hydrocodone dosing

Had been on 1 hydrocodone 5/325 per day. Being in constant pain she finally upped me to 2 5/325’s a day. My best option I assume is to take one right before bed so I can get at least 3 hrs of sleep before being woken up by the pain, and then one when i get ready to go to work so I can function for a least a few hours before the pain gets really bad. Is this the best way to utilize the two I get per day or should I try them at different times?

This is the first time I've ever tried this I took 5 i took 5 hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 and I'm worried about over dosing. Any answers you have can help me. I will never try this again. They weren't mine I took them to get high. I'm really scared.

I already get 90 hydrocodone a month. I will go to a pain management clinic and pay for 90 more hydrocodone a month soon. I already told my primary care doctor I run out early but he said he could only write me 90 a month. I will pay for the other 90 myself without my insurance company acknowledgement.

I have severe Gastroparesis and am on GJ feeding tubes. I was in pain management, but got kicked out because hydrocodone wasn't showing up in my system. I did a DNA test and I don't metabolize opioids and with all the liquids that run through my body with feeds, I feel like it dilutes my urine. I am going to see my Dr. today and I have been perscribed hydrocodone in the past to treat chronic lumbosacral pain. How is Oxycodone 5mg compared to Hydrocodone? I take Hydrcodone 5/500 APAP. Is Oxycodone a good alternative to Hydrocodone? What are your experiences?

I also noted some commenting that they are dosing two - three times per day. I am not a doctor and cannot recommend dosing, but the halflife with sub is nearly 40 hours and dosing once per 24 hours is more than enough, taking more than once per days is a mute point because it does not help with the drug taking behavior what so ever. I started out on 24mg from a 200mg+ hydrocodone habit. I quickly worked my way down to 16, then 8mg and took between 2 - 4 mg/day for several years.

Most of us have a hard time especially if we have access to pills. I had do give mine to my Mom to dispense. Any amount you reduce at your regular dosing time is a start. Talk to a doctor.

Hello. I am trying to wean myself off of my pain meds. I'm doing this because twice in two years I've had my pain doctor suddenly shut down and the terror of not finding a other one in time. I did find one in time but on the first visit asked him to lower my Fentanyl patch from 75 MCG to 50 MCG. I've also reduced my hydrocodone on my own down to one 10/325.

Hello all... I am now on my second day of coming off hydrocodone 10/325. I was taking anywhere from 10 to 15 a day and absolutely had to have them! I would wake up and immeadiately chew 4 of them just to wake up! I chewed them so they would get into my system much faster.... I have read many answers on this forum and some have been very helpful. I don't know the best way to detox from home. I do not have any med insurance and have been taking these little jewels for about 1 year.

5 mg oxycodone. 2.5 mg hydrocodone. Prescribed both. One for wisdom teeth, one for chronic headaches. Thanks!

how is the best way to take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325 to get the most relieve. I am severly disable from post polio and scoliosis . total spinal degeneration from being given bone donated by a affected person at least 25 years ago. I have trouble going to sleep with the pain . I am up most of the night. How can I get this to work better or should as the dr for something else. I have been on 4 a day of about a month?

I just found out that i am pregnant(2months) and I take hydrocodone 7.5/500 once a day..i know its not alot but ive been taking it for 2 1/2 years for chronic pain...i need to stop for the sake of my babies health..Im affraid my baby will be addicted and have problems....Ill take any advice!!

about a month ago i was prescribed suboxne for getting off of hydrocodone - about 6 tabs (10/500) day. I got my prescription, only 1/2 of it bcs of insurance problems. I used it, actually taking much less than doctor had told me. I was doing well, and had quit the subs within two weeks of getting my first prescription. I've since began the hydrocodone again, really serious about wantint to quit (take for pain) but won't go into all that got me into starting again.

She could possibly be getting oo much by dosing in that manner. Even though hydrocodone is short acting you could develop a toxic serum level by taking enough by the hour after the 2 pill loading dose........take a look at how you dose..........and the mint tea is a great idea - get her some of that right before bedtime and she will sleep well.......

I am using Hydrocodone for breakthrough pain. I am getting a refill of the patch and was wondering if it is okay to ask for a refill of the breakthrough meds. I don't know how often i should be getting that refilled and don't want to alarm them. I have been using the breakthrough med quite regularly as we are still trying to adjust the patch levels.
