out in the sun, sometimes when the air is cold/cool (including air conditioning), sometimes after I go swimming in a pool or the ocean. It seemed to go away for a long period of time, but then it started again. It is sporadic and I cannot figure out the cause.
after i come out of the shower my legs and arms (mainly legs) start to itch. it doesnt seem like much but they itch so much they nearly hurt and i find myself locking my self in my room and crying until it goes away. it can last up to an hour and ive asked my mum if she can take me to the doctors, but shes convinced its an allergy and wont. i have tried every soap or shampoo there is on the market and it wont make a difference... im starting to think im allergic to water!!!
