Ibuprofen for endometriosis

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen for endometriosis

ibuprofen

Avatar n tn my stomach had a hole in it from all the ibuprofen/vicodin/ponstel I had taken.) I finally had the surgery for it and they removed a lot of endometriosis. Afterward I went on birth control (even though I didn't want to) and I literally had no pain. It's been a year since then and I've had to switch my method of birth control due to adenomyosis (endo of the uterus muscle) from the pill to the shot, and the shot has brought me much more relief (though not for everyone).
Avatar f tn I agree! I used birth control for over a year and it was a god send for the first 5 months, then it's like everything came back worse, especially the pain. I then had laprascopy and during it they also removed a cyst on my fallopian tube and also at the same time had a hysteroscopy because they found a polyp in the middle of my uterus. I've been TTC for going on 7 yrs now. I had my surgery this year, June 25th to be exact. Within 2 months after surgery I was back to hurting again.
Avatar f tn A month ago I saw a nurse practitioner at my gyno's office because I have been having severe pain in my pelvic and uterus region. The closer to my period the worse the pain, an the pain sticks around for three weeks a month. I got an ultrasound to check for cysts as that's what the nurse prac. thought it was. It wasn't so I went and saw my actual gyno and she prescribed 800mg ibuprofen and a new 3 month birth control and mentioned it could possibly be endometriosis.
Avatar f tn No way of laying or moving helped. And I had already taken ibuprofen before the sever pain kicked in, and it did absolutely nothing for it. The severe pain subsided after forcing myself to nap with unconventional methods. But I woke up with I guess I'd call it bloating, but bloating so bad it hurt to laugh, cough, move, and pee. And still pain, dull stabbing here and there.
7791326 tn?1396488062 I was just wondering if anyone here has endometriosis and is pregnant? Or if they know anyone who has endometriosis and has been pregnant? More specifically was pregnant and had bleeding while pregnant? I am just wondering if this bleeding that I have been having has any relation to endometriosis. I tried doing some searching online but it didn't seem like there was a lot of information on it. Mostly just how hard it is to get pregnant when you have endometriosis. Thanks ladies.
Avatar m tn They believe this is from years of taking ibuprofen for pelvic pain! I was put on a medication called Budesonide for a few months that has solved most of my GI symptoms. I have 4 children. The first 3 I conceived very quickly and easily. Then I waited 6 years to have my 4th. It took me almost 2 years to get pregnant, and I had a blighted ovum miscarriage with that pregnancy. It then took me another 8 months to get pregnant with my son. He is now 2, and I breastfed him for almost 2 years.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm looking for suggestions on medication. Nothing seems to work for me; Tylenol, Advil, aleve, ibuprofen. I've tried them all and nothing! Any suggestions will help, as long as it's over the counter.
Avatar f tn I was told the only way to know for sure one has endometriosis is to do a laparoscopy. But what symptoms would lead one to think maybe endometriosis is a problem? I do have cramps (ibuprofen takes them away) and my periods aren't heavy, but one of my REs (I've had a few since) suggested maybe I do have it. My next RE said he didn't think I did and that it doesn't matter anyway if I'm doing IVF. I've had multiple chemical pregnancies, though.
Avatar f tn My last 4 cycles were for example 19 days, 26 days, 31 days and then my last current one was 40 days long. I sometimes find that the longer my cycle is, the worse my cramps will be on my next period. I have had one ultrasound done at age 18 but the doctor did not find anything suspicious. They didn’t diagnose the reason for my heavy period or extreme cramps but just prescribed me the pill qlaira which I took for about a year and a half.
2055843 tn?1332427915 (as my doctor called it) a few times in my life, but I do not have endometriosis. A low dose estrogen pill was really helpful for me. I hope you find relief soon!
1262699 tn?1277854959 Hi I was on the birth control for a year following surgery for very mild Endometriosis. My doctor put me on the pill for a whole year continually so i wouldn't have my period. i finished my pills 5 days before my next appointment. for those 5 days i started experiencing premenstrual cramps. when i went to my doc she put me back on the birth control and i have started taking them for the past 4 days but the cramps are still there.
