ibuprofen and naprosyn

I am doubting this is any heart-related problem, but GI upset secondary to the Naprosyn. Perhaps you can try another NSAID, i.e. Ibuprofen. Are you taking the Naprosyn with food and water?

I am using naproxan for chronic pain. Naproxan and Naprosyn are in the same class of nsaid's and actually when dispensed in generic may be the same drug. I have had great sucess with the naproxan. I wouldn't ever give it a chance when I was getting narcotic painkiller and when I got clean and had no choice but to try it and guess what it works great for me. I have to take at least one a day to keep the pain away and as long as I take it with food I have no stomach problems.

For me, ibuprofen did not help, nor did acetaminophen, aspirin, or naprosyn (no I did not try them out at once) Immodium is a must for sure, as worried878 indicates...and I recommend a product called Emetrol if you experience nausea. I did, and the Emetrol helped me.

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Have you tried taking any anti-inflammatories-e.g. Ibuprofen(Motrin) or Aleve(Naprosyn,Naproxen) - or any Tylenol? Parents should be notified before you take anything in case there are any allergies to those OTC's.

I don't think I would be thinking of taking a pill if the pain would subside some. Last night I took 2 xtra strength Tylenol's and 2 ibuprofen for back and hip pain. Will this get better? I was up all night with the pain. I can take the depression but the pain is kicking my *ss.

A friend suggested I try using progesterone cream ( natural Yam) and I immediately felt relief of my joint pain. Is joint pain an actual symptom of menopause? Is progesterone cream safe to use? The comfort I gain from using the cream seems to wear off toward the end of the day. Can I use it twice a day?

Hello Jack, This is a very good question. There are many medications that are ototoxic to our ears causing hearing loss and tinnitus, some have permanent effects while others have side effects only while taking the medication. On your particular list, Asprin stands out the most. Asprin does cause hearing los & tinnitus as do most of the NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs).

The most recent on was to the new acia berry extract! How ridiculous is that?? I also have the same reaction to naprosyn, but I can take naproxen sodium (Aleve) just fine. I am menopausal, but when I was having menstrual cycles, I sometimes would break out at certain times during the month when hormonal levels would change. Any idea what chemical or hormone might cause my reactions?

I was given a list of drugs to review and stop taking any that I may be on for 10 days before procedure. I am having trouble determining whether my migraine medication, Imitrex, is one them. Sumitriptan and naproxen are not on the list, but since this drug narrows blood vessels, I wonder if it's best not to take it before surgery.