Avatar f tn vicoprofen works great for me, the combo of codene and ibuprofen for inflammation seems to be the trick
Avatar f tn Then yesterday I got this overwhelming sharp pain that made it nearly impossible for me to move for a couple of hours. Even after I could move around I was still in pain that was moderate (with occasional severe pains) even after taking a lot of ibuprofen. This pain is still going on today! I am able to move around, but I am very uncomfortable and it's difficult to urinate.
Avatar f tn Hey everyone, I'm looking for advice. Growing up I had horrible periods where I would have no regular schedule, intense bleeding and the most sever pain I have ever felt. After trying out countless BC pills and a laprascopy, I was diagnosed with POS and Endometriosis. The pain was nonstop and with only being told to take Ibuprofen or Tylenol I could not take it. I was put on the Depo shot around age 17. The only side effect I have seen is weight gain (and a ton of it).
Avatar n tn After getting out of the hospital, I stayed home from work for 1 week, and then returned. I was taking the Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen every 4 hours at first, then tapered off as the pain lessened. Then 2 days ago, the pain started to increase. So it's been 13 days since I was admitted. Last night it woke me up and the medication isn't controlling it. I don't know why the pain is suddenly increasing, and I don't know why they are leaving this mass inside me!
Avatar f tn Thank you all for the advice and concern! In the past I have had a breast lump removed, a LEEP because of abnormal paps and I think that the reason my gyno thought of endometriosis is because it runs in the family and everything else that has been wrong with me my mother had at my age. I had an ultrasound in 2007 because there was some pain in my abdomen following my LEEP but the doctor said everything looked good.
Avatar f tn First I must tell you I know nothing about endometriosis but I when I read in the beginning about you thinking it might be your appendix but all test results said no it reminded my of my son. We for about 6yrs he would have high fevers pains and sometimes he would be nauseous and sometimes he would through up. In 2008 he was 2 he wasn't feeling well tummy pains could tell where he was only 2 his fever spiked from 101.2 (gave him Tylenol) to 104.
Avatar f tn It sounds like it is very possible that you do have it. If you let me know where you live I can give you some names of reputable Endo surgeons.
Avatar f tn I think it is entirely possible that you have endometriosis or maybe pelvic adhesions (scar tissue) causing your symptoms. The only way to find out for sure is laparoscopy which is a minor surgery. (Endometriosis and scar tissue don't show up on ultrasound unfortunately). So I would first ask my patient if the problem is frequent enough and painful enough to consider surgery, and if she said yes--I'd take a look in there.
1810335 tn?1318384373 ( I have been taking aspirin and Ibuprofen to try to get rid of the pain. Is this a Migraine or just a really bad head ache, any tips on help to me it go away? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am 5 days post lap and hyster surgery to see if i had endometriosis or anything else to be the cause of constant abnornal bleeding between my periods and extreme pain and pain during sex. After the surgery i had found what to relief me with some answers let me down that they didnt find anything severe and would go over more during post op app.
1736894 tn?1310599736 My doctor has prescribed ibuprofen and if taken properly it helps.
Avatar m tn I really feel for you because there is no cure for endometriosis. The symptoms can continue after hysterectomy and ovary removal although some women do get temporary or permanent relief. Hoping you get some relief soon!
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you to do a pregnancy test to rule out that as cause for the pain. If you are not pregnant. you could take medications such as Ibuprofen or Aleve to help with the pain. If you continue to have bad pain, you may wish to consider a laparoscopy to determine whether or not you might have endometriosis. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hello, I belong to another forum here, and I found this one...I have had endometriosis since age 25 (when I got diagnosed, but it was a long road to get there). I have had the Lupron Depot treatment 3 times, a laparoscopy to remove cysts, and after all of it, I got pregnant 2 years and 9 months ago (my son is 2) and in the beginning I still had severe pelvic cramping and pain and back pain, pain lasted the entire pregnancy.
